@Idioteque - Defense wins championships - ask the Raiders
So lets talk some smack - who had the best draft? Who had the worst?

Check out Mirrors Online a premier NWN2 roleplaying persistent world and D20 campaign world publishing project.
The Chargers have defense with Pro Bowlers Donnie Edwards and Marcellus Wiley to go with stars Quentin Jammer, Raylee Johnson and youngsters Ben Leber, Sammy Davis and Drayton Florence.
I had the best draft. Fantasy football is won by running backs and who has a better pair than my team with LaDainian Tomlinson and Edgerrin James ( who will have a comeback season). I still managed to get a top flight Quarterback in Peyton Manning and top flight receivers in Eric Moulds and Laveraneus Coles ( who put up big numbers in a conservative running offense and is now going to a run and shoot pass happy offense).
I believe BS managed to get the top two wide recievers in Marvin Harrison and Terrell Owens but I think I have a better team on paper. But paper is meaningless the games are played.
Good luck to all of you hoping to finish second to me.

Chargers used to have defense....but they finished low in the rankings last year.
I was going for Portis, but when he went off the board took the two I figured were the best left, and still managed to pick up Gannon. I am hoping this ain;t the year the Raiders enter the old folks home
Geaorge I think will have a comeback season, and I am hoping Green turns out to be the real deal in Cleve;and. I don't think I did bad, but I ain't sure I had the best draft of the pool. I hate having a team without a stud RB, but if Geaorge does well, I think I'm in good shape. At least with Harrison and Owens, playing against Manning or Garcia shouldn't hurt me that bad during the season .
On a non-related note, I just drafted in another legue last night, and some guy picked Pennington in the 3rd round.......somebody didn't do their homework
I think the Rats got the steal though picking up Vick. And they didn't hurt themselves with it; Maddox will be more than capable til he get's back from injury.

The Chargers defense is much faster and younger than last year and will be much improved.
I think William Green was a nice pickup he showed late last year why he went first round. Sorry to say it but Eddie George hasn't been a top back in about 4 or 5 years. His upright running style has ruined his knees. He's lucky Mcnair is there to spread the defense, consider it a good year if he rushes for 800 yards and averages 3 yards a carrie.

True, George has had a couple rough seasons. But, he still gets the ball a lot, and there wasn't a whole lot of difference in my veiw between him and the rest available at the time I got him. I think he's still capable of some things. He's had a pretty good pre-season, and he looks motivated and healthy. If it comes down to it, I'll see who else is available by about mid-season. That's the cool thing about it, somebody always comes from nowhere about halfway through the season. Still, damn Thug for taking Davis a couple picks before I was set to nab him.

That's assuming he's 100% when he comes back. Mark Brunell busted up his knee in the 1996 pre-season, rushed back on to the field and he's never been the same since. The smartest thing Dan Reeves can do is to sit Vick down and make him not play until he's absolutely sure that the break has healed, even if that means putting him on injured reserve and losing him for the year. Vick is too valuable as a long-term investment to rush back from injury.
Jesus saves! And takes half damage!

Still, if he does come back at a level close to what he was before the injury, I think it's a good move; esp considering he drafted Maddox who's playing in an offense with a loaded recieving corps.
