Again, the DMG holds the answer. (what a great book)
If you look at page 220, you'll find a list of materials, from a Mithral shirt till a Demon armor. These are premade items.

If you want to create your own item, go to page 282. There you'll find what it takes and costs to create it and what the special affects of materials are. Selling it in a store will, naturally, increase the price greatly.

Yeah, I first got that impression thanks to Faiths & Pantheons. Now if only my Waldenbooks would actually carry the DMG, that would make things MUCH easier!

Well, I suppose it's time I resurrected this thread, since I've got a new question.

What sourcebook(s) would anyone suggest for info (primarily character stats) on racial Half-fiends, particularly Draegloths (Drow Half-fiends) & Durzagons (Half-fiend Dwarf/Duergar). I know Draegloths are given in Monsters of Faerun, but wasn't sure if there were other books that cover them, particularly if they are 3.5 Edition or just better than MoF.

Statistics on special half-celestials, celestials, and elemental-based offshoots for the demihuman races are also something I'm looking for, so fire away!

Perplexed about the Player's Handbook.

Alright, here's another question, this time about the Player's Handbook. I've decided to obtain it in order to help w/ the work I'm doing in a few different threads.

1) What I'm curious about is the difference between the normal PH and the Special Edition one, besides the cover art. I heard the Special Edition one contains notices of errata, which makes me quite curious.

2) I also read reviews of both editions, and it was mentioned about the SEPH that it was for "real players." Since I'm really looking at this for reading and reference material, is the Special Edition version worth it?

So, any ideas?

The "Special Edition" costs more money. And from what I know, the extra information it contains (errata mostly) is freely downloadable. Don't bother, just get the regular one.

Nope, same thing.

Edit; Oh, wait... not sure if I have WinZIP.

Right-click on the link and select "Save as..." It should pop up the Save as Dialogue window, asking you to save the file to a local location. WinZIP can be downloaded from http://www.winzip.com

You're not seriously considering buying the special edition PHB, are you?

I'd recommend againt it too.

It's overly expencive with little added value... it does look cool though.

I guess it really isn't worth it.

I heard that originally, there was going to be a foreword ny Vin Diesel in it, which would've been shweet.

THat foreward is in a different book that basically tells the story of DnD.. It's pretty cool. Look!
