... And that the cause of women being more sexually active now is becuase they are finally allowed to be?

*shrug* I don't know that women are more sexually active, but I do think that they are usually as randy as any guy. Certainly since the advent of the pill and other reliable methods of contraception women have been far less inhibited about demonstrating their sexuality. IMO...as well they should be.....
But I don't believe that women use men more than the other way round, I suspect it is is fairly equal.

*DW glances at Gwally's crotch*
*Gwally is impressed*
*DW is non-plussed and goes back to reading her magazine*
This is the kind of equality I'm used to!

Men have a bit of a bum rap when it comes to sex. They're expected to live up to expectations of being sexual aggressors in all instances, yet at the same time they're condemned for the very same quality seen from a different perspective, as being shallow and interested only in one thing from women.
For what it's worth, and from what little I've seen over the last several thousand years, men tend to be individuals, each with their own sexual temperament and tempo. Now that women are shedding (in at least some cultures) social conditioning that forced them into a passive role, we're seeing the same thing in them. Not all women are sexual aggressors. Each person is unique, and as they age, and live with a life partner, their rhythms as a couple change.
I suspect we'd all hear a lot less jaundiced nonsense uttered about the opposite sex if we only came to realize that they face the same situations we do, and deal with them, not as a single chromosonal group, but as individuals.

I think that this is true. Sadly, I think that in many situations men tend to get blamed when something goes wrong, whereas women are equally responsible.
Also, I believe that women can be just as sexually predatory, that such tendencies are based on individual tendencies, rather than on any sort of gender specific pattern.
I guess I have, albeit it jokingly, added my own commentary to the usual sterotypes...But more seriously, it is precisely because of this that I refer to myself as studying gender history rather than women's history. IMO, you have to consider the situations of both women and men in order to attain any sort of true understanding ......

I'm gonna have to disagree with this one. Because the majority of the male population still does think with "paedro", it is easier for women to get what they want because of that. I think that leads to more women using men in the long run, regardless of how "equal" it may be. Women, especially cougers, as they're called, tend to prey on younger, more sexually active males, using their experiance, or whatever they may have, to their advantage.

Aegis, please don't take this personally because it is not meant as such. but right now I just don't feel like getting into a debate.
I'm sure we could argue about this all night, but let's just agree to disagree.
My own studies and experiences will contradict yours, because, after all, so much about this area is extremely subjective.
However, and I don't intend this to sound patronizing or offensive, I would suggest that you acquire a little more life experience before making sweeping generalisations in so serious a manner.
As Fable states, men and women are individuals. It is damaging and unhealthy to paint either with so broad a brush stroke.

Unfortunatly I think this is still true today, although perhaps to a lesser extent. I have rarely seen men being criticized for too much sexual activity, now women on the other hand...

Huh, when people talks about woman I always get the feeling I've never met one. (Joke about that all you want you little bugs
) I have suprisingly never met a woman that speaks a entirely different language, have entirely different motives etc etc.
I have, I was on holiday in Scotland and this old Japanese grandma came up to me, moved my extremely bemused person to an apparently more photogenic position in the old castle we were looking at, got another Japanese woman to stand on my other side, and had the second woman's husband to take my photo.
I did not speak this woman's language, and nor do I understand her motives in taking photos of complete strangers in ancient Scottish castles, however it was one of the more amusing (not to mention surreal) experiences of my life.

Sorry to disappoint you, I decided to resist the temptation this time, I'll try to be more witty as I read through the rest of the thread.
It's a pretty funny story though, no?

I know I'm asking for some serious flaming from my fellow males, but I've found it to be corrrect to sum it up in one sentence: "Men are pigs. " .
Sure, that's a simplification, but as a metaphor it applies nearly everywhere- be it the difference in "washing dishes before we use them" or the different approach to the laundry:
Women have 2 heaps: dirty and washed.
Men have :
1) Dirty
2) Dirty but useable for work in the garden/garage,
3) Worn once, usable after some airing,
4) fresh but not ironed, still wearable,
5) washed.
...and YES - the above statement applies to sex as well..men are less inhibited (that's a social thing, I think - mostly influenced by the immediate social environment) and men are most of the time (when interacting with females) thinking about getting her out of her clothes (or "into her pants" as it's sometimes put) - even if they're not really interested in the girl - and sometimes just to "prove that they CAN" do it....
I have yet to discover a (straight) man who is NOT a (metaphorical) pig....AND is able to prove it... (homosexuals are a different matter - sometimes THEY are the "better" women...) .
No worries,
Beldin
PS: And just for the record :Yes, I'm "straight" and I'm a "pig" (and proud of it

) .
