Meteoric Steel Mail
A definitly DW must-have ;) It adds a full suit of beautiful chain armour (with bordeaux trim) with very cool dual scabbards at the back. This is one of the best armour sets I've ever seen. The detail is amazing.

Most of my favorite mods are already mentioned in this thread. I'd like to add this beautiful house mod: 'Japanese house'. It comes with a patch that makes it even more pretty.

Jarrod's new texture mod

Image
Oh my :o This mod replaces most of the textures in the game, with a truly brilliant result. This screenshot looks incredible. Before you download it, make sure you have at least a 64 mb graphics card.

Roads to Heaven

Image
Another texture mod, this one replaces all road textures with sharper, more detailed ones. Again, you need at least a 64 mb graphics card to play this mod without a huge framedrop.

It looks great, I saw those before, but I don't want my framerate to slow down too much.

Moltovir, great screens...! But is Roads to Heaven the name of the graphics mod...? I don't think I've heard of it.

(One other point: please don't put screens up here, in the forum. Buck says they slow down loading. You're welcome to put up links to screens, though. Thanks.)

Inn of the Whispering Wood

This one is *really* nice, here is the readme:

BLOODMOON IS REQUIRED FOR THIS MOD (ALL ON SOLSTHEIM)

Face vengeful spririts of nature!
Pay the bard to play for you!
Drink elderberry wine!
Go mountain climbing!
Adventure with an unlikely companion!
Explore the dark reaches of the Whispering Wood!
This mod places a large, highly detailed new land mass on the eastern edge of Solstheim, increasing the islands' size about 20 %,
including a new Inn/ dock area. Several new quests (level 30+) are to be found. This mod also tweaks the difficulty of the high level
monsters so that they will be a challenge to the higher level characters who would encounter them. Also, wildlife has been tweaked so that
they will all not always attack on sight. (for realism) You will find many different characters in the inn, and at different times of day
some may be out adventuring! This mod was designed to stay in the spirit of the original expansion and may be played before or after the main
quests on Vvardenfell or Solstheim. (although it's less laughable now to do the Solstheim quests for higher level characters.)
The boatman in Khuul will now give you a choice to go to the fort or Inn.

REQUIRED: Bloomoon expansion,
All current "rhedds heads" mods (everyone should have these anyway) -that's it.
All these are found at http://www.endhome.com/Morrowind/Morrowind%20title.htm

Telperion: A new house mod, it looks lovely from the exterior, I haven't yet done the quest to claim it. Details from the readme:

Using Dongle's Tree House model Telperion is located on a small island south of the Telvanni Canton in Vivec. To get there first head east from the canton then once you reach the path turn south, this will take you across a small wooden bridge. Once you cross the bridge head slightly south west and you should find it.

The Tree house contains:

Lower Level - Seating, Dining and Kitchen areas.
Middle Level - Alchemy Lab and Storage.
Upper Level, Bedroom, Bathroom and Lounge areas.

Storage:

There are several different types of storage containers in the house including,

Large Chests - 26 encumbrance 1000
Small Chests - 3 encumbrance 250
Hutchs - 12 small and one large custom hutch encumbrance 500
Shelving - 6 open bookshelves (lower shelf of each contains three chests) and four closed bookshelves.

The Alchemy Lab has a working alchemy sorter. Nissa (a fairy you must free in order to acquire the house) will happily sort your ingredients into their respective jars, she doesn't do custom ingredients of course.

Teleport Ring - This will bring both you and any companions with you back to the Tree House.

The following exterior cells were altered slightly by this mod:

Ascadian Isles 5,-12
Ascadian Isles 5,-13
Ascadian Isles 6,-12
Ascadian Isles 6,-13
Isinfier plains -22,21
Isinfier plains -23,21

Complete the basic game and/or tribunal? This mod gives the hero a grand new quest worthy of his/her stature and power. Journey to the mysterious and varied volcanic island of Menya and discover why you have been sought after ever since your climactic end battle. Menya's robed Argonian pilgrims search most of the major locales for a certain adventurer; YOU! Tons of detail, new dialogue, scripts galore. Enjoy the varied beauty of this large island with it's volcanoes, waterfalls, tree platforms, beaches and an entire fungus-village located inside a giant flooded volcanic crater! You MUST have completed the basic game to embark on the quests (or even get to the island easily) but by now most of us have long since done so...

Lothavor's Legacy

I haven't played this quest mod yet, but it looks fantastic, so I wanted to make mention of it.

http://www.tes4.com/modules.php?name=Do ... #dldetails

Lothavor's Legacy

Solve the mystery of a secluded island and its inhabitants.

