Maybe the host should give a total number of points to distribute.
Of course no 3s in areas you don't need.

@ blueguy

its ok, u can lower, it doesn't really matter as all the gets changed is the spell effects, and not by much. super high isn't important and lowering will improve.also, there are these little +/- by the stat, which lets u lower and raise so u can lower the int/wis/cha of a dwarf and raise his str/con/dex, so u don need a dwarf /w 16 int and 6 dex.

@melondar
while a archer is ok, we need a mage as we have a cleric and thief, and enough fighters.

I don't want them to feel limited.Besides a char can pretty much have all 9's and still succeed. I'm trying to steer away from "power-gaming" and focus more on fun. If we have deficencies, it encourages team work, in that we will work out pre-battle strategies and everyone will have a part. It is a lot more fun when a combo attack is pulled off /w the cleric buffing the guys, the fighters rushing, the mage breaches the casters, and the thief backstabs the other mage. If a 19/18/19/3/3/3 half-orc berserker rushes in and just slaughters everyone, its less fun for everyone else and gets real boring real fast.

So just take that into consideration. The point of this is for everyone to have fun. However, don't take this the wrong way and try to make ure character deficient. Just look at it in the way that ure char should specialize in 1 or 2 stats, and have the others not so high, like people. A thief is dextrous and can be quite strong and healthy. due to his profession he should be wis and intelligent and may be charismatic. that could work out to 16/18/15/13/14/11.

if u plan on using long bows, u should have a higher strenght, as most require 18 or above, unless u plan on using a belt.

@ blueguy

don forget if u have a low dex, u can always use the gauntlets if u want, and ull be wearing full plate most likely. and if ure gonna be dwarf i suggest going for berserkers cause the rage gives u mad nice bonuses and resitances.

Yes, I planned on using longbows.
I could take 5 pts from something and put them into strength so I can use composite bows though
But, if you need a mage, Ill roll up a sorceror. I dont like specialty mages.

Okay, no archer then: instead, a Chaotic Neutral Human Sorceror:
8 STR
18 DEX
7 CON
18 INT
15 WIS
9 CHA

Sound good?

Profs in staff / two handed weapon

Chaotic Nuetral Necromancer

@ Melondar
I suggest raising your con to get more hp's and saving throws

@gnomethingy
If melondar is gonna be a mge, should be the cleric. your other idea was fine, ln preist of helm, and u wuold lvl up faster with a true class. and for ure necromancer take some points off his char and raise his dex.
