since then i have disassembled the second comp and put it in the closet. have installed windows XP 64bit and overclocked the 4670 and added a second 60mm fan in the mATX Dell case. have tested the graphics card in doom 3 with max overclock (60fps average 31fps low)and it runs 43-44C with side panel in place took the panel off and temps started going up. ran WOW after new os(game kept crashing but might have been patch related) and with old onboard ran 20+fps and 200+ms at 1280x1024 put in graphics card increased resolution to 1920x1080 ran 70's fps average 180-200ms. monitor looks awsome comparable to my crt for picture quality and the built in speakers are literally the worst i have ever heard!!! and i've heard some that i thought were bad untill i heard these(warped/rotted paper cones w/whizzer tweeter out of my truck which is an 85 ram).terran698 wrote:got 2 comps

Have you tried turning the options back to high in Crysis? Performance should improve by then and the visual quality should be nearly the same as the ultra setting minus some graphical effects.BlondGamer wrote: I can play Crysis with all settings at Ultra and still get 45 fps
Any other game I can play at high or ultra high settings without a problem
This was also my first build and I'm glad my PC didn't blow up! LOL
It matters if you play multiplayer, especially shooters. If you play single-player, anything above 30 should be satisfactory.Tricky wrote:People complain now when they get 'only' 45 fps? :speech:
well comp 2 kinda died when the belts in my front right tire broke but the tire didnt pop and it was major bone rattling vibrations for and hour and a half drive which shook the hdd to death and i have a back up 60gb but its squeaking is so old so i dont use it much if any. also my old dell mouse finally died(very bad double click problem) so now i use a kensiko 3 button ball mouse as i havent bought a new one yet (snatched unused one from grandparents) and i am seriously debating buying a razer naga so if you have any info on one i would love to hear it(personal or friends info only as i can read forums myself).terran698 wrote:since then i have disassembled the second comp and put it in the closet. have installed windows XP 64bit and overclocked the 4670 and added a second 60mm fan in the mATX Dell case. have tested the graphics card in doom 3 with max overclock (60fps average 31fps low)and it runs 43-44C with side panel in place took the panel off and temps started going up. ran WOW after new os(game kept crashing but might have been patch related) and with old onboard ran 20+fps and 200+ms at 1280x1024 put in graphics card increased resolution to 1920x1080 ran 70's fps average 180-200ms. monitor looks awsome comparable to my crt for picture quality and the built in speakers are literally the worst i have ever heard!!! and i've heard some that i thought were bad untill i heard these(warped/rotted paper cones w/whizzer tweeter out of my truck which is an 85 ram).
These are the best keyboard and mouses. Although all my mice have a wheel. Never liked the 10+ buttons bricks that people tend to call "mouse"11)ancient IBM keyboard and 2 button ball mouse from early 90's
is your keyboard one of those legendary ibm mechanical keyboards? i think it would be the m series if it was.Stworca wrote:Ah, the show off thread!
For any games released after 2007 i use an E8400 Intel with a 4870 radeon and 4gb ram, however most of the time i use one of my laptops. Have a few backup pc's.
I didn't encounter a worthy enough software that would make me upgrade my hardware again.

Whoa - this is a long time ago.Xandax wrote:Mines getting a bit old now, it's an E6600 with 4GB RAM, GeForce 8800GTS w. 768 MB RAM, and a X-fi sound card and various other stuff.
Am thinking of buying another within the next 6 months or so when Windows 7 comes out (I've always been on board with the new windows versions) - have my eyes on a nifty high end one but it does cost a bit, but been a long time since I've spoiled myself.