Near the docks at Sadrith Mora you find an old Nord sailor, Torlof Sigurdsson. He tells you about his brother who had acquired an old map of an unknown island one year ago, sailed there hoping to find some undiscovered treasures, but never returned. Recently Torlof visited that location to find out what happened to him, but as he approached the island, he suddenly felt so scared that he immediately returned without having set a foot on it. And now he's looking for a bold adventurer who might help him.

Torlof offers to ferry you to the island. When you arrive, you find a bunch of young people living there who welcome you friendly. But after some time, you find yourself in a strait situation you'd never have expected, and you realize that you're in the grasp of an untold power you'll have to deal with if you want to proceed...

Feature list:

- built on Hurdy Gurdy's awsome little island he donated to the community in early 2003
- a storyline that will capture your character's mind and soul (quite literally - but no, you won't get soultrapped).
- gameplay focuses on character interaction and puzzle-solving rather than fighting and travelling over large distances
- Two difficulty levels. This affects how many hints will be given (or how precise they are) and the difficulty of some of the puzzles, as well as affecting many other things.
- geared at character levels 10 - 40, strength of enemies (and scripted damage) depends on your stats
- players with their uber characters who are used to solve all problems by slaughtering everyone in sight won't have a good time...
- eight different NPCs, each with his/her own personality, dialog, and mini-quests
- New scripted NPC AI, with randomized daily schedules, moving over large distances (even through unloaded cells), sleeping at night. They react on waking them up, sleeping in their beds, sticking too close to them, etc.
- Custom disposition control that makes bribing pointless and admiring less effective
- develop a romance with one of 4 male / female NPCs. You won't make an explicit choice - it will depend on the attention you pay to each of them.
- lots of cool scripted stuff, some things (AFAIK) yet unseen in any Morrowind mod
- cutscene-type dreams
- end boss modelled from scratch, wielding a special kind of weapon
- Near the end of the storyline you have the choice to side with evil and do an optional questline on Vvardenfell (though you won't be very happy with that decision in the long run...)

abot's Water Life (available at MW Summit)
Water Life is an attempt to mix the scripting techniques developed in the "Where are all birds going?" plugin with the best aquatic creature modding resources to bring more life into Morrowind waters.
This plugin adds to Morrowind (most) peaceful aquatic creatures based on the wonderful models & textures by Cait Sith, Lady Eternity & Proudfoot, Brash.

I have found it to have done much more than that though :) adds a fully fledged fishing system and skill :) I have yet to get to grips with it, but it looks superb. "Where are all the birds going?" is also an excellent mod :)

Children of Morrowind by Emma Homepage
Adds children (babies, toddlers 'n' teens) to locations across Vvardenfell... with interaction options, voiced dialogue and much more :) .

Galsiah's Character Development (GCD) Homepage
GCD changes Morrowind's levelling system to make it seamless. Limits are removed from skills and attributes, and skill gain is slowed down exponentially to preserve game balance. Skills influence attributes, health and magicka directly.

Characters remain diverse throughout the game, with strengths and weaknesses dependent on initial skill choices, skill increases and racial factors. Includes optional magicka regeneration. Easily and extensively customizable (see readme).

GCD works on non-GCD saved games. (though you'll have to go through a fairly boring data entry process the first time yu play with a character).

I've found this to be an excellent mod... get over your initial xenophobia or something that so radically changes the game system and GCD proves to be an excellent mod. It increases the difficulty of the game and slows down character development significantly, but appropriately :)

The Underground

"Description
The Underground is an epic quest mod where you meet an attractive vampire of the opposite sex and go on a long adventure with them which puts you both in perilous situations that brings you together on a romantic, often funny, and very scary quest to save the world. It's called The Underground because it takes place largely underground in caves, caverns, dungeons, etc. Also there is a vampire/daemon bar called The Underground with the entrance in the Balmora sewers (which this mod adds.) It's packed with action, puzzles, traps, complex relationships, comedy, drama, thrills, dark themes, and of course, vampires! While not a "vampire mod" in the strictest sense, because it doesn't require you to be a vampire to play, vampires are the primary characters in the main plotline."

The Way of the Talon- Version 2.0

What's the mod about?
What would happen if a new and strange race suddenly appeared in Morrowind?
The way of the Talon quest mod is about my pharlan race and how they interact with the people and factions already in morrowind. The mod contains it's own lore as well as melding into existing lore.
This is the final version - or as close to final as I can get it.
There's plenty to do for all player characters but especialy for pharlan characters, there's several NEW extras.
What does the mod include?

