Windu walked the line between the light and dark sides of the force... his lighstaber form - Vaapad - is indicative of this: everybody else who learns it turns bad. He uses something akin to 'Force Crush' on General Grevious in the cartoon series, etc. and is still one of the most powerful Masters of the Light.

From a quasi-philosophical POV, we can see that there is no true existence of a 'dark' or 'light' side: Kreia hints at this in KOTOR II and Luke decides this in the conclusion of NJO... there are only dark and light motives. In the NJO series, a light-sider uses a scarlet lightsaber; in Revenge of the Sith, Anakin still uses his blue lightsaber (sure, he may not have had a chance to change it but the point remains).

In the NJO series of books (quite a few are poo, btw.) turquoise is also mentioned. I think that as far as colours go, there isn't any real limit: as long as the crystal fits the hilt and can focus the beam, it can be used... all colours should be randomly available in the game. The first crystal I even picked up was a silver one (KOTOR II) so they are out there - it just looked rubbish, like you were waving around a can of deoderant. I've had bronze and yellow (very similar: one has a darker hue than the other), light green (can't remember the name) and all the common ones.

To be honest, when it comes to the crunch, I'm not really fussed. ;)

Viridian, I don't really like Mace Windu, personally, not enough backround, and not enough Information on him. Really, NJO was a bit off, beasuce, luke wasn't trainded by anybody of the Current council, let alone, any real jedi. Yoda was an Exile, I don't know about Obiwan though.

Actually I believe my friend who reads the books, once said that powerful jedi such as yoda can draw their power from either the good side or the dark side, switching at will and that the light side and dark side are in fact two different power sources.
How come orange and bronze look the same on my game? The orange should be like the orange in jedi academy.
I was going to say the same thing. What's the point of a bronze saber if it looks the same as an orange one? And the Verdians look just like green.

Black would be cool, even though it's not technically possible. Oh well.

What I meant by the 'orange and bronze are the same' was that they both look EXACTLY like the heart of the guardian crystal from KOTOR 1. The orange should be white in the middle, surrounded by orange, not yellow surrounded by red-orange.

Invisible blade?

How bout a blade that is invisible and when it is active the player see's the static like a player looks like in stealth for a blade. This way he could get the upper hand on enemies cause they wouldn't know if you were about to attack.

Oh and the Force is not inherintally Light or Dark it is what is done with it that either leads to the light or dark side.

What they actually CAN do:

In the star wars universe the actual possible lightsaber colors are as follows:

blue
green
red
yellow
gold
silver
white
bronze
orange
violet
red
cyan
viridian

and yes....ther IS a black lightsaber color in the star wars myths from a black crystal, very darkside, and very rare. My guess is that it would look something like a black light since black cant glow on its own, but it does exist.

Anywaysm, I enjoy orange or bronze as DS since it distinguishes me from the other DS'ers and it looks bad-ass wit ha dark jedi master robe in II.

I like green as LS, because its my fav color, period.

How about a lightsaber with 4 or 5 blades. Not very realistic, but it would look cool. Or how about connecting blades: two hilts, a blade running in between them. That way you could use it as a staff, stick, or lightsaber with a weight on the end of it to knock people over or to use as a club. I heard somewhere that Ludo Kressh had something like that. It would be funny to have that in a first person shoot-em up game like Jedi Academy. I would go around beating people up instead of slicing them up. Jedi with an attitude yet not quite darkside.

This one probably isn't very realistic but what about one that has a huge amount of phosphorescence so like alot of the area around you turns that color.

Also I would like to see a brown color that is emitted from a toaster shaped hilt. Just a suggestion. ;)

I don't much care about the colors either, though it might be interesting if you could simply place two color crystals in your hilt and get the resulting mixture... What I wouldn't mind seeing is a saber that can become longer or shorter. Someone had one in one of the books (Dark Apprentice, if memory serves) and it sounded kind of cool, but never showed up again. I can't think of a great use for it in a turn based RPG, but that's beside the point...

Would that work often enough though? the two colurs togehter. Why have both yellow and blue when you have green crystals. It could work, but I dont know. If it would work, then if they bring back the heart of the guradian, and the other one, then people would but them toether into the lightsaber to get...whats the combination of cyan and viridian? Brownish Purple.

I do like the idea of the tiny lightsaber knives though. The jedi have the foce, they can always bring them back to there hands. Then you would have a ranged jedi who doesnt rely on guns.
heres a crazy idea. How about multiple colors. You no two color crystls in the hilt. Half green half blue or a see though saber beam. Spose it would be kinda weird as it would look like there is not saber but, the enemys would crap themselves. Being struck down by an ivisble force (lol pun on the would force there).
Actually that sounds kinda neat. A 2 colored saber. As for invisible, hmmmmm, not sure, that would not be very fair, then again Sith dont care about fair so let them have it!
I would like to see silver a lot more common because i have played 2 17 times through and still havent seen it so i would like to c silver alot more common.
HOLY CRAP! You have played through 17 times and still have not seen a Silver Lightsaber! Now that is the rare thing. I find at least 2 every time through. Some of the side quests give u lightsaber crystals and lightsabers on Nar Shadaa. I cant believe u never saw a silver one. I feel sorry for u. Use the cheats if ur desperate. Just send me a private message if u want and ill tell ya how cuz this isnt the thread for it.

There is a totally non-random way of getting the silver lightsaber crystal. You have to help Geeda the female rodian on Narshadaa in the trade war and talk to her about her lack of stock. After that you have to complete dantooine I think on the light side but I am not sure and then go back and talk to her to look at her supplies. When you look through there should be the silver crystal. If not you might have missed something that I forgot but I don't remember having to do that much.
