Now Potty's romance with Ginny is... weird. That is really weird. It comes out of nowhere. Goes nowhere. And all of a sudden he is with her. I dunno.
I'm not sure what Rowling was thinking about when she wrote that, either. This book was not overly impressive...neither was the last. I think she's running out of plot ideas. This book had WAY to much random romance. I find it highly doubtful that all the main charcters would date each other and so many new people in one year.

The way she has made the book this time, she put way too much into the development area. This was not a good idea. She had problems really moving the plot overall forward. I dont think we established more than 2 major events. I was unimpressed.

This book was predictable. She has set the groundworks for another book. If she doesnt try dragging it out by the part 1 theory, then she is going to have a long book full of meaningless conversations and things tat dont really matter, like in the last one.

@Aegis: I have a sudden feeling of forbodding... I can't believe a Canadian is doing this to a Canadian! Are you married?...thats the only reason... ;)

I have a feeling you are at wits end. I'll spam elsewhere. ;)
Yeah, but I just like to disagree with everybody :D
Heheh no, you dont, you like to show your points, you feel proud :D The Pantless Crusader cant stop, aye?

I'm with Vondondu. Potty romance was something unexpected even by madam Rowling. I guess that thing was serious when she said she wanted to break her arm to be able to stop writing and make the pressure stop for a while, maybe it affected her a lot on the two last books.

I particulary liked the way Potty uses the second scar he has (on the back of his hand) to deal with the Ministry.

Anyone with me in the Draco Werewolf theory?

lol :D Where does that idea come from?

Someone mentioned that it's odd that DD couldn't defend himself when he was supposed to be the greatest wizard...
There's definitely something wrong with that. I have always wondered why it was always Harry (and his friends) who had to do the hard job (defeating Quirrel, saving Ginny, saving Sirius, fighting Voldie face to face, etc...) when DD was usually gone for the whole year (or at least didn't do anything significant) and arrived only after the final to recover Harry and pat him on the back for the good job. How come he never ever intervened? If it was his main goal to protect Harry (as we know it was), he, well, almost failed 5 times, to say the least. It wasn't for him that Harry overcame those encounters... This is really weird for me and kind of questions DD's greatness.

*spoilers ahead*

@Brynnie: He often disappear in the room, but also, he disappears in the quidditch match and isnt seen for ages, only to return all tired, with dark eyes, and stuff - so that may be a sign that he's not only being protected by Snape, but being sent that elixir for werewolves. Also, he says "its a family friend" and stuff, and in the end who is one of the firsts to get there ahead of DD?
Also, regarding your DD thought... Lets say that IMO DD will prove to have had a spell or two to grant success of Harry and had to keep protecting the other children :D Of course, in the first one Harry is saved by Dumbledore when he's found uncounscious (he retrieves Quirrel's burning hands from Harry's neck) and in the second year when he is loyal to DD, all of a sudden the Phoenix arrives, and he's given a weapon. So I guess DD helped him a lot, but dont wanted to show himself or had put a protection spell under the boy that'll prevent him from being killed.
Strange was the fact that the Death Eaters were confronted by Hagrid when escaping and werent able to curse him properly (not even with the unescapable spell, the Avada).
This whole book is kinda strange, I honestly hope that she gets a lot of inspiration to close all the holes that makes the story seem to leak.

/shrug
I guess he's only weak from the stress and maybe some mental training... What advantage would a form of a werewolf provide?
Of course"]
That's exactly what I'm saying - DD always comes AFTER the last moment... Harry could've been killed, not just unconscious when he found him...

Why, giants are known for their magic resistance. (Though the Avada is really strange, why is it such a feared spell if it can't kill nor a baby neither a giant...)

Well, making him a terror among the kids. Besides, his mother asks Snape to protect the life of Draco at any costs. That can tie it to a werewolf Draco fighting a Ron Weasley or Hermione Granger while Potter fights Snape.

Of course, this is just my speculation :D

I also think Sirius will return, his death was not really a death. He took a trip to some other dimension.

Now I bet when Potter reach the age of 17 he'll curse his cousin first thing in the day :D

DD was incapacitated by the eight goblets of poison he drank to reach the Horcrux. Voldemort is actually more powerful than DD when it comes to Dark Magic, so I'm not surprised that his concoction could disable even his most powerful enemies.

I don't like to read about "behind the scenes" information, but from what I've read, J.K. Rowling had a pretty rough year while she was writing Book 6. For one thing, she was pregnant and she probably felt like she had other things to do besides write a book. And generally speaking, writing seems to be more of a chore for her now that so many people with conflicting expectations expect perfection from her. I've said myself that I wish a few things had been different, especially in Goblet of Fire. But these books are still some of the most entertaining stories I've ever read, so I try not to complain.
