ok 1) all the common races are well, common. no one would think that an overgrown insect would be willing to help anyone that isnt in there family.
and fantisy is well just that fantisy. we have some one who talks to wolves. another guy who happens to be from a roman coloseum. so whos says a giant mantis cant help.

Hey! I am not from a Roman colosseum, and the guy who talks to wolves is actually a girl.
I can't say I mind your character a whole lot, but I did figure what Sytze said was reasonable to a degree. However, it is a fantasy, and unless an overwhelming majority is opposed to it, I, personally, am fine with it. There still is, however, a perfectly good way to make the common races less common. For instance, my guy, though Human, is huge, so he is not that common. Also, Rethne is a Tafling (Tiefling Halfling)

.
Anyway, there has been practically no opposition to your guy, so I see no reason for him not to be in. Cipher, the guy who started the thread appears to be no longer involved, so it is up to the group to make decisions.

ok normally a "gladiator" was a roman slave. just pointing that one out thats all. and i did say someone, not someguy who talks to wolves thats all. i just havnt seen any distance support for your group and i thought my char could lend a hand, or four. i have had time to read the whole story yet but so far i do have to say it is going good.

Oh, I know where gladiators come from, but this is, by no stretch of the imagination a "normal" story. There are no Romans, alas, so my guy was just a tavern Gladiator.
Anyway, I read that the ECL on the Thri-Kreen is like +6. That sucks, but one has to assume you gain a lot in return? Or is it just for being an exotic race?

I have no problem with another character joining, since cipher and ungor have abandoned us. However, like I already said, I do oppose to your character. Of course, this is a democracy here (at least, I think

) and I may just be the only one who has a problem with your character.

I don't mind, but only if you introduce him in a realistic way to the story, nothing "woops, why hi there mr super bug, did you just fell from the sky?"
But if you manage to inroduce him to the group in a realistic manner, then I am okay with your character

i have no problem having him come in, in a realistic manner. its just someone might want to think about ideas for adding him in. i dont have much access to a comp right now and it would be unfair to everyone, to have to wait on me. and their elc is a +2 if i remember right. so its not that hard to play as, and just because im not an elf or a dwarf, sytze is afraid of him (muhahahahaha) o wait its just not normal for a giant bug to be with humans is that it?

That's indeed it. Why on earth would I go out adventuring with a bug? (I'm kind of prejudiced that way)

Well, he could distract the enemy by flying around thir heads, buzzing and stuff, while the rest of the party pounded him to dust.

how can someone be prejudice agenst an insect. there is fear, but not prejudice.maybe we can have a common goal in the group, or the two of us could try the whole distrust the others race.

Well, as the mammal supremacist that I am, I am prejudiced "not in favor" of insects. Not outright against, but not infavor.

I'll try to get my part up around or before thursday. I've been quite busy the last few days, so I'm sorry for slowing the story down.

Great pice Sytze, I really enjoyed it! I love how you made Duncan interact with the owl, really funny and character developing
