Originally posted by average joe That's cool about introducing the mage, Saigo. Believe or not, I had actually planned on doing the same thing in my next post...alluding to a magic-user amongst the Hand.
And for levels, we agreed on somewhere between 4th and 6th level.
If you already have a plan, run with it. I don't have anything concrete, I just thought it needed to be done.
Pretty much all of your questions have been answered Saigo, levels 4-6 is right on the button and while the official name for Connavar is Paladin, he considers himself a crusader in the name of good.
Check your PM's please if you haven't seen it already...
Question...how much should we keep to PMs, and how much should we post here on the board? I'd like to keep a certain surprise element for any readers we might have, but I suppose they could always just avoid this thread if they want to be surprised.

I thought about the spoilers, but we know you can't keep the junk out of our mailboxes! PMs are cool, or ICQ. Anything you don't want telegraphed, go private.
Just FYI to all. While Matti does have a history with thieves, it was fairly early in his life and he has no thieving levels. He does, however, know a fair amount about thieve's guilds and how they're run, a knowledge that wins him few points among the paladin circles. He has spent much of his skill points on thief-type abilities (stealth and disguise) due to his background. Like Nolan, he would consider himself a scout of sorts, and he would have liked to have Nolan's background as a ranger, had he grown up under different circumstances. But..., he didn't.
I think we should consider US the main readers, as I don't know how many others are reading this. If you want a surprise for some of the rest of us, keep it in the PMs, but I think much of the discussion could be here, especially after a villian or a situation is revealed.

Just my thought, but I think we should include a tough half-orc enforcer amongst the Ash Hand elite. We haven't seen him yet, cuz I would think a half-orc in Arberdan would cause a bit of commotion, where they are accepted in Soberdan. So he's been staying out of the public eye. Also, don't forget Hilden.

Of course, Matti will take on the world, if you let him. Conn, you'd better play your cards right if you plan on getting to the point where you have a duel! j/k
BTW, I'll be out of town for a few days on business, and that means no internet access! But I'll post an update when I return. Feel free to use Matti as you see fit, but just remember... he's quite cool!

OK, OK, OK! I've got the next Nolan Farioak installment written, but it's in longhand. I got it done Sunday night, and, on Monday, the R/L monster reared its ugly head. This chapter is 15 hand-written pages, but it covers a lot of territory. At the end, Nolan follows 2 of the Ash Hand down a sewer grate, so head that way...
I'll do everything I can to type it up by Friday morning. See ya then.
That's it then. The second tunnel leads down to the sewer. Let's wait and see what Saigo posts, then we can fill in our part and meet each other in the stink of Arberdan.

Um, I've been hoping somebody would jump in on the story at this point. I don't mind picking it up here, but I'm not sure why we left the Hand's lair to go into the sewers that Nolan just left. I thought there were other tunnels, dryer tunnels, back the way you guys came.
Anyway, if somebody'll give me a hint, I'll be happy to run with it.

Bel was pushing to move the way you just came, and who am I to refuse? It's your game guys, unless someone makes the decision to move somewhere, or you do it as a unit, I'll write what we need...
