Used to create my characters according to characters in stuff that I've read... so I had a Kensai/Mage called Kenshin and a Paladin called Sparhawk. But now I'm playing a dual party (plus Tashia and Sola after a high enough xp level) and they're named, rather uninspiringly, Kelvin and Jenny.

Well, I play a Drow-hey, if the games won't give me enough options dammit, I'll make my own. (I downloaded a drow portrait from the internet, and use drow coloring and stuff) so I usually pick a drow name from this drow translator thingie. Originally, I named my character "Arcane," but now I use "Sui'aerl", the Drow word for "Arcane".

Here are few name I used before :

Nithylia -> (Half-Elf) Rogue
Oceana -> (Human) Priest of Amaunator/Helm
Kyarra -> (Half-Elf) Fighter/Druid & Monk
Soren -> (Human) Paladin

I never played Gnomes, Halflings, Half-Orc and Dwarves.... I think it's because I don't have names that can fit for them. (Nithylia could fit for a Halfing Thief maybe...)

Usually something demeaning. I enjoy having my characters insulted everytime someone says their name.

Well, I just found Gram the Sword of Grief +5 (just bought ToB), and now I'm seriously compelled to make a fighter named Sigurd Fafnirsbane just to kill a random dragon with that sword.

Actually, it's Zuul.

Gozer the Traveler. He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!
Correct, but I think in GB it's spelled "Zool"

I only played the BG saga once, simply named Rob-hin. In BG 1 I was a wizard, then BG 2 came out but I already deleted BG so I became a wizard slayer.

I'll start BG again soon, when I get my new PC.
Anyway, my protagonists name is Krunchy. Krunchy grew up a fighter, but became a berserker after seeing his ward Gorion slayed in front of him. After Irenicus stole his soul (it's amazing how the actually worked out! -- level 13), Krunchy gave up on his rage and decided that he needed some Divinity in his life, and dedicated himself to following Lathanders' teachings. Now he's figured out a balance of the two, and is preparing himself for beating Irenicus, once and for all.

I chose the name Elvis because my character is an elf mage.

Elf--> Elvish --> Elvis

Eh, what?

No rock and roll baggage suggested or implied.

Note:
Might be apocryphal, but I understand the name Elvis crops up somewhere in BG lore. As my groaning memory serves, I recall seeing Elvis referenced somewhere. Perhaps even in this forum. Some great hero with a sword, don't you know, (as if there weren't enough great heroes with swords in BG lore already).

I think ur refering to the picture of elvis in the Five Flagons inn in the bridge. Funny theres a picture of a guitar on the same floor.

My character is Corlis the Wizard Slayer. Cant remember where i got the name but it had something to do with a builder.

Here are some of the names I used in previous games, or names I want to use sooner or later.

Morbent Fell -- Human Kensai/Mage
Shan-Ralin Alyran -- Human Sorceror
Ecthelion Telumendil -- Elven Archer
Herask Marl -- Human Cavalier
Arkanis Gath -- Human Inquisitor
Kazragor Thunderbrew -- Dwarven Fighter/Cleric
Aqlesh Brokan -- Human Berserker/Thief
Degrin Merrybelly -- Halfling Assassin
Su Lim -- Human Monk
Dirhavel -- Half-Elven Blade

I'm pretty sure I forgot some, but that's still some of them :)

It depends on what kind of character I make...

Arkanjul - Elven sorcerer (half dragon but unaware of it)

Kylien Di'Yab - Moon Drow ranger (it's a long, complicated RP story from my D&D adventures)

Kryus Nashaak - Half-Elf assassin (when I'm in the mood for sneakery)

These are my character names for pretty much any RP game, from Everquest to Shadowbane to Horizons (hell even Planetside) and all my single-players. Oh yeah, and D&D :D

I gave my first character my own name. I also have a Kensai named Lydian, which is the fourth mode in music scales. You can get a lot of interesting names by opening to a random page in a music dictionary, or using the names of modes. I'm such a band geek. Woo hoo.

For a female character I'm often using Gabrelle. Especially for Clerics & Paladins.

Pallantine, Paladin of Helm. See it sort of rolls of the tongue almost, probably due to the close spelling of Pallantine and paladin. Though I think I got the name from a Dragonlance book. Also just played through again as Dar'Kane a chaotic evil Elf mage/thief and I must admit I did like the sound of "Dar'Kane Lord of Murder" :) I think it sounds suitably evil and murderous :D
When Evil beckons what will you do?

Will you run and hide?

Or will you answer the call and revel in it's power. It will set you free, to do what you want....when you want. It will unleash you, let you become anything you desire and gain power over those weaker than you.

But will you care about their plight,their screams and cries for mercy? No, for doing so would would make you as weak as them and there are always others willing to take your place from you...

My first try trough BG1 was with a female paladin called Lyanna Yi'Virtus.

I gave up in Cloakwood, but i still have her character file.

I have a dozen, but my favorite females were a dualed Fighter/Mage named Serne, a Priest of Helm/Thief named Rayne, and a male Assasin named Arath. Current character's name is Arvas. :)
