Thanks for editing your character, Seabass. Aerie will be accompanying Magus at the beginning of the story. And I think I'll have a different place than the Planar Sphere for my home...it'll be called The Rift.
(story): This obelisk-shaped structure stands tall a few miles from Athlatka, on a cliff overlooking the Sea of Swords. It's made of a hard, almost indestructible, dark purplish-blue rock created by magic. As the sun shines on it, it seems to swirl and pulsate before the viewer's eyes, and hums almost imperceptibly. The entrance is a portal to a pocket dimension of the same color but lighter. Inside lies a small world, ever-expanding, as Magus adds new structures to accomadate his books, research, and living accomadations. All sorts of experiments are performed here daily by a few trusted apprentices, where an accident cannot harm the outside world. The obelisk itself is protected by an innate and powerful field of magic, which forms a palpable (physical) barrier in a small radius around it. Any magic cast in a limited area around the obelisk is absorbed by the magical stone, except for Magus's. The stones resonate in such a way that let only magic with a certain "fingerprint" (Magus's) alone. Since a spell is required to open the entrance, only those that accompany him can get in, or those possessing a certain item forged by him. Contingencies are set to admit a few frequent visitors. With an incantation, Magus can even increase the stone's magic absorbing power, and drain magical items within the limited area. The inside is powered by the slight (almost imperceptible) magic drain that the obelisk exerts over the entire area (very large radius).
(end of story)
Cool, huh? Is that ok with you Drakron?

ahhhh so instead of having invulnerable characters we have indestructable fortresses where we can stay hidden from our enemies like true cowards. um...only one problem, if we allow these the battles will go something like this:
Weasel attacks Magus
Magus casts spell sequencer(5 magic missles)
Weasel has a cloak of mirroring and reflects the damage back at Magus
Weasel did 52 damage to Magus
Magus teleports back to his indestructable palace to rest and heal himself and then goes back to fight Weasel again.
<REPEAT>
<REPEAT>
<REPEAT>..etc.

Even if he teleports, he have to spend some time to rest, if he teleports back we will not be in same spot as before.
Besides no place is a invicible fortless, he have left a clue.If we find one of his allies devices that can open the door, we can go in and attack when he is most out of teleport spells, so he cannot run away.

Alienbob: Hey, everyone should have a safe haven in the raging hostility that is Faerun

Besides, have I ever played the coward before?
Drakron: I knew someone would come up with that. The items are attuned to their intended user as well. I truly didn't intend on any homewreckers entering my abode

On the other hand, I don't intend on retreating there unless absolutely necessary. And even then, our characters aren't supposed to die, right? So what harm would my retreating there do? I would be temporarily out of the story, and that's no fun. The Rift is merely my eternal home. If I had made it lesser, then some clown would have tried to destroy it. I'm sure some clown will STILL try to destroy it

But since this story will probably not be a fight to the death, a place to rest and recover isn't such a bad thing. And it's still possible to prevent me from teleporting there, if it becomes necessary. Magus isn't one to run from a fight, so it shouldn't be a problem.

There is always a way in, there are no safe heavens but going after one Magus is not something that sould be done, first you have to find a way in, second you have to find it. Amn is very big so finding that thing will not going to happen unless Magus lets it. If you what a safe heaven fine, but dont try that teleport in, teleport out. Also only magus will chose if his character will live or die, like everone else here.
Also if you what a safe heaven make one, like magus did.
Since I am a bladesinger I dont have a one in a fix place.
And I mean it, goin after magus is NOT going to happen, a safe heaven is a place were one can stay away from the game for a time.but if somebody tries that teleport thing I will join a party to go after that person.If I am not online fell free to do the same, this is to have fun, not to spoil the others fun.
only one can chose if his character is going to live or die.

Alienbob: You're turning to the dark side?
Drakron: Actually, it's not so hard to find...it's a big obelisk sticking up into the sky, so it's not hard to spot. Getting near it is the problem (physical + magical barrier), and getting in uninvited is nigh impossible. Perhaps it will happen...but don't count on it.
I thought that a tower would fit in well with a mage's image, since they are known to be solitary and reclusive. For others out there that want some sort of home, I suggest keeps or palaces for fighters (they tend to be rulers), and guilds for thieves (but not the Shadow Thieves, as Aran may be useful for my part of the story)
Drakron: Having trouble thinking up a starting point? I'd be happy to whip up something quick for you to expand upon as we go

Go ahead, magus. I am having problems to start. I know have my safeheaven it´s a tower made of admantion that can be made smaller in order to travel with it in my pocket(note:I have a all time active spell that alert me of pickpockting attemps). it´s from the "dark elf triology" that tower that mage have in the underdark.(P.S. its listed in the "Player´s manual")
I am goin offline for some time now.(sleep)

Hmm... seems like Magus had a good idea... So I wonder if it would be allright for poor and humble Ubik to get the Planar Sphear as his own lair. I think it would be quite usefull and we could allways go a littul trip to some other planes, to drink a J.D.'s or two, find some girls and have some fun.
But I still could use some help by Drakron, who knows more about the planes (after all, he is the wielder of the Book and the other thing (batteries not included) )
Err.. Baddies, state your presence here and let's make some plans, we have to get them!
Drak, feel free to make up the rugh lines of the story, I think we should get starting

Heh, my intro story...
Aegis leans up againest the rough bark of a willow tree. The night had engulfed him, and his dog, Tag, hours ago. The two now sat in complete darkness, lest for the light which a nearby camp fire emited. Aegis had removed his battle worn armour, and placed it casually to his side. He relaxed, not thinking of any dangers that could be in the dark. He rested one hand gentily on Tag, and scratched him behind the ear. As he did so, he looked to the spoils of the quest the Most Noble Order of the Radient Heart had sent him on. With his free hand, he shuffled through the pile. 500 gold coins, an amulet in need of indentification, and the heart of a Wyvren. He turned from the pile, and looked into the dancing flames before him. He grined, and closed his eyes, drifting into a deep slumber, preparing for the challenges ahead the next day...
