*blinks in awe*

whoa ...

what would it take to kill YOUR dragons, KensaiRyu??

A summoned Adamantine golem (even if you could do such a thing), hasted and strengthened to boot?

HEY! That gives me an idea!

Have your dragon cast haste/might/protection from magic weapons/simulacrum (yes, definitely simulacrum)/set all the devastation in a spell trigger sequence once he feels threatened.

This is the hardest part I find about defeating a certain vampire guarding the spike room before I fight Lassal ... what's her name? Starts with a D or something. She was very tough by herself.

I could have him do all that...but then people would complain that he used cheese tactics since dragons cant spells like that in the game...my dragons will just use AI to beat people.

Maybe I will make an improved version of the dragons with lots of hit points and immunites for people that really want a challenge.

But don't tell anybody what the immunitys are so we have to figure them out for ourselves.

PC casts wand of fire on dragon. No effect. Reload
PC cast want of frost on dragon. No effect. Relaod.......

That's called cheese? Well, that makes most mages and vamps as cheesy as cheese can get.

Ok ... um ... AI ... how about territorial instinct? A dragon's still sort of an animal, right?

Except for the Shadow Dragon (for those who have the wardstone), have your dragon immediately get anxious the moment he sees some son of a big-deal god waltzing into his lair with an assorted bunch of wannabe dragonslayers (it's a fact that we do like killing dragons to brag, right?)

It would be realistic to have the dragon initiate a conversation the moment he has a PC/NPC in sight. (Like saying "Excuse me, my dear puny fleshlings, but this is not the way to the restrooms if you're wondering ...")

Then the only way to defeat a Kensai-made dragon would be to make full use of the spacious dragon lairs to strategize by giving commands nonstop while battling. Really cool stuff.

I like this idea more than my range check and number check ideas thanks, I will incorporate that, that way they will not be able to set up at all in his lair. I could put a minion of his (Orc or something) at the entrance saying either leave now Or their will be a fight, (after the key is gotten from the mage and the initial dialogue with Firkagg I could start a cutscene and transport the party out of his lair.). Any more ideas?

Hopefully if I get the AI right it will be difficult. :)

And if you wanted I could make a spell to summon those for you.(Or an item) Or I could make an NPC Admantium golem that was semi-smart...But it might have trouble going through doors...

I can see it now:

Korgan: "You blasted tin can! U missed out on all the bloodshedding cause you could no fit in the room!"
Admantium Golem: ::Bashes wall down and comes after Korgan::"I show u bloodshedding!"
Edwin: "You two imbeciles knock it off."
Admantium Golem: "He started it"

(I know this implies that the golem is semi-intelligent but not all of them are mindless statues.)

*topples over with laughter*

I agree an NPC golem would be a blast of fresh fun! How about give it the ability to shapeshift to a human for crawling through dungeons, then back to its gargantuan (is that spelt right?) form when it's out in the open/in a big monster lair?

Oh, and I finished going through all the stuff you sent me, Kensai. Somehow I find the "how to make your own NPC in 100 easy steps" document lacking in a lot of areas, as I'm planning to make a full-fledged vampire as an NPC (I'm usually overambitious when it comes to manipulating codings--it's all the way or nothing) ... so ... help?

I got a silver dragon Npc that shapeshifts into an elf female (she likes the look) unfortunetly I am having problems with her dialogue and am waiting on info from Cat at Teambg to see what the problem is.Other than that she is ready to go.

To create your own NPCs you will need info from the Infinity Engine File Format Hacking Project.

I will send you an updated IFFHP text file that shows the breakdown of the cre files as you will need it to assign custom scripts and death variables, even if you use shadowkeeper 2.0 to create your NPC.

I also recommend you download Infinity Explorer at:
http://infexp.sourceforge.net/

This utility will help alot.

Use Shadowkeeper 2.0 ( http://www.mud-master.com/shadowkeeper/index.html ) to export a vampire from SOA and edit it to how you want.(hps thaco etc...)
If you have any more questions post here and I will respond as soon as I see them.

I am not sure I can use that info because it is coded in the cre file's at hex location 0x0241 and refers to the RACE .IDS file (the racial enemy part). I do not think it is possible to check the characters for that...might...be...though,lemme look into it.

I could have them prioritize cavaliers however, maybe a step above fighters?

KR

Can you make the back half of the lair off limits - so that if the group tries to spread out and surrond - the dragon goes hostile?

I quit look forward to fighting that dragon of yours KR
I didn't really bounce Eeyore. I had a cough, and I happened to be behind Eeyore, and I said "Grrrr-oppp-ptschschschz."

Tom yeah im torn between making it go hostile (start dialog warning them to back up first) at a certain range, or just keeping them out of the lair altogether until its combat time.

If I keep em out of the lair, no summons before battle, if i let em stay in the lair, they can get off three or four spells (or more especially if its a spell caster heavy group) before Firkagg rushes over to them, which could be aerial servants or fire elementals which are pretty strong in quantity and hasted.

Also Manveru's and my Pantheon project will use at least one of my improved AI dragons maybe more, as well as buffed version of a dragon that can cast level 9 magic and has plenty of hit points, truly a challenge.
