That request knocks Cid out mid ramble "Wha-wha-what?!?" Cid stutters, "I will simply not allow it, it's bad enough that you are being a poor role model for Soloman, last thing I need you to do is infect others with your bad habits and barbaric adventuring. I simply will not allow it!" Cid says with a huff before folding his arms across his chest. You consider discussing the matter more, but by this time the carrivan has arrived at the docks and people have begun to spill out of the one mode of transportation and onto the other awaiting them at the docks.

The fine vessel you and the rest of the guild seem to be moving into is the "Naughtwulf", at the head of the ship there are two beings standing on the edge looking with disgust as the guildmen step on. One of them is a giant burly Dornish man, with blonde hair and beard and large frame. His face seems to be almost a tanned leather from all the exposure to sun. His pants seem to be hemmed multiple times and very little of the original pant bottom remain. His upper body is outfitted with a chainmail shirt with metal shoulder pads and a wolf fur vest over that. He is resting his foot atop of a ship tool.
Behind him is his second in command, you can't make out much about the character since he is fully clothed from head to toe in padded armor, with only a metal helm to break up the look.
Listen check:3+1=4
The captain seems to be practically shouting something to his second in command who may or may not be listening. Cid is still complaining, "What terrible, terrible people... are you sure this is the right ship?"
Soloman rolls his eyes, "They know the eastern seas well and they have one of the best ships money can buy."
"They look like pirates", says Cid with contempt. "They probably are.", replies Soloman cooly, to which Cid goes deathly silent with.
After getting your gear to the top of the ship you look back to see that both the drow and Byggvir seem to be struggling with getting there luggage up the ramp.
Also for your information, Dorn are a race of human that inhabit the northern mountains, traditionally they are known for having strong ties to the dwarves of that area exchanging tools, weapons and armor for food, animal pelts and other necessities. Their traditional lifestyles called for Dornish people to be both strong and adhere to their rules of honour.
Over time many Dorns left the mountain kingdoms and either travelled south and became raiders or travelled the western seas as "vikings". In modern days it is not uncommon to see them this far down south, but they most certainly take on more exciting and adventurous lifestyles.
Khannon, Ragh'null & Azhag
Since Ragh'null is out of the massive shadow of the cone and is high up in the sky with only the shrine like building to guard him from the sun he recieves a -1 to both checks (but not a full -1 since he is in some shade)
Knowledge: Architecture... 15+5-1 = 20-1=19
Search (stonework)... 8+11-1 = 19-1=18
Ragh'null examines the stone statue and notices that while the tiles on the plateau are only on the surface the statue itself seems to be attached to the interior of the building overall. Thus explaining why the statue can still manage to stay attached to the building despite the harsh angle. Also the statue is made of solid stone and seems to have been made to take a fair amount of abuse. Also considering the statues' Colossal size you would would wisely suggest against attacking the statue since Khannon's fists are more like turn to a bloody pulp before the statue will ever give.
Using your knowledge of engineering you notice that the chains in the giant's statue hands come and go from the inside of the giant cone like base of the vault. The only difference is that it seems the chains link the eastern edge of the cone to some sort of mechanism that is located under the statue, that only the creator knows is how deep. This leads you to believe that the hands and the whole statue are just an aesthetically pleasing (to the lover of nude men) way of creating a giant set of two pulleys for the two chains. Which you expect may just be one massive chain that is looped around a turbine or similar engine, but to that you can only theorize what it is and what purpose it may have served.
Yelling back at Azhag, he considers the situation, "I don't know how you could do anything about prying loose the statue, but what about if you tried pulling at the chains, you could try hooking the grappling hook to one of the chains and try pulling. worst comes to worst and you can't effect the chains you might be able to use the rope and the statue as a sort of lever to rip the doors off the hinges, just hooking the rope around the doors handle. Right?"
Both of you consider his plan B, you're not sure if it would work but you do know that the door lacks handles, but you might try hooking it through something on that statues attached to the door, but even then... You would still need a way to reach the door from this steep incline.
Maybe his plan A had some merit, but which of the 4 chain spots would you hook it up to, and would the two of you be even able to move such a chain?

"We could also use a small knife or dagger to create a hole, and then use the grappling hook as a wedge to pry open the door.
There are so many things we could try so I'll save my jumping and leg breaking move for later, lets just go with one of the other suggestions."

