Thanks!
1. After the battle, Kelsey initiates the conversation where he thanks my pc for sticking up for him, and states how he fears that Ceara will be back.....
Hmmm. He shouldn't say that he thinks Ceara herself will be back...

Are you mistaking Merritt and Lilla's party for Ceara, perhaps?

There should be two fights: One with Merritt, Lilla, and their soldiers (after which Kelsey does indeed say he worries Ceara will try again), then a fight with Ceara herself when she comes after Kelsey.

So if you've seen two fights, and they're different in that manner, that's fine.

But if you're seeing Ceara appear multiple times and say "Kelsey! Why have you forced me to chase you all over Amn?" ... that's bad.

I have dealt with Merritt et al, but Ceara and crew have appeared multiple times...and the dialogue is indeed "Kelsey! Why have you forced me to chase you all over Amn?" ...

Sounds like a dialog loop that I have come across in some of the Baldurdash patches.

I can still play on though; no wonder the romance thing took so long to materialise, I never got round to finishing it!

the funny thing is, though, in my game the romance dialogues themselves are in fact progressing......

Hmm, this gets interesting, I have to slow down somewhat in my next run...

DW: I'd still really like to know what that GetGlobal reports (you don't have to wait for Ceara to return, just check it the next time you're playing.) I can tell you what to set J#CearaFight to in order to keep her from reappearing but I'd like to diagnose the problem first. In fact, would you be willing to send a saved game to jcompton@xnet.com?

Weird though this problem is it shouldn't slow down the romance at all because the trigger to spawn Ceara is totally separate from the romance dialogue.

As for rushing through, the Kelsey romance is a total of 25 sessions (roughly the length of the Aerie romance, longer than Anomen but shorter than Viconia or Jaheira) and the timer was perhaps a bit too long in 1.0.0, we knocked it down about 30% for 1.0.1.

Hey there, tech guy for the Kelsey mod chiming in here.

When you fight Ceara, did you walk up to her to initiate dialogue, or did she do it automatically?

Did you attack the enemy party when they were blue-circled in order to start the fight, or did they turn red on their own?

I just got the saved game from JC, so I'll check that out right now... Oh, and thanks for all your help reporting this bug, you'd be surprised how hard it is to get accurate reports. :)

Ceara walks up and initiates dialogue.... After the dialogue fininished I may have first attacked the blue-circled guys in order to get a headstart....but I can't recall exactly. :)

cheers! :)

Okay, found a typo in the code, and it has now been completely and utterly annihilated. Thanks for your help!

I assume you bribed Merritt when you met him, is that right?

Yes...wimp that I am (actually I was very low level...and could not get to anywhere to stock up........) I did buy Merritt off. I suppose I ought to have tried a few more times

Thanks for looking into it ! :)

Well, 1.0.1 is out, but it was released shortly _before_ this bug report came along. We'll see if there isn't a slightly saner way to patch this one than another 16 MB release. (should be.)

Hey, I'm just glad my fight was challenging for someone. Most of the beta testers said they were too easy.

I'm just curious, what level was everyone when they ran into the bad guys? Were they fun? Challenging? Complete pushovers?
