as I said in the other post, try the Icewind Gate. It has IWD2 character creation but BG2 storyline. I have not tried it yet but when I get bored at IWD2 I will.

Try the weidu mods. But they still won't make it BG2 ;)

It helps when the game supports your roleplaying. Ygoug gave my party a "Sure Strike Shock Club" (see weapon stats on this web sight). This was the absolute perfect weapon for my big dumb 1/2 orc cleric of Talos. He hasn't put down the club from the second he got it and may use it till the very end of the game (pending future weapon drops - the static club +5 would be awesome). This was especially nice because my 1/2 cleric had already specialized in maces.

Brutal is the perfect word for that character. He's got 22 stength and is beating my warrior for exp killed. His spells are also keeping pace and totally matches his brutality. He is the ultimate deciple of Talos.

I like Asimar bards and priests. I could see them worshiping Ilmater, Helm, or Lathander.

I like Tiefling rogues/wariors and rogues/wizards.

Dwarves are perfect priests or warriors.

Wild Elf druids.

Humans can be anything.

Essensially IWD2 is all about powergaming or oddity gaming (that is making truly odd characters and make them work). It is indefinately more interesting than roleplaying with a bitmap imo. So you have to do nonsense like saying "I roleplay a Barbarian by having him use a Greataxe of Deah and Doom and Torture ('coz I'm EVIL)."

So you play EVIL characters. If you were roleplaying you might have wanted to tell me... y'know... WHY they are EVIL. Buts its IWD2 so I can see where you are coming from :)

no tell me

i personally LOVE evil parties. But DO YOU reckon i COULD fit that in with a ranged character. what KIND OF EVIL storyline COULD i give him?

Thanks ;)

When it comes to actual role playing, I don't do evil. I don't do good. This usually means I don't mix well with D&D. Its just too easy for a "good" character to act evilly (Keldorn in BG2 for example with his blatant racism). Or for an "Evil" character to act good (Viconia in BG2 for example with her trust in the main character) without breaking the rules of their alignment.

So instead, I give you... a little mad:
A ranger is so into things natural that he considers cities evil and goes out of his way to destroy them. He thinks he's leaving them messages to teach them the goodness of nature, but the children in the house he just burned down wouldn't agree.

A little power hungry:
A ranger thinks that she doesn't get the respect she deserves. She uses all means at her disposal to force other people, even her party mates into fearing her, as she confuses fear and respect.

The options go on. They don't even have to be very creative... My two options aren't.
