What would you wish on Baldurs Gate 3?
Inteligence of the monsters affecting the AI is great, you see dumb orcs like Gromnir beat the snot out of you use potions and all the tachtics they can find, not realistic.
Reuse citties and a lot more of them, BG1 had a lot of citties and i loved that.
Ability to travel betwen lasts such as Amn and Calishman and so on, they should be on the map for those willing to travel to them to do quests and so on.

I'd like to see
like skuld said more areas that have nothing to do with the storyline in ToB there was only 1 of these Watchers keep
More Npcs in BG1 there was around 30, BG2 maybe 15, Nwn 7 or 8, NwN SoU only 3 !!!!! what an outrage!!! There should atleast be a Npc for every class. In BG2 it was impossible to have say a monk and a kensai fighter in your party at the same time.
New storyline, Bhaal series is over
ooohhhh and by the way im 14 and i dont need uberweapons and spells and easygame to keep me happy i'd like a game with challenging battles where you have to reload many times and even small things like your partys position can decide the outcome of the battle.
id also like more miniquests
start the game at lvl 1 and finish at around level 25.
new classes maybe (not a big priority)
New spells i guess and dimension door it was in BG1 but not BG2 i liked that spell (anyone know why they removed it???)

I've been stopping myself from reinstalling BG2:SoA for a few days now, I had thought that BG3 was definately never going to be made until I saw an announcement mentioning this as well as NWN2.. here are my wants.
1) Top-Down Isometric view: This is what, for me, clearly distinguised BG2 from some of the more recent RPGs like Morrowind or NWN. The graphics in the game can be considered 'artwork', while as pretty as some of the more recent games are, they dont prevoke the same emotion.
2) No inescapable betrayals: As anyone who has played Bg2 or NWN knows, there are parts of the story that you cannot avoid, parts that involve being betrayed by those you call allies. For me this totally ruins any replayability.. Why should I help out Shandar the wise old monk when I know that 2 chapters from now he will reveal himself as Bobbob, Archlich of Hell.. betrayal is obviously a powerful tool in storytelling, but incorporating it as a linear twist in a plot just doesn't work for me.
3) Ownership: One of the features I most enjoyed in BG2 was playing as a Druid and gaining ownership of the grove. I don't want to get all 'Sims' here, but being able to permanently affect a piece of the games geography is a really thrilling idea to me, especially when ownership of that area can affect you as well by invasions, sickness, past-owners claiming ownership.. etc..
4) NPC dialogue: Have a look at the NWN expansions and the NPC dialogue that was put in. This is something that BG2 had, it was not put into NWN and that was a mistake. CPRGs are not PnP RPGs, but having your NPCs chant amongst themselves gives a little of the social back into a game, plus.. they're funny..
5) Vastness: Faerun is huge.. use it..
That's all for now...
Gee I hope they make this game approach what we all wish...

How about a couple of areas you can go to to get in random battles? They didn't have a lot of those on BG 2. Although, in TOB they had the mercenary guys you could keep fighting in Amkethran and the little dwarve guys or whatever they were in Sendai's enclave that you could keep killing.

That's why I made my comment about the necesity of wilderness areas. There's plenty of space between cities, towns, and any place of note you can think of. Please put that "empty" space to use. And like has been said, faerun is huge, use it. And about the "more classes" comment. There will only be as many classes as there are in 3.5 dnd which ir probably the system used unless wizards, in all their infinite wisdom, decides to change the rules AGAIN.

I'd love to see ownership and membership, Clerics are almost never on their their own they belong to organisations, churches etc, Paladins by the code MUST be part of a paladins order or a church of their god, and they must respect the orders rules, and donate part ( most ) of their gold to the guild, in return they are given equipment, quarters, service, quests etc.
Druids are allowed by their code to chalange within groves for membership/ownership, rogues can join guilds, bards can preform in bars, inns, taverns, for nobility etc.
BG2 Spoilers below.
I dont understand what they where thinking with Saemon and his betrails that pissed me off so much, and i hated playing through the game only to have to listen to that idiot play games with you and then betray you, both in SOA AND in TOB, i hated that so much, i meen give me a brake here since when was an avatar of good or an evil slaughterer forced to go down to the level of a retarded rogue to find a way of some island or get into a monestary.
Sure it would be good to have an option too go that way, but i definatly see at least 6 other ways to do the same thing, theres other ships in the port, why cant he just ask for passage on one of those or if the character is evil, why not just start a slaughter and take the ship over, or why cant a monk join Balthazars oder in TOB or why cant a mage who can summon comets and stop time teleport over the monestary gates?
Those are just some simple options to substitute for a stupid betrail, i really really hated not having another option in those cases.