"Okay, before we pursue our initial thoughts of violence against the doors or statue any further, consider the following. While below, I heard the rumbling of machinery within. Perhaps the device that opens these doors still operates and, perhaps, we may yet find a way to activate it from out here. Surely the creators of this monolith have designed it so.Yelling back at Azhag, he considers the situation, "I don't know how you could do anything about prying loose the statue, but what about if you tried pulling at the chains, you could try hooking the grappling hook to one of the chains and try pulling. worst comes to worst and you can't effect the chains you might be able to use the rope and the statue as a sort of lever to rip the doors off the hinges, just hooking the rope around the doors handle. Also consider that we are trespassers and that destructive acts may not be received well by those who are inside. If there is anyone or anything inside, there is yet the chance to be greeted as guest or maybe even *rescuer*. Again, it is clear that something unintended has occurred here. And rescue might warrant reward.
So let me investigate further before we try to force our way."
[Ragh'nuul collects the rope and grapple from Khannon]
(yells up) "Azhag, I am going to throw this hook towards you! Collect it and hook it onto something secure up there!"
Use Rope: 9 + 8 = 17
[once Azhag secures the rope, I use it to pull myself up to the vault structure and door]
Climb 20 + 7 = 27
[If I made it, I check the lock for magical wards or nearby runes that might give us a hint how to start the device or open any of the doors described up here]
Knowledge: Arcana 12 +5 = 17
[If there are no markings or discoveries that might reveal how to open the stone doors (or activate the machinery), then I will attempt to disarm any wards on the lock and attempt a pick]
Disable Device - ward (if applicable) 7 + 9 = 16
Disable Devise - lock 15 +9 = 24

Khannon, Rhag'Nuul & Azhag
The party agrees on Rhag'nuul's plan and they begin to set it in motion. With a mighty swing Rhag'nuul flings the grappling hook to Azhag who then disappears for a moment, he then returns over the sumbit and gives you a thumbs up.
With a few firm tugs Rhag'nuul begins his ascent to wards the door. Since the rope lies taught against the right side of the building when he reaches the top he notices he is still a distance away from the door...
A few plans come to Rhag'nuul's mind for closing the distance...
He could try swinging himself on the rope until he became close enough to the door and then try to grab onto something on the door. Or he might try using the various decorations on the vault's brickwork as handhold and footholds in order to "climb" towards the door.
As an option he could attempt to tie the rope around his waist at this point and then he'd be free to use both of his hands to disarm devices, and/or climb to the door...
I'll save your scores for the disable device and arcana searches for later, so don't worry about re-rolling those.

While both the Drow and Byggvir look up, the drow goes back to trying to do the work solo. But Byggvir seems more than happy to have your help. The two of you make it up onto the boat and get the gear loaded onto the central convey before it and everything else is sent down into the lower levels of the massive ship.
"By Hextor", The captain curses under his breath, "Look at all the S**t these lab monkies bring with them. If they could they'd probably try and fit all of Morderhiem on the ship with them." His silent second in command simply nods, you can only guess as to whether the poor man can breath with all the padding.
Then Byggvir suggests that you join everyone else in the cabins since it's best to stay off the deck whenever they set sail or the seas get busy. The sailors prefer to have only the people that are absolutely necessary on deck.
You go down in the cabin with the rest of guild members. You look around and try to figure out where you should settle down and maybe also try to figure out where all the lab equipment is being kept.
You stumble across the mess hall where everyone seems to be seated and you are completely amazed at how many apprentices join the program every year. You notice Soloman talking with what appears to be some lab partners...
Knowledge (Politics):16+4+2 (synergy with history)=20
You have noticed an alarming trend for the past 5 years. The guild tends to train all of the government sanctioned mages, scholars, tactiticans, maesters and lorekeepers, but this doesn't give the guild the massive edge on any house. Because the Sceptres house notices the usefulness of such people and always hires on the most achieved and brilliant of the guild's members, the trend has become so pronounced that many Guild members actually look forward to swapping alliances since it means they can be in the same study halls and labs as such great minds of Morderhiem such as Oslam the Enchanter, Marina Spellfire or Ga'zack of the Golden Sun.
You realize that if Soloman becomes a Maester at the Sceptres academy there will be very little to still look forward to in your dead-end career at the Guild...
Listen 3+3= 6... Okay you need to get the wax out of your ears
You notice some students discussing something very excitedly in whispers a few of them taking time to peek out of the huddle to look at Cid or you. Possibly making rumors no doubt... You notice at the far end of the room the drow seems to have gone off to the archway in the corner of the mess hall and was just looking at the students. The drow makes eye contact with you for a fraction of a second breaks off and slinks back into the darkness of the hall.
Sorry totally forgot about the listen bonus. Thankfully the bonus doesn't mean I have to rewrite history. Thanks for reminding me. I'll keep it in mind from now on.

I definitely decide to secure the rope around my waist. If I do manage to get these doors open, they might swing outward (downward) upon me and I don't want to get knocked to ground level far below...which would probably be death. He could try swinging himself on the rope until he became close enough to the door and then try to grab onto something on the door. Or he might try using the various decorations on the vault's brickwork as handhold and footholds in order to "climb" towards the door.

Climb towards the important aspects of the door: 20 + 5 (+7 with rope) = 25
Ug, I feel stupid when I roll a 20...let alone 2 of them in such a short span. But that was the roll.

