I made the bulk of my cash from the dungeon, the little graveyard things, and looting Mae'var's place and the thieves guild (you can plunder right in front of them and they don't even care:laugh:

guild

the thieves' lock-testing room is pretty bountiful - I recall up to rougue stone and decent thief equipment.

swiping the ring of regen from Ribald is a bit of justice.

the woman flogging scrolls in there deserves to be robbed; condescending female bovine!
...and the scrolls are XP in written form - not that a level 8 mage will be using death spell/wish.

slightly OT - notice how in the really big XP rewards, they do it per character not shared out - you need to know when rewards are shared out and when they are individual - timing that right can influence level-ups. with a small party (3 at present) scrolls can be used to push characters over the cusp of level-up so you can get them rested with those new spells before taking on difficult parts of a quest.

BTW the guard at the city gates had a Sphere of Chaos scroll when I pocketed him - not bad for a grunt, eh?

I feel the same way about the potion hawker in the Bridge District, and that gnarly thief down in one of the dungeons is another.

When playing a kensai/mage, I would always save every scroll found in the beginner dungeon. Then I'd disband my party, and go off to study for a while. Nearly worked my character up to the point of being able to use those kensai skills, again: roughly 9 levels.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
