I would be an elven archer (better to put a couple of arrows in your enemy from a safe distance the to run into them with your head first). As an elven, I would also live a looong time in a city up in the trees! Hmm would you have hit points or would it be "one arrow nighty night"?

Why not a sling? They will feel more pain if you throw a hard rock +5 on them...
And about the nabo-daughter... I have heard about cameras with infravision...
Unfortunately, the producer stopped selling it after hundreds of complaint's (most of them from girls and angry fathers...
).

Illegal, they said, and it was actually meant to be a night vision camera, but it became infravision-camera, and I would really love to get one...
(not that I'm interested at all, it would be a present, for my... uhh... goldfish...
But, they have stopped selling it...

Had I the choice I would like to be a Ranger/Cleric/Mage elf (but i don't know if it is allowed in AD&D - someone told that R/C/M half-elf is allowed in 3rd edition of AD&D). He would be nice warrior as well as he could use all spells (in real life there is no xp cap).
Such a "version" of myself in forgotten realms would be prepared for all unexpected events even if he was travelling alone. But, more possible is that this Manveru from Faerun would like to have some companions during his travels (and he could even meet with Jaheira
). And because he would be an elf his life could be really long.

In reality, seeing as how I probably wouldn't last a second out there, I'd be a dashing half-elven bard. Sitting in the tavern, surrounded by beautiful maidens while I sip my wine and weave tales of far off places blah blah blah....It's the safe life, and the career with the longest life expectency.
