I've never played any of those deerhunter games. I don't see the point in playing a computer game in which all you do is hunt deer when you could go out deerhunting for real. Besides, it's a lot more fun to shoot a real gun. ;) :D

I've tried one of those games, but quickly stopped playing. I found it waste of time.

I hear these Deerhunter games are *extremely* popular in the USA. Can someone please explain why is that?!?

It may have something to do with the popularity of going hunting. I'm one of the few people I know from Texas who hasn't ever gone hunting. :(

They really aren't *that* popular. I can't recall seeing the Deerhunter series on any list of bestselling games in any given week.

They are usually low cost too.....they, regardless of how you feel about hunting in general, are just to boring to stomach.

I should send you a copy of PC Accelerator (Rest in Peace). It was apparently one of the top selling games of 1999

I wrote for 'em (a couple of things), and I'm glad you enjoyed the magazine. :) But I thought you meant currently. The Deerhunter series hasn't been in the topselling games at all over the last year, and this one.

I must say I can't recall any boring games I've played. Probably because I usually quit playing a game very quickly if I find it boring...

I see that many of you are dissing Diablo II  ;) I love it, whenever I want to rest my higher cognitive functions it's the perfect rest, almost like meditation :D

Dissappointing yes because it could not stand for his prequels even if the game has some great graphics (LB could have done it great if they let him IMO), but it was a good game, well after the fun-made dialogue patch things were much better. :)

As for the worst game i've ever played the title goes to the Gaurdian of Darkness. :)

Yeah, well, I think it is a miracle if those games sold well any year, anywhere. Let alone be at the top of the sales charts... whether it's this year or 1999.

@SS: Hunting is quite popular in this country also, but we don't (...or didn't) play Deerhunter games. Besides I don't see how hunting hobby explains the popularity of those games. If you have the opportunity to go hunting IRL, why not do that instead. IMO Deerhunter has only all the con's of real life hunting, but none of the pro's.

I don't think it's really designed for those who can and do go hunting. Rather, I think it was designed for urban folk and such that don't want to hunt without any of the hardwork involved and such.

@CE........
ughh. Diablo II. It was like meditation yes, only with more screaming, wailing, frustration and evil. ;) . Seriously, it was the sound which got on my nerves about that game more than any other aspect. The semi-orgasmic screams of the dying fallen-sisters drove me insane.

@Moleman (was it? I can't remember)
I thought Black & White was alright...I loved the minimalist interface and the miracle-hand gestures...with a trackball instead of a mouse you really feel like a god playing that game. It did get boring however, and the hype was ridiculous. I'm sure if I was a programmer however it would have been a lot more stimulating

@Whoever said ResEv was bad....it was fantastic! actually I didn't play the first one, but I did play the 2nd, 3rd and 4th ones. Alright, it didn't have the serious fear of Alone in the Dark...but it was pretty scary. I think it was brave of them to make a completely uniques movement system, and I found that it became very handy and second-naturish as you play through the game, and the camera was fantastic. The way you couldn't see ANYTHING, just when you really neede to was terrifying but brilliant. Still hated the bloody doors though ;)

Not really... must've been someone else. But since you brought this to my attention:

Modest aren't we? :D But I do agree, B&W was a personal game and had many interesting inventions, but in the end it was plain boring. And true; the hype was out of portions. But I guess that's just indication of good marketing.

I haven't dissed Diablo II since I haven't played it. However, I do have and have played Diablo. I find it boring because of how monotonous it is to just walk around in an odd looking dungeon shooting strange things with my bow for hours on end. And if I happened to die, I just began it all over again. I felt like I was stuck in Groundhog's Day, except that I could actually turn it off, which I did. :D
