I always played as good.
Mostly as Paladin, but sometimes as Ranger!
But next time I start playing BG2, i will be half-orc chaotic evil barbarian
I think it is a perfect killer
But for now I am the pride of the world, and I folow love and honor!

In BG2 i usually play chaotic good. The thing is that I like an alignment which gives me the most freedom. When I played pen and paper D&D (among other types of games...had a brief foray into GURPS) I played a neutral evil character since I thought this would allow me to do whatever I want...but I never felt that I could exercise some of the evil options fully. Being bad when you want, where you want is difficult if your party members don't like it.

As it is in real life. There are dire consequences to being evil.
BTW, kudos to Alienbob. This is the best name for a topic I've ever seen. Hands down. No offense, Weasel. I know none is taken.

i always play chaotic neutral, anything else is just too morally restrictive. i will gladly steal anything that looks even partially enticing, kill anyone who attempts to impede my progress, and although i haven't done it yet, i'm dying to land a fireball in the HQ of the radiant heart. all that lawful good in one place just sort of chafes me.
ever notice how the chaotic NPC's seem to be the most fun? (minsc, jan, korgan, etc.)