* -Splitting main quest - evil and good sides
* -Puzzles
* -Nasty Baddies to beat up
* -Interesting but reasonably balanced rewards
* -Several companions (love interests for pharlan characters)
* -Companion friendly transport system (covers both expansions)- now instantaneous.
* -Three new sets of armor - with boots for beasts AND human races
* -Several houses available for the PC - from huge to small.
* --lots of side quests
* --pharlan lore - lore books, dialogue etc.
* --shunt for BM mainquest - pharlans can do Hircine's side without being a werewolf
* --partial faction quest and faction subquest for very noble/good/paladin characters
* --beastly versions (ankles only) of virtually all the standard armors.
* --now requires BOTH expansions
* -Many of the quest outcomes are also dependant on YOUR CHOICES, so keep that in mind as you play- save and re-load to try different options.
* 3 new sets of armor (2 light and 1 medium) - retextured from standard MW and tribunal meshes- now with beast footshields and human boots.
* New BB2 compatible clothing (re-textures) - pants and shirts for GUYS this time.
* A Floating town - new shops, taverns, hostel, temple, visitor's center and fort
* A new companion friendly transport system
* Tons of new NPCs to interact with (currently up to over 180 pharlan NPCs (plus a number of new non-pharlan NPCs)
* Vampire friendly - except for the faction quests

NEW NPC REPLACER

This has just been added to my 'Will not play Morrowind without" list. Replaces most NPCs faces in the game. Makes all character a lot better looking, as well as unique faces for key characters.

Basically a collection of different modders into a single plug-in, but it really looks good. From MW Summit description:

"My work is ONLY on the .esm file. This plugin REPLACE most of the existing faces of the game with those made by talented artist such as:

Rhedd and Allerleirauh
Zuldazug and Don Salus
Arathrax
Noviere
Hell Kitty
Nomad
Eternum
Lilia
Ironf"

BETTER BODIES PEASANT GOWN REPLACER:

"This mod replaces some female outfits with the Peasant Gowns. It is mostly shirt and skirt combinations that have been changed. I have tried not to modify any NPCs wearing robes, pants, or armor. I have tried to place commoners in more common gowns, and nobles and richer merchants in more expensive gowns.

The gowns have the possibility of being found on NPCs who live in: small towns, larger cities, forts, and a few secluded farm houses. NPCs found in caves, tombs, and Ashlander camps have not been replaced. I have also changed a few NPCs in the Vampire Clan locations. There are also a few women located around the world in exterior cells who have had their attire changed.

Some random gowns have also been added to the inventory of local clothiers. There is also a shop included that sells all the gowns, boots, and a selection of clothing from the original game. This shop can be found in Pelagiad. There are two eps included- one for Plain Morrowind, and another for the Tribunal Add-on. I have decided not to make a Bloodmoon Add-on version. Please do not use this mod and the Better Bodies Peasant Gown shop together."

For the anal...like me  :
TF_LONGBOAT REPLACER:

Just a small change to make ships docked at harbors not at full sail. Not much I know, but it's just more natural and realistic that way I guess.

THE DAEDRIC STATUE REPLACER:

"This plugin will replace the meshes and textures of all the Daedric statues in the game. In addition, the eyes of the "Talker" statues are now glowmapped with unique colours for that eerie sense of supernatural presence.

There are three different styles of statue: Gold Leaf, Marble, and Normal. As the names suggest, the first two retexture the statues to Gold and Marble white. The Normal version will not alter the static statues, but glowmaps the talker statues, using the original textures - in effect, a "purist" version."

Breton Voice Replacer:

replaces the male Breton voices in the game. Most likely a matter of opinion , but I think they sound better. It's reccomended that you play them before install though.

Wizards’ Islands

Wizards' Islands is the exception, the huge add-on with a large team that was actually finished. It took more than two years to get there, but at least...it arrived. :D How huge? From the readme:

Intense and Epic Multiple-Paths Storyline between 20 and 30 hours.
Over 400 "Cell" Areas.
Over 3 Hours of music.
Tons of characters.
New creatures, items, spells (only for a boss creature atm.) weapons & armors.
And... more cool stuff.

Some of the "cool stuff" includes weather damage (so cold that if you sleep outside, you'll take damage at night), curses to some exteriors that prevent levitation, quie a few difficult quests, new monsters (giappele, blood wasps, dark knights, etc), and well-balanced unique items.
