Very good reason, I'm sick of having to turn down girls between the ages of 15-18 and getting disgusted looks from older people when these girls hit on me. If a girl is old enough to demand sex, she's old enough to take responsability for her actions, same with a guy. That whole statutory rape law is supposed to apply to "innocents" who don't know whats going on and who are being tricked and manipulated because of their immaturity. It's rare to find a girl thats a virgin at 18 now. It's also uncommon those girls are dating someone their own age or younger. I mostly see a 1-2 year age difference or more around here, with the guy being older. Usually it's the girl picking up the guy too, not the other way around. The guy will still get arrested either way too if caught and prosecuted. It irritates me to no end with that one.

Same goes for australia, 16 and your alllowed to have your way sexually, or if your within 2 years of your partner
eg. a 12 and 13 yr old can have sex, cause they within 2 years of each other

While such things weren't on my mind at that early of an age, a lot of people I happen to know, girls especially were sexually active by the age of 13-14. It does make sense, however much I happen to disagree with their choices. So long as it WAS their choice, they should be responsible for it. However I do have to say, at that age, your far more likely to find a young person attempting to just appease an older person and not really knowing whats going on as if you have someone of the age of 16.

Whats sick to me, is there was a 14 year old once that offered to strip for me because she wanted cash. That was simply disturbing for a number of reasons, first of which, what need she had for money to offer that. Second, who inspired such thoughts in someone so young?

Also, the things young women do for drugs, alcohol, cigarettes and money around here after dark is just wrong. The convenience store I worked at over-night brought me into a lot of situations I wish I had no knowledge of.

as it should, the laws are thought out perfectly, and with everyones interest in mind, the people interested in sex at that age is few, and even then they have to find someone whos the same age and of same liability as them, so they both normally have a similar thought running through there mind and are on the same page
