Hey, it wasn't me who got that idea going... This is probably the result of socialising with you, DW. :p :D

You once warned me about getting corrupted like the rest here at GB, and I blissfully (and innocently :angel :) ignored that... Too bad. Should I have left then?

It would have been too late to try to leave...even then... :p

"Hotel California"

On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance, I saw shimmering light
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
I had to stop for the night
There she stood in the doorway;
I heard the mission bell
And I was thinking to myself,
'This could be Heaven or this could be Hell'
Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor,
I thought I heard them say...

Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place (Such a lovely place)
Such a lovely face
Plenty of room at the Hotel California
Any time of year (Any time of year)
You can find it here

Her mind is Tiffany-twisted, she got the Mercedes Benz
She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys she calls friends
How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat.
Some dance to remember, some dance to forget

So I called up the Captain,
'Please bring me my wine'
He said, 'We haven't had that spirit here since nineteen sixty nine'
And still those voices are calling from far away,
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say...

Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place (Such a lovely place)
Such a lovely face
They livin' it up at the Hotel California
What a nice surprise (what a nice surprise)
Bring your alibis

Mirrors on the ceiling,
The pink champagne on ice
And she said 'We are all just prisoners here, of our own device'
And in the master's chambers,
They gathered for the feast
They stab it with their steely knives,
But they just can't kill the beast

Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
'Relax,' said the night man,
'We are programmed to receive.
You can check-out any time you like,
But you can never leave!'

One word: Brilliant.

We should modify that to greet newcomers to the GB forums, and to SYM in particular. Though that'll probably scare 'em away. :D

... simply because you can scare them but they can't get away! :D

Whatever happens, they are stuck here. There's no more going back. Sure, they can run... but they still end up here at SYM.

edit - wait a minute... we're spamming this thread too much, we are now off-topic so maybe we can realign ourselves again. ;)

That is, of course, if the thread starter does mind. :)

Hmmm... I wonder if this was a "because we can" case or if they actually saw some kind of use in glowing, green cats?

Think of the marketable value. Authentic glow-in-the-dark cats for sale, children will be begging parents for ages for a radioactive-looking kitten in the window. And when lil kitty gets lost, you'll see her dashing across the road at night instead of missing them until you feel the "thump" as you turn a black cat into worm food. If the cat gets lost in the house, say under furniture or under a bed, just turn off the lights, and the glow will lead you to them. The cat will never be able to be alone again; humans will have the ability to keep a constant eye on them. Just think of how much money we can make!

I don't think it's so much of a need as it is a want. same reason people breed differnt qualities into different breeds.

if cloning cats w/ glowy qualities is playing god...is breeding qualities into animals, such as hairless cats or dogs that are super extroridinairly cute, or whatever strange trait they wouldn't normally have playing god too?

All these genetically modified pets are known as designer pets. Why own a normal wallet when you can have bearing the Clavin Klien tag? Same thing applies here. Why own a normal cat when you can have one which glows like a night light?

There would be serious reprecussions, however. The glowstick industry would grind to a halt, and thousands upon thousands of workers would be out of a job. That is because ravers can now use their arms instead of glowsticks, and not worry about breaking them open and drinking their insides while they're drunk/high/being emo.
