@Buck...hmmm...I just replied to your PM but it seems to have disappeared from my out-box. If you have not received it, I will send it again...

ok, something else I have discovered. All the PMs you were ever sent are there in your in-box even if you had deleted them very strange...again, it is only the parts of the PMs you received...not the parts you sent...

I like it, but it's gonna take some time to learn all of the little tricks to it.

Glad to hear it. Speed is the main reason that I wanted to move away from UBB. As time went on, UBB (which is CGI-based) was doomed to become slower and slower. You really can't beat the performance of a PHP/MySQL bulletin board like this.

Agreed. If I can find a way to add a rating system to this new forum, I will. Unfortunately, it's not part of the script by default.

Not sure what you mean here. If you mean in the "Who's Online" feature, the list of names is refreshed every 60 seconds. I don't think it keeps track of how long each name has been online, that would probably be a performance hit.

Yep, another one of those things that doesn't come with the board by default. Again, if I can find a way to add it, I will.

If you want, you can email me the "confused" smilie you'd like to see and I can add it.

In summary, the latest three received messages (in any one PM) are sitting in my in-box as separate PMs but under the same title as the original one PM, with the older received messages of that PM lost.

Are these missing parts (and the missing whole PMs) permanently lost? :(
Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do to correct the way private messages were imported, so you may have lost part of them. Sorry about that =\.

Menu link? Is there a broken link somewhere?

Can we get something that isn't yellow for the "No new posts" icon please? It's far too similar to the "New posts" icon. How about that sort of black shade that is used on the main forum listing? I like that.
Currently, I have the "no new posts" icon using a dark grey/black "V" icon, and the "new posts" icon using a golden "V". I was changing icons last night, so it's possible this may be corrected since you asked for this.

I have only received one from you, so if you sent another you'll have to resend it.

O.K. Buck, now I've had some time to settle in. Much faster (on a government T connection). Hasn't crashed my browser yet, (Netscape 4.77) which the old one used to do about twice (or more a day). From home it seems about the same speed. Love the color - Curdis !

The new forum is nice, although I like the old one better, still I'll get use to it.

Yshania: Not sure if you have noticed it or not, but the sent part of all PMs are saved in the Sent Items list of the Private Message Section - User CP, Private Messages, click on the Jump to Folder box and click on Sent Items.

Buck: Quitch was reffering to the link at the home page - and other pages - on the left hand side menu - it's still linked to the old forum.

@ Buck:

Something weird:

I've just received an e-mail informing me on a reply I've got in my message in the current thread. Here are the details:

Shadow Sandrock has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - New Forums - Comments Please - in the GameBanshee Discussion forum of GameBanshee Forums.

However, when I clicked on the link it took me to Sabre's post, replying to someone else!!

It looks something doesn't work properly.

Cheers

Everything on members This will tell you who's been here the longest, who is the newest member and who has what post count.

Thanks Sabre :) I was referring to the sent part of imported PMs, not new PMs written since the upgrade... :)

You're welcome. All of my PMs imported correctly, so I thought you might have miss the menu.

A question

If I use the option to be invisible, will I show up as a guest on the board? (26 members and 7 guest on-line)

Ok, I suppose it's my fault for haven't explained myself, but I didn't really mean that.

Yesterday morning, when I first entered the "new" forum it seemed that the general information previously displayed (member, registry date, number of posts, etc.) didn't appeared on the screen. However, this changed later in the afternoon.

Thanks, anyway.

Cheers

That is just an example. It still shows how long you've been here and how many numbers of posts you have, only on the left margin under the user-name. It's very convenient that way, but it just takes a little bit of time to get used to it. Most boards are actually that way.

The only real pet peeve I have about the new board is that the shortcut buttons are underneath the post of the person, rather than at the top. Sometimes I end up quoting the wrong person. However, that isn't really a problem with the 'B, just something to get used to. It shouldn't be too hard at all.

Perhaps I should stick to 'Sandy Brown' :D

I think that's the key-phrase:to get used to it.

I feel so very quite extremely and totally STUPID. Dah! I've just figured out that --among other changes-- now we're receiving e-mail notifications for every thread we had replied to!!

I'm going to find a hole and hide myself...

P. S. And something funny: Before I log in this morning, at the end of the page I read:

You may not post new threads
You may not post replies
You may not post attachments
You may not edit your posts.

For a moment I thought I should pack and get away :D