"My friend I bearly know you and less is to say about your name?" I give a little smile. "as for the purpose of this trip, being in the library will only get you so far, you must see the world and this is a fine way to see it wonders, unless you what to end up like him" (I point at cid) ''I doubt one would willingly go down his path"
"if you ever feel like chatting lady look me up this trip will be long and slow, if you care to know the true purpose of this expedition you should really try to socialize a little more" I walk away and head to my room, once im out of the dinning hall, I mumble to myself. "oh I never did get her name. should get it next time"
If I can then the next day I try to find out who else is of relevance in this expedition, also I try to socialize with them to get a feel of with whom im traveling. I also try talking with either the captain or his second mate.

Khannon & Ragh'nuul
The party had been so busy just trying to get to the door and avoid magical wards that a mechanical trap completely flew under the radar! Ragh'nuul curses his foolishness in his head as he immediately lets go of the door and it swings open with a spray of green acid. Rhag'null barely dodges the attack and Khannon seeing the trap being sprung steps back as the acid sizzles in front of his feet harmlessly, only searing away part of the statue before evaporating away as if it never occurred.
Unfortunately for Ragh'null, while he was quick enough to avoid taking damage himself the acid has seared the rope over top of him and now he dangles under the the vault entrance with the rope just minutes from snapping. To compound matters the knot Ragh'null made around his waist is exceptionally well crafted and tight making it difficult to slip out of.

Yells down to Khannon while he struggles: "Dwarf! You have leave to smash me in the face if I try to over-think the matter again!
"You got it boss!"
Listen up maggots, Mr. Popo's 'bout to teach you the pecking order.
It goes you, the dirt, the worms inside of the dirt, Popo's stool, Kami, then Popo.

Rahg'nuul
You immediately spin yourself out of the tangle and use some swinging momentum to swing yourself towards the open vault... You begin flying towards the entrance and the rope snaps sending you hurtling towards the open entrance way like a massive projectile upwards. You see magical glyphs at the entrance way and close your eyes as you prepare to set off the next trap and explode to your doom...
Instead, something amazing and unexplicable happens... As you pass through the glyphs, gravity suddenly shifts. Rather than flying back down once regular gravity kicked in and sending you plummeting to your death back at the statue you tumble inside the temple entrance way You get up and inspect the place quickly before looking back out...
Khannon
You see Ragh'nuul twist, turn and contort until he has freed himself and then before the rope snaps he swings himself towards the doors. The rop finally breaks and he is sent upwards into the vault the rope falling away and going falling down, down, down, far to the ground.
...You are looking up at the open vault doors and see Rhag'nuul get up... off of the floor... What trickery is this? You think to yourself, he should be sliding down and plummeting towards you because of the slant of the vault entrance. But then again you are thankful that he didn't die you suppose, and got lucky with whatever pervsion of reality the vault creates.
Since explaining in words the phenomena that is occuring is very difficult and might be confusing I've attached an image. On the image you have the cone in grey, the statue and vault in beige, Azhag is the green square, Ragh'Nuul is the purple square, Khannon is the dark orange/brown square. Note how they are placed...
Ragh'Nuul
After the initial shock from the sudden shift in gravity you take another quick look around.
Spot 5+1=6
You see the most obvious piece of scenery, in what you assume is the northern section (You don't know how gravity shifts effect direction although for outsiders it might be up), of the room and see a bronze statue of a nude angel, thankfully this one is female for a change, with the hands out held out as if expecting alms of some sort, with it's head down. In front of the angel, closer to you (slightly south/down) there is a empty podium where a large tome may have sat at one time.
Before getting too facinated though, you need to figure out how to get Khannon to join, assuming you want him, especially after your rope was destroyed...
Brauer
You get up and follow after the dark figure. The figure has taken great measures to cover himself up to avoid detection and become androgynous. But you aren't fooled by this psuedo-ninja, it is a young male human of some sort. He is wearing an all black get-up and strapped to the side of one leg he has a pouch, while on the other leg he has a holster of some sort with 3 wands.
You creep up behind him and think that you should wait a little longer to see what the being is up to...
You move silently behind him like a shadow. The figure makes his way onto the deck and hides behind a mast post, you stay hidden at the top of the stairs, he is completely oblivious to your presence... There is only one other visible person on the dock, a navigator at the steering wheel of the ship. That's when you see the interloper pull out one of his many wands from his holster and begins to aim it at the unaware navigator...

@DM, just to see if I have things straight.
I'm standing on top of the doorway. The doorway is underneath me on the other side of the doorway 'rectangular prism' I'll call it (two walls over, meaning the doors are on the underside and you must go Up to get inside. Correct?
If so, my question is (and I'll ask about the gravity thing later, this is all I need to know at the moment), what is the material I'm standing on made of? A stone or a Metal?

"Alright, let me get my bearings and survey things a bit."
Rahg'nuul does nothing with the statue or the pedestal for now, being extremely weary of additional traps after that latest episode, and focused on helping Khannon for the time being.
Surveys vault room further and assesses wall thickness as per Khannon's request (not sure which skills apply so here are multiple rolls, please apply as needed)
Search: 17+11=28
Appraise: Stonework 2+6=8
Knowledge: Dungeoneering: 12+5=17
