The first day I played Morrowind was the day I knew... It definitely needs horses. Different modes of transportation to get around BETWEEN the cities, not just from city to city. And, perhaps, when you go to different cities, you might needs "papers" to be allowed to enter, papers of the identification type. Well, maybe not to be able to get into cities, but I want identification for myself, dang it! I don't want to give it up to Casades. Identification was just a random thought, though. What I mainly want is a horse to get around by. And they have to have stables in cities where you can purchase them. Any size/color/breed. Well, size and breed don't matter, but color does. Hehe. I'm a horse fanatic. And you know what else I think would be awesome? If you could purchase your own house. Or have one built for you, might even be cooler. Buy some property. And then you could set up a barn and whatnot and have multiple horses so when one gets tired out or too old, you don't have to shoot him and can just keep him penned up. And perhaps not just horses... Maybe you could even buy your own boat to travel around in. And you could get caught in storms and you'd have to repair it every once in a while.
I think your character mainly needs more backround, though. Maybe you could find out clues throughout the game, and perhaps meet your family or distant cousin/uncle or something somewhere. I think that'd be pretty neat. I don't like not knowing about my guy. And why were you sent to prison, anyways? Many questions need answering.
One thing I hate about Morrowind... All the petty "errands" you have to run. I mean, come on. I'm the head of a House and I have to go find sload soap? They either need to cut back on the errands you're sent on, or they should give you errands that are more fitting of your position. And once you finally get to the top, I think you should be able to give people orders. Have THEM do some petty errands. Bah.
I think they really need to cut back on errands. I don't really have an alternative, but they get really old.
I have lots of little ideas. Like, maybe your character should have to eat to stay healthy. And maybe since he has to eat, you could be able to grow plants/crops on your property that you can buy. And you can go hunting, and fishing. I was all excited when I first saw a fishing pole sitting by a dock, so I picked it up and tried equipping it. Needless to say, I was disappointed that I couldn't catch any slaughterfish. Speaking of slaughterfish... I think they need some nice fishes. "Scribs of the sea." Oh yeah. And they'd be nice.
Ok, now, I think you should be able to make friends. Like, friends friends. Who actually like, LIKE you. I'm not talking "disposition up to 100" and all that poo, but people who will stick up for you and do stuff for you. And I guess this kinda goes in the category of better NPCs and how they act and stuff. So, yeah, I definitely agree on the need for more/different conversation topics and interaction. That's a definite MUST.
And you know, I just have this weird little idea about clothes getting dirty and ripped and stuff. Like, I wear the same robe all the time and it still looks brand new. But I run through lava, swim through water, walk on dust roads, fly through clouds, so I think it should be at least a tad bit tattered. And so you have to go buy new clothes and perhaps there's even a tailor in the town and he can either repair your old ones or CUSTOM MAKE new ones.
Maybe not, it was just an idea. And I think when you roll around in the mud, you should get dirty, and when you swim around in the lake, you should get wet, and the mud will wash off, and so on and so forth. Someone said something about more environment interaction, so I guess this would fall in that category. Maybe you could even get battle scars... I hear that in Fable, if you turn evil, your hair turns black and your face gets scarred. I think that's pretty cool. Anyways, on to the next!
I just have some little random thoughts... Like maybe after you finish the main quest, since it's open-ended, you could go on and become the governor of a town, and then possibly president/dictator (hehe) and... I dunno. Create an army and raid some other provinces. I know that all of this most likely isn't possible, because that would make this game HUGE. AND it would take years. Just ideas though. And perhaps you find a significant other and everyone's like "Aww..." and you live happily ever after.
And last but not least... This DEFINITELY HAS TO BE: MORE CHEATS FOR THE XBOXERS! All those computer types get all those mods and us xboxers only get dumb "invincibility" and "full magic" and "full fatigue" which really isn't all that it's said to be. Because you can still die. And still run out of magic. Anyways, those are my thoughts. Most, dumb, but the one thing that would truly make me happy and never get bored of the game.... A horse.
EDIT: Another thing, us xboxers should have an option to be able to drop everything at once. And then it could just appear on the ground as a little brown sack and you could open it and go, "Hm. I think I want to keep this and this and this, but that other stuff is crap. So I might come back for it later, but probably not." Or you could just be dropping it for a quick swim and then come pick it up again in one easy push of a button.
Also... I was thinking. Anyone think you should have to worry about thieves and such? Like, maybe if you have a house, people could break into it or they could steal your horse and you could seek them out and get it back? I dunno. Just a thought.
DOUBLE EDIT: I think, due to aggravating experiences, that if you pick up an item for a quest, you get a little notification that says, "You will need this item for a (Insert Guild name here) quest." Or maybe it doesn't even have to go that far. It could just say, "You will need this item later on." Same with people you kill. I know it does it for the main quest, but hey, we Morrowinders enjoy the side stories as well! It just annoys me when I sell something I need to have for later. I've only been selling to merchants in Balmora just in case I sell something I need.
THE END
