It's best to use the wands, as not only do they require hardly any strentgh, they also give extra skills. A necromancer shouldn't use their skills on strength, or worry about fighting with weapons. Focus your stats on mana, to help you casting spells.

i havn't net, i play SP....

runs are when you go kill a certain boss or covers an area you have already done for XP and items. you have mephisto runs, baal runs, pindleskin runs and so on. when you kill baal(in 1.6) you will fill up half your XP meter. very usefull for leveling fast. dont know how that is in 1.10.
