Hello, all. I'm glad to have stumbled across this board, especially since the original official PoR:RoMD forum is no more.

I love turn-based RPGs; and with the current trend toward real-time games, it's becoming harder and harder to find any good ones. So I keep returning to my old favorites, including this one.

One of the known problems with this game is how frustratingly slow it can be, especially when you have to coordinate multiple characters. Plus, if you have a full party, you have to share the wealth around. And I don't just mean the treasure; XP gets spread out pretty thinly as well.

:mischief: I'm greedy. So I've decided to go solo - sort of.

I finished the game last year soloing as a Human monk/sorcerer/rogue/paladin (16/5/6/5). I chose Human for the extra starting feat; and through careful manipulation of when I leveled, managed to get all the additional feats I really wanted. When I got to the final set of dungeons, I so overmatched everyone it was almost a yawner. ;)

Last month I started playing again as a cleric/paladin, but quickly grew bored when my mad turning skills didn't really make the undead battles finish any faster. So I went back to my original plan, with a few tweaks:

Brother Alekzandyr is a Human monk/paladin/rogue/sorcerer (currently at level 2/2/2/1, but he will eventually reach 15/12/3/2). I love the monk sprite almost as much as I love the character class itself; they look so cool fighting with no armor!

He's conquering the Dwarven Dungeons solo, then planning to hook up with Faeril. If I've done the math right, there should easily be enough XP available for both of them to max out their levels before the end of the game, even with her initial multiclassing penalty.

Cheers!
