I'd have to get drunk every night and talk about virility...And those Pink elephants I'd see.
I should have been more clear.....like Aegis said..I believe to cover it better more people from different time zones need to be installed in SYM.Originally posted by Mr Sleep:

No problem with apologising for a mistake and stating that one was incorrect. Thanks anyway AegisOriginally posted by Aegis:

Everything is down to interpretation, i just happened to interpret what you said incorrectly it's no big deal. You are correct of course, if i am not mistaken aren't you from a different time zone to EuropeOriginally posted by Weasel:

Yes I'm from the US But I will not and will not be asking for SYM. I'm too polluted to have this postition and could not help in it.Originally posted by Mr Sleep:

You on the other hand will be a good mod in SYM..right along with..(IMO) C Elegans and Fable.

Aegis,
I am not suggesting teenagers cannot keep up with older members or break rules more often. I am well aware there are many older members who cannot handle certain situation and cause more problem in the forum than younger members. It is simply the fact some posts should not been seen by the minors in the first place, regardless if you can cope with them or not. I know you have more knowledge of computer and game than myself, and I have nothing to against you if the moderator's job is limited to games, computing, and RPG. The question is, whether you will notice and can handle some ugly situation constantly happen in the forum (particularly in the SYM), and can deal with members like Baassie.
I am sorry if my posts offend you (or anyone) in anyway, but I am still not happy with the happenings in the SYM past months, and lack of strong voice there during that time. I just hope new moderators, whoever they are, will be aware what we are posting in the forum.

Thanks Weasel Fable is a good idea, but CE has too much work to do i would vote for her if it wasn't for the time problems.Originally posted by Weasel:

The only problem a member has is preconceeptions, most posters now me as sleep the spammer (master ) would they respect the authority of one such as myself?
@Minerva Also There are certain words and phrases that Aegis would not be aware of i could give examples but it would not be a good idea. No offence intended Aegis, IMO no one 16 should know the words/phrases i am referring to.

I personally don't have any preconceeptions, I know you would do a great job. It comes down to the ability to be able to separate 'being on sides'. A moderator can not be basied to either side. From reading your post, I believe you feel the bill.Originally posted by Mr Sleep:

Now if you used words in another language to cuss me out I wouldn't understand.....but don't underestimate young teens. Some know words that would make a sailor bluss. There are certain words and phrases that Aegis would not be aware of i could give examples

@Minerva: No offense taken. My generation are a bunch of loud mouth yahoos who think they're all that be, really they know squat. I've been around since the beginning of SYM, and have seen pretty much everything posted, and done on that forum, minus the posts from between May and June. And because I associeate with people older than me in real life, I could gaurentee I could handle it. As Weasel said, don't uderestimate the Teenage generation.
@Sleep: I doubt there is little that you can say that would phase me. Please, indulge me in this one, and send a PM explaining some of these phrases.

Gruntboy would be great in Icewind Dale. Fable and C Elegans would both do a great job in SYM. I'd be willing to look after the BG2 or ToB sections, but there are others much wiser and who have been here longer than I. I'm sure Buck will choose the right folks for the job.
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

@Buck: Excellent choices, I hope everyone is as happy about them as I am.
Re. qualifications for the moderator position: I hope noone is offended by this, but MPO is that few teenagers would be suitable as Mods, very much for reasons already mentioned by Sleep and Minerva. (Aegis is an exception though, I think he would be an excellent Mod.)
About the "long time spammer" question, I certainly don't think a Mod position should be a reward for "long and faithful service", but I do think a Mod should be used to and deeply familiar with the culture here at GB, especially a SYM mod. No offense to KK or other more recent members, this is simply a question of a need for a type of information that we can only gain over time.
Re. myself: Thanks to you who have suggested I would make a good Mod. I'm very flattered, and I would actually have volonteered for the position, if it weren't for two factors:
1. My job is very irregular and sometimes, I don't have time to even check in here for several days. Such intense work periods will probably increase during the winter and next year.
2. I enjoy debates about controversial issues, and I have strong opinions that I air (perhaps too often ). If I were a Mod, I would not find it suitable to write this kind of posts, and there would also be a risk that newcomers would pay more attention to, or feel my posts had "more weight", just because I was a Mod. This of course applies to every Mod, but the debate style I have would be less apt for a Mod than for instance Fable's or Sleep's discussion styles.