Saying that "Faerun is huge" is a little bit of an understatement. I just looked at a map of Faerun, and I would use a word like "gi-normous" or maybe "freakin huge!!!" Anyways, I looked at a map of just the Sword Coast after that and realized that the entire BG series takes place in about 1/5 to 1/4 of the area of the Sword Coast. I think it would be amazing if they could make a game that covers the entire Sword Coast from Calimsham to Icewind Dale. I realize that that may be a bit too vast for games being created now, but maybe someday....

Thing is, the games called Baldur's Gate, so its gotta have atleast something to do with that, or the Bhaal plot, hopefully the later doesn't come too much into play, but that means Baldurs gate is essential to the plot. So I'm not sure if they could drag in the WHOLE sword coast, along with that being a humungous area, bg1 had enough area, I spent so many hours scouring the wilderness (I have something about the visual fog, I can't leave any on the screen, heh.) So it would take me months to scour it, which I guess would be good, but I think a bit too much. It would be nice to explore beyond sword coast, for example the arabic land (I forgot the name) its supposed to be quite abundate in magical wepeons though, so I'm not quite sure how that would go..

It doesn't necessarily have to involve Baldur's Gate, as Baldur's Gate 2 didn't. I do believe, however, that the city of Baldur's Gate will likely be included.
Also, I comletely hear ya about the visual fog. I would spend hours getting rid of it too, and then i would get mad when I couldn't get rid of it all because of a hill or something
.
The fact that it would take months to scour works against me. I don't have a lot of free time during the school year, so I typically only play long games like this during the summer or Christmas break. There's nothing worse than only being able to play for about an hour or less a day. It's barely enough time to get started.

NPCs is always the sore point - in my opinnion - in cRPGs.
NPCs needs to be alive - thus I would really love to see a game where they move around and interact with each other and the game world. Also - I'd like to see various factions amongst the NPCs, so that if you help faction X alot, faction Y would be reluctant to have anything to do with you.
NPCs *need* to be alive otherwise the world can very quickly get a static feel where the PC is the only one "alive".
The storyline is the hot item in a possible BG3 - there are many pitfalls if they are to be somewhat relevant to the BG-series in more then name.
But a deep and epic story would be nice, however - what it should be about is difficult matter.
What I would really like to see - is some depth and scope again. Since BG2 most games "boats" of a 40-50 hour campaign. That is simply not enough if the game is to be focused on single player. I don't know why this standard has become de facto, but it annoys me tremendously. Take ressources from graphics if extra is needed, but please provide an epic game in both depth and scope.
I agree with EVERY SINGLE WORD of yours!
I'd love to see more fun with NPCs, and a story that is similar (in quality) to the Bhaalspawn story, aaaand a huge area that takes months to explore, with hidden treasures, of course. Ah, how nice it would be to play a game that mathces BG II's quality again...

[QUOTE=fable]For the love of god make good items hard to get, again unlike in BG2 where you can buy all the good items from your first citty or find them in the second chapter ( celestial fury, carsomyr, bonus cd merchants, ribalds shop, 2 dragons to fight for items and dragon armors, plus a LOAD of magical items to sell for money or use to complement the ones you have, need i go on? ) , again this was a huge disapointment for in BG2.

Er... Was it that easy for you to find all parts of the Gesen Bow, and Crom Faeyr? Well, I was astonished when I saw it in a walktrhough that I can get weapons like those if I look carefully... But maybe that's because I was a beginner by that time

A few of the good weapons takes some time to find, but you can get a +4 staff just after you exit Irenicus start dungeon for instance.
The overpowered weapons are far to easy to come by.

And what about the Pantaloons enigma? I read about it, but don't know what's the reward if I complete that quest (do you know?). I guess that's really hard, especially that it starts back in BG I. I don't think many players found that out for the first time! Just think about the beginners: for those who play BG for the first time it's quite a challenge even to complete the main quests, they have no experience to look for hidden treasures and stuff. Maybe it would be the best to hide some easy to gain, bit more powerful items and hide much better weapons that are harder to find, so that both beginners and experienced players would find treasure hunting challenging
BTW, are there really powerful stuff hidden in IWD II?

I don't recall what game it was, but I do vaguely remember something of a new game coming out with a story written by R.A. Salvatore. Why not enlist one of the forgotten realms writers out there to come up with a story? I'm sure they'd love to do it, hell if I were a fantasy writer I'd love to see one of my stories actually fleshed out.

I'd like to see more awesome characters on your party. Like Sarevok. That was so awesome when he asked to join you in ToB!
But who are we kidding, you guys probably know right now that they're either gonna just do some of the things we ask for, or try to do all of them. But by having so many things, they are all poorly done. Or they're going to try and expand on our ideas and just make them suck.
That's it, I'm gonna try to do it myself. I've already got a bad-a$$ plot all written out. See you at the end of the year!

No probalo.
Why don't you go check out the thread entitled "PC gamer has some information on BGIII." From what I understand BGIII will take place generations before the bhaalspawn saga, so no more talk of recurring NPC's.
