This is SYM you know. Puffins and sheep have been in the limelight long enough! It’s time the capybaras and frogs got their due! It’s a new sexual revolution, baby! *Kayless waits for the immanent arrival of the doctors who thwarted his earlier attempts to gain spider-powers and construct a goblin glider* Image

*sigh* I'm getting old and conservative... :D

It's Kayless and Peter Singer, the philosopher who proclaims it's time for mankind to break free from the irrational taboos that prohibits interspecies sex!

LOL Image Reminds me of one of my favorite quotable quotes, by Brendan Francis. “It’ll be a sad day for sexual liberation when the pornography addict has to settle for the real thing.” Image

I think the word 'cuddle' is not a manly word for one thing. Some men I know say they don't like to cuddle, sex being better than cuddling. I tend to think of 'cuddling' as an act of foreplay, also it's a chance for your body to just be reassured by the others persons body. *shrugs*

An example of 'cuddling' would be laying together on the couch watching a movie, and just feeling the heat that passes between your bodies but not necessarily acting on it, just enjoying it, if this makes sense? I consider cuddling more sexual than hugging in many ways as it tends to be more full body contact...
LOL :D But then you do mean cuddling can include sexual feelings, which means your definition of the word is simply broader than mine? :) The type of touch I associate "cuddling" with could never be viewed as foreplay or sexual, to me the word refers to the kind of kissing of hugging between parent and child that has no sexual undertone at all.

I think the easiest way for me to describe what I mean, is in terms of arousal. Cuddling to me means physical contact that decreases arousal, ie comforting a crying baby, a child curling up in the parents lap, etc, whereas touch with a sexual tension should increase the arousal level, ie you feel more awake, heartbeat and breathing goes up, etc.

Is cuddly not a manly word? I wouldn't know - what is a manly word? Men and women have equal sexual needs, that is a fact many times confirmed in studies. Do men and women show differences regarding other types of physical contact? I haven't seen any studies regarding this area, but it would surprise me a lot it there were any gender related differences. I can however imagine that "cuddle" would be a more socially acceptable way for women to express sexual needs in societies where female sexuality is still surrounded with more taboos than male sexuality, and the female stereotype still says women connect love and sex more than men do. I could also imagine that according to the typical Western male gender stereotype, perhaps sex drive is more accepted than need for other physical contact.

In any case, I know that personally, I am not fond of physically clingy men, and I'm not fond of "asexual" touch in love relationships with men :)

LOL :D I have some problems to see the manly connection here:

pain, muscle, blood - that's universal for most animal life on earth, including humans

engine, truck - "energy converters" and a vehicle, hey, I didn't know mechanical constructions have a gender :D

robust - eh, and adjective that could be used on anything?

infantry - foot soldiers, yeah, there are mostly men, in most countries? Although some countries also use women and/or children

Connery - Sean? Yeah, he is a man I suppose - haven't checked inside his trousers though

wrench - what is that?

Hm, this is all very confusing. What about contrasting the manly words with "womanly" words and "childish" words?

One could argue that leaving the toilet seat up is a form of scent marking! :p

LOL @Viv! Good topic, there haven't been many genuinely funny threads for a while now. I'm curious that you didn't compare the 'hiding in your sister's bed' trick that your Edwin does, you missed a good opportunity there methinks. ;)

@CE-I think you're right, cuddling is all down to semantics. I had always taken it to be more of a blanket term, as Viv seems to. It can be both asexual or sexual, depending upon who it is you're cuddling. And a wrench is a tool of some sort, like a spanner but bigger IIRC.

@Gwally-I know what you mean, Viv could cause the Pope himself to have serious reservations about his career choice merely by saying 'socks'. ;)

And for Heaven's sakes, what's the big deal about the toilet seat? If you want it down you put it down, if you want it up you put it up. It's not that hard to do.

exactly

what is so damn complicated with that?

women leave it down, so men have to raise it, men leave it up, so women have to lower it.. it's more time consuming to raise it than lower it so why are you complaining???

@Kayless mind if i put the capybara as my avatar??? :D :D

Morning Fas.

I just can't see what the fuss is about. I have no problem with raising/lowering the toilet seat when I want to use the loo, why is it such a big deal for everyone else?
