i've been called a dark flame before, something to do with him preferring blondes before i walked in. but i love flowers, too bad i have a brown thumb
i've seen too many guys that act like anomen to one degree or another in real life. and typically the guys only see the bragging side. it's definitly the testosterone.
from what i've heard the father getting killed is tied to the romance, so i'm not sure if it comes up if the pc is male.

All right, re the Slayer incident after resting in Spellhold:
I think it was the way my party was in formation; Slayer did not go for Anomen at all, but for Jaheira, right away. Also, I did try Protection from Evil 10' and I'm not sure it made too much of a difference...PfE maybe prevented J from getting totally destroyed (and kept focus off the rest of the group? Maybe??), but Slayer did a number nonetheless...
Anomen's reaction? "You are a beast within!"

He also said "Speak no more of it till we deal with those responsible"...so I'm wondering how this incident will progress...

Intriguing...do keep us posted. Incidentally I'm in ch.6, still no peep from Anomen. Of course, I haven't went anywhere near Bodhi yet, just wandering around killing dragons.....damn wish I'd decided to play a paladin, Carsomyr (sp.?) looks so cool.

Carsomyr is indeed an awesome, awesome thing
Perhaps only when Irenicus is confronted there will be a comment or dialogue of some kind?...can't wait to see how this works out...

He didn't say anything about it when I confronted Irenicus... Maybe it's just to show that he still loves you even though "you are a beast within". Aaah.

Oooh, are you referring to ch. 6?? Just imagine that conversation. "And you called ME a beast!" Some nerve...
Random BTW...did anyone else notice the lack of a "let's wait" option? When Anomen asks you to spend the night the response choices are either "yes right now" or "no way". Does anyone know, is it the same in other romances? (Excluding Viconia; I don't think waiting would be an option for a Drow

) I heard there was a wait option with Aerie...It just struck me as odd that that response wouldn't be given as an option. Perhaps for the sake of game simplicity?...

I seem to recall that there was an option of saying that you were uncertain of the future but that you didn't want him to leave. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that if you turn him down the second time he asks he simply shuts up. Although, I didn't pursue that dialogue option, so if anyone else knows, it would be interesting to know what happens.

I do believe that's AFTER the relationship is consummated...when he asks you to make a commitment to him, you have the option of saying the future is uncertain etc. I was referring to when he asks you to sleep with him, where the response choices are as follows:
1. Yes, tonight would be great.
2. Okay, if you want, I won't object, just don't cheat on me (how romantic
3. I just came out here to talk
4. No way, not ever.
Call me old-fashoined, but I would have liked to see "I feel the same way, but this seems a little fast," or "let's wait a while till it's right" or "till we're married" or something along those lines...
I would like to try the "uncertain future" response in a future game, just to see how the romance progresses from there...if you finally admit your feelings in the Saerk episode or if those responses change...

Maybe if you say "I just came out here to talk" the first time he asks you, then he asks again a bit later? I dunno, I went for option 2 (didn't want to seem too eager, y'know

besides, at that point I still found him quite annoying!)... Then later he talks about the future, and you have the option to tell him you love him too, or just say "I want to stay with you too". He's a bit upset but says he hopes you will grow to love him. So you can keep the romance going without telling him you love him, but the Saerk thing forces the issue - if you don't stop him killing Saerk and tell him you love him etc., he walks.
BTW, I'm told that with a male PC, his sister gets killed, but the bit with his father trying to take revenge and getting killed doesn't happen, it's part of the romance.

@Georgi -- this is interesting...options for a future game...thanks

No probs
Let me know what happens if you don't sleep with Anomen the first time he asks, I'm curious. He does seem like the type who would want to wait till marriage - guess the testosterone got the better of him!

Ah, I was pretty tired when I was playing through those episodes. I have this vague feeling I may have missed a step somewhere. At the point I'm referring too, (I think), he asked me about the future, my feelings etc (which I responded in the affirmative), and then suggested that we rest, which the game automatically did. So not precisely sure what happened there. Although at the time it did seem pretty ambiguous, ... but hang on I do recall a prior "about the future" conversation, (to which I replied in kind), but there was no automatic rest period. And then after I rescued him from his demons the second time (father's death)he said something about this time being together forever, and that was the last I've heard from him. I must go see Bodhi soon.....

That script about the future is triggered by resting, like the one about sleeping with him, that's why it goes straight into rest...
I think once you've stopped him killing Saerk the second time, that's all you get from the romance except the conversation in Spellhold when you turn into the slayer, and the bit with Bodhi.
I missed our little chats after that.

Yes, I miss the chats too. I really do think that they could have developed that romance a little bit more. Although, from what I can tell Jaheira's is the only one that they've really worked at. And gee, now I 'm wondering if I missed out on the consumation dialogue. Was it really direct with no multiple interpretations possible? In my case he said he really needed to know what my feelings were, I told him I returned his sentiments, and then he said something like "let us rest."

Well, most people complain about the Jaheira romance taking so long, don't they?!
But since I took ages doing loads of quests in ch2, the whole romance was finished by then.
Dragon wench, you sound like you are on the post-consummation dialogues, so it must have happened.
If I get time I will play through the early part again sometime and check it out.

Well the romance with Anomen is definitely still active because Bodhi vampirized him practically the moment I entered the graveyard district. This brings me to a question. All of his stuff was there on the ground, but "he" was not. I understand that you have to take "his body" and Bodhi's heart to the temple ruins dungeon in order to restore him (or whoever it happens to be). So do you actually find your lover's body once you've defeated Bodhi? I started a new game for this section in case of bugs etc (yes, I'm a wimp), but I'd still like to know anyway. Just a hiint, no outright spoilers please

. My apologies if this is covered elswhere on this board, my real life is demanding attention, so I just don't have the time to go through all those pages.
I decided to recruit Kedorn in the interim, Anomen was my main tank, and I may as well see Carsomyr in action!
Has anyone noticed that all the romance choices are cleric/druid types. Makes taking advantage of their undead abilities a tad difficult in this final confrontation with Bodhi.

lol
I was very annoyed, because I made sure Anomen was all tooled up for that fight with anti-vampire spells... duh!
Did you recruit Drizzt? Makes it sooo easy...
Oh, and you won't find his body exactly... well what usually happens to people who get bitten by vampires?
(it's quite difficult to say without spoiling!)

Oh yeah, and make sure you pick all his stuff up... now that's what the bag of holding is for!

Cheers!
Yes, I've recruited Drizzt (and the radient heart, and the shadow thieves). And you're right about the bag of holding, that's where I immediately put all of Anomen's stuff (well except for the ransom note from the the graveyard kidnapping quest... it no longer seemed necessary). But I have everything else.
Although, I have not yet seen Drizzt, right now I'm dealing with Bodhi's initial "welcoming committee."
