I guess I do have it installed.
However the servant just mentioned he might be in umar because he was in the scouts.
I'll load back and chat again to him, I hope it works.
You need to talk with Suna Seni in the Copper Coronet to spawn Valygar (assuming you have Unfinished Business v13 installed). She gives you some details on how the two of them were lovers once, and that Valygar has a mysterious past (dum de dum dum!!).
Also, can I install SOA (official) Patch without ruining my mods?
No!! Don't do this!
Install the patches first, then mods. And if you have ToB installed, you don't need the SoA patch. (You do, however, need the ToB patch!)

As the Great MacGoonigal says, the official patches must come first. Then install any Baldurdash patches you wish; then, the various mods. There are several threads that recommend specific orders for mod installation.

Too late.
Had to do it so I could talk to people again, the damn "is too busy" thing drove me mad. (I really did think I installed the TOB patch before all the mods, guess I forgot.
Oh well, I'll try to play it now, I hope beyond hope my saves still work. (no reason they shouldn't.

ARG!
More bugs, now when I load my old saves, I can talk to people, thats great. However, Kelsey is called "Captain Pudu, Captain of the guard of the legion of the chameria, He is undoubtly the master of overkill"
Now, he is still a sorcerer. However, whenever he casts of talks I just see the big random bit of text in dark blue and bold. Once when I fought some thugs (to get the body of some harper) one of the thugs said "Captain Pudu's Halberd ..." and gave me the stats for this halberd.
Also Kelseys journal says "Kelsey is hiding now" or something equaly stupid. What the **** is happening?!

me0w, me0w, me0w. Tsk tsk tsk.
I am looking into your future... The mists are clearing... I see... I see - a complete reinstall of BG2 happening shortly!
Sorry mate, but that is the only way to fix the situation you have gotten into. You will have to reinstall the game. Remember - patches then mods!

Oh man, 2 reinstalls in about 2 days.
I really hope this works. I've done a fair bit so far, Don't want to have to replay the start again. Especially with improved Illithid.
Well, wish me luck. I'll do the reinstalling later today, but for now, its time to pick up where I left off on IWD.

Two reinstalls? Then you got lucky if it works this time. I did about five reinstalls before I got the game to work with all those mods. But the result is nice - I'm almost at the end of TOB now with only one or two very minor bugs.
Remember the sequence:
1. BG2 Full install
2. TOB Full install
3. TOB Patch
4. Baldurdash Game Text Update
5. Baldurdash Fixpack
6. Mods
Some mods require the Baldurdash fixpack, so don't forget it. I also recommend that you make a clean backup of your BG2 directory after step 5, so that if some mods screw your game up, just delete the directory and copy the backup, then reinstall the mods. HDD space shouldn't be a problem these days.

Huh, I've got a ton of mods installed, and have not experienced any problems so far (knock on wood). I think the important thing to remember is to follow the procedure as Ieldra outlined!
Good luck me0w! Hope it works.

Ok, guys just incase anyone else gets this problem, I figured its due to "Weimer-ItemUpgrade-v32" I thought it could be that. The thing is when I install it after Kelsey it must override his name file.
When I installed it, just before Kelsey, it started to work again, he now is kelsey (can use kelsey only items again) however, he is now called "cats paw dagger +3, and his biogrophy now states info on his wepeon - and when he is attacked the wepeon stats are also suddenly shown in the info menu)
An odd thing is, I loaded up a fairly old save file of mine, just before I joined up kelsey, and the odd thing is, he is called Kelsey there. Is there anyway I can get his name back to normal. (I'm going to try and e-mail the maker of the Kelsey mod, to see if he has any ideas.
Well thanks for putting up with so many pages of my complaints and problems.

You probably should let the "Weimer-ItemUpgrade-v32" guy know as well. I currently have the ItemUpgrade mod installed, but not Kelsey, so I have not encountered any problems there.
I suspect that the two mods are probably using the same file for certain items or components of their internal structure. It may not be fixable, and the two mods may be incompatible - at least until new versions come out.

I don't think there's a mod incompatibility involved. Probably it's one of these:
1. Randomly occurring string confusion. Seems to happen with many mods. Many mods include a string fixer script. Kelsey does but I don't remember how it's activated. Try talking to Kelsey and look if there is an option where you tell him that he looks odd, or something similar.
2. Problem with using saved games after having installed an additional mod under existing ones. I have had this quite often: if you add mods over the existing ones or uninstall mods starting with the uppermost, then you should be OK. However, if you change your mod order in any other way, especially if it results in a new mod component inserted between two formerly consecutive ones, or changed versions of existing components, then string references may get confused when you load a saved game. If this occurs, and the string fixer can't fix it, there's no solution other than *exactly* restoring the previous mod component order.
My recommendation: if you have a working mod configuration, stick with it until you're finished with your current game. Do not change components, and especially do not change mod versions until your game is finished. Absolutely no install or re-install activity until you're ready to start a new game.
If you have have mod components that you *might* want to uninstall at some time during your game, install them last of all so that the uninstall procedure doesn't mess up other mods.
