Right. However, by the time one gets those stars he usually does not need them any more - at least not for money.
There's little use of money in the game all the same, it's a slight problem only on early stages - and even then if one does not employ the alchemy :) Since my chars most often go unarmored or with some light armor pieces on, i may care about money even less. Besides Creeper and Mudcrab merchant there's no decent places to sell anyway - without mods, of course. Of course, if one searches all places throughly (and knows when to run).
I guess, however, that the case may be one on xbox, not on pc.

OK, I see all quality advices are drained!

I know it's a kind of strange, but I never did any of these things. Most of my characters aren't hungry for money. I do regular trade of potions and items I find on persons I had to kill and they're caves houses, plus the quest rewards!

And that's it!

There's no real need for millions, when all you can get by performing some quests and in the same time gaining some skill levels!

I never bought a single piece of armor or weapon, few spells in the early stages maybe, and that's it! Also, never paid any training in my later games! It's a bit longer route through factions but I'm a patient person, and all of my characters were some sort of warrior/knight/samurai. I had barely one Telvanni mage, just to get through they're quests...

LOL i havent's bought a single piece of weapon or armor since my 6th going through (though i actually keep buying few necessary spells - such as Mark and Recall). Just right, patience, and no any need for money, although you may have it unlimited if you wish, pleasure to play. In fact, as i said above, in this game one can live (and be rich even without caring about it) by sword (or staff).
However, it takes time (and some brains) to get used to it - alike as to completely different meaning of levels, esp. if one's coming from quite different games.

If you have both mysticsim and alteration as a major skill you can rob both redoran vaults at lv 1 and end up with 30-40k after seeing creeper and a LOAD of good armour and wargear.

if any one want to know ask me how. but it's a bit cheap

money

I found most of the artifacts which you can sell in the museum of artifacts like eledons ward, lords mail, staff of the hasedoki. And i sold all the items i had to the museum (arround 300k i think) then i made myself 100% chameleon and stole everything back. :) including the useless Stendar's hammer.
ps You cant do this twise :P

I prefer to leave the items there; I dont really use any of them, so they would just be sitting in my house anyway. It might just be me, but i find it kind of nifty to have the entire museum full.

Just one thing, I've seen people talking about getting money from killing ordinators, can someone explain how that would work?

Well Ordinator armor sells a for a pretty decent amount of money. So by killing Ordinators and then selling thier armor to the Creeper/Mudcrab Merchant, you can make quite a pretty penny. Although, by the time you can kill Ordinators in a straight fight, you probably don't need the money.

Personally, I like to crank the difficulty to 100 (my character is about level 54), go to the Dark Brotherhood's hideout (crank up some heavy metal, System of a Down works very well, try B.Y.O.B.), and start resolving my anger issues with those guys. They respawn, and their armor and weapons are worth a lot, so have fun!

If you are of level 54 then, even if you haven't paid attention, you should have enough money already not to ever bother about it. Anyway, about that time there's nearly nothing to buy. and actually there's next to nothing to buy at all in the whole game - save few things and spells at the very begining. After couple first hours only empty soulgems, bribes and spells are to use money for. Moreover since there's no (or almost no) places you could sell valuable items (Daedric, for example, even Dwarven).
However, since you mentioned the level , i guess you actually still haven't got the hang of it, at least enough to understand that level means virtually nothing in this game - you may be much stronger on 20th one way than on 58th another, for one thing.

P.S. To say, i know nobody who played with less than full difficulty after at least second run since the difficulty slider appeared in the game (the original version didn't have it, you know).

With mods, there are tons of things to buy, from your own boat house to flying homes, to crackling swords that only deal magical damage, to mage gowns, to hundreds of new books, etc. You're right, though, about the stuff in the basic game being so dull that after a few levels there's no good reason to worry about money.

with just the basic game, in the beginning there are 2 ways:
1: raid every house bare. so the bowl is only worth 2? enough of them still make a fortune

2: make potions. the bottom of the balmora temple, left, that person gets new wickweath and saltrice. whats better, if you sell to that person it remembers and then the standard level is the max so far, so for me, that person has 200 of each now. that means that you get better bulk discount. remember to have all possible apparatus with you when alchemy-ing, as good as possible, as that increases your potion strength too (i think. my 10hp/15sec became 5hp/10sec when i removed all but mort&pestle)

3: Sell to Creeper or to Mudcrab. I never bothered with mudcrab, he is a bit out of the way, but creeper is in the orcish mansion in Caldera. both offer the FULL price for anything you sell, AND will buy Skooma. Good extra? you buy and sell for the same price. so if the 5000 of creeper or 10.000 of mudcrap aint enough, buy back your previously sold items, wait 24 hours and sell them again.

1.2: at some point you'll be all powerfull etc, you might want to buy the trash cutlery etc from creeper and mudcrab again, just to clear some space, you got cash enough now anyway. its also 'fun' to bring a bunch of smithing tools and repair all the damaged items, accidentaly also making things a lot easier to scroll through

I've been going to the daedic shrine Ashurnabitasaui (spell?) on the north coast of Vardenfell. There are regenerating Daedra there (6 I think). I mark the spot, kill all, get daedic items, go in shrine, enemies regen, exit shrine, kill all, repeat. Almsivi Intervention to Maar Gan, stiltride to Ald Rhun, mage travel to Caldera, sell to Creeper (modded to have 500000). Recall and repeat.
Gets mega $$$ and some daedic weapons. I use a trapsoul enchanted spear. With Azura's Star it lets you recharge the enchanting plus if you get a Golden Saint, it opens alot of enchanting options.

keep in mind that dremora and golden saints hit back, only try them with good stats, skills and decent equipment, which might cost some gold to get :p

Yah i use several methods of making money. i prefer not to use cheats and glitches, but in my earlier levels i did. like on my first char i heard from a friend how to make like 250k in like 10 min. you can sell creeper your gold, and still have, it, so you sell him your gold like 5k for 5k,then rest 24 hours and do this like as much as you want, then you kill creeper, and he should have the collected gold on his corpse, for me, it took about ten min, and i had like 250k.

Also on another one of my chars, there seems t be a glitch were every kallop has a pearl inside, so i go get those

Then in Mournhold, i am mostly a heavy armor person, so i get the her hands armor from that one quest, which is like the best Heavy armor in the game, and i talk to the ordinator in the armory, then he attacks me, i kill him, and sell the armorer his armor then rest 24 hours, and repeat
