@CE I'm sorry to hear that

I rarely played piano in concerts (though I had to play tenor horn a lot in concerts, I was in a brass band), but I don't like it either

@Georgi: Like you, I started to play at a very young age, and a music teacher who puts kids under pressure to perform in concerts can easily ruin the fun of playing any musical instrument...I've haven't been anywhere near a piano since I was 16

But sometimes I consider to take upp jazz, it's so totally different so it be something completely else

@CE yep, I still play

I got fed up of taking lots of exams though (when I was about 16, I think), so I stopped (oh, the joy of not having to know every scale there is to know!) and just play for pleasure now.

I still play some classical, I play a lot of piano-vocal stuff as well. I really wish I could do jazz improvisation, but I am useless without sheet music

I had considered taking up guitar though, so I had something portable I could take to uni with me.

well-let's see?...Hmmmm...one song to sum up my entire being. Well that's a lot to ask of one song but i would say...TO LIVE IS TO DIE, by Metallica. I doubt many of you know it though...it is an instrumental(well it only has four lines in it) that to me, starts at a peaseful childhood and ends with the chaos of dying, with all the ups and downs of life in the middle. it is on the AND JUSTICE FOR ALL album.

My wife says-"It's just noise!"

Georgi, I would have thought an angel like yourself would be more acustomed to playing a harp.

They can be very nice if played right.

Believe me, having an instructer as mother is even worse. There's no escape from daily practice for whatever reasons...

I also become terribly nervous to play in the concerts. The moment I look the hall full of people is the worst moment.

I played electric organ for 10 years and gave up, as I hated practice alone. I played the alto saxophone, and played in the band. That was a great fun, though tough. I got flat tummy without sit-ups.

An interesting fact for anyone interested, a group of my ancestors played harps in front of Queen Victoria.
