Sorry it took me so long to post. I've been a bit busy.
@Azmodan: Cel still has other things to say once she and Halya get off the topic of magic. Let's just say she got sidetracked from the task at hand.

I'll try to be more prompt with my next post, after you post Halya's response.

Sorry for my delay in posting. I'm really busy right now--I'm not even getting enough sleep. I'll try to post this weekend.

Sorry that took so long (if I had known the post would only take a couple sentences, I would have done it earlier). Fortunately, I should be able to post more often from now on. It seems I took a bit more off than I could chew as far as classes go, so I had to drop a class--which of course means more free time.
Anyway, I'm finished for the night (night in the story). I'll wait a few days to allow you guys to post. If no one's posted by then, I'll go ahead and progress things to morning.
You still with us, Rob? Haven't seen you in a while.

I'll be on a week holyday saturday btw, just so you know.

Well, if you have time to spare before your (well-deserved) vacation...it would be most appreciated if you went ahead and progressed the story to morning.

Myself, I might not get to post til Friday or so, so if you wait for me to post it might be too late. And then we'd be kind of stuck.
BTW, good luck on your project. Hopefully everything works out. But then again, luck probably isn't very helpful against certain doom.

I'll see what I can do.
Problem is that school is giving me a hard time. They planned all kinds of stuf during this holidy. Now I have to do all this before I leave sunday.
God, I need a break...

Hi guys, can I introduce a new character to the story? I wont be able 2 post 2 much, so he can be a loose character. Just some specs on what hes gonna be like-
Name: Corsair
Race: Human
Occupation:Merc
Weapons:Long bow and 2 handed sword
Bio: Real short-Hes from a place called the Silver Sea serching for fame and gold and all that good stuff. Hes pretty nice but not outspoken and keeps to the shadows. Dont know what business he would have with your characters, but im sure I could make somethin up.
Hope yall like this.

@corsair: Sorry, we're not really taking new additions at this point. We're trying to wrap it up right now, and it's slow going as it is. There might be another story after this though...
@Rob + Azmodan: I've been quiet until now, as I've been busy myself, but...you guys around? I'll post something if that's what it takes to get this going again, but it'd be nice to know that it won't be naught...

Yeah I'm still here... but that's about it.
Sorry but motivation for this story has dropped below zero. The cause is simple, to many people left me hanging... Except for you two, Magus and Azzy, I'm a bit dissapointed in the rest.
So to keep it short. I'm not taking any effort into finishing this story just for the sake of finishing it. The coming and going of characters etc just makes it ... well not very good.
I enjoyed writing with you two, and most others when they were motivated, and I hope you two understaind.
I also hope that there will be a new story in the futur, but I consider VotH a closed chapter.

Oh well. That's that, then. A shame, but it's as you say. The story's become a chore to maintain, despite our best efforts.
So...what next? I have to admit...I'm not really super-motivated to bounce back and start another story after we've gone so far in this one and just dropped it...but I do enjoy the writing, especially when I'm working with other well motivated writers. And, as it stands, my other entertainment options are annoyingly limited. What do you think, Rob? Azmodan?

Perhaps we should pick a different angle this time.
Instead of people having characters, we could create a story and write it together. Everybody can post when they feel like it and nobody has to wait since we have an idea for the story and we all controll everyting in it.
Or smething like it, I'm just brainstorming here.

An interesting concept. Is that how they did the Order of the Dark Flame threads? Did it work?

I don't know.
They do introduce one character per writer IIRC, but they control everything in the story. I think.
They wrote about 5 books so far so I guess it works.

I don't know, I'm kind of attached to the idea of focusing on one character that's "yours." But maybe we could remove some of the self-imposed restrictions we've placed on ourselves. Like, for example, the rule that a character's personality is defined by how his creator roleplays him, and everyone else should roleplay that character as close to that defined personality as possible. So, bending or even discarding that rule, we could each pick a character to focus on, but we're all free to write about the other characters as well, without fear of not "getting it right" and such. You know, make it all more freeform. The story would also no longer be guided by one person, but would progress in a post-by-post fashion. This would remove the necessity of each person posting regularly, since each character need not be equally represented, or even well represented. More an exercise in fun and creativity than actual, focused, story-writing, but maybe it would be a good change of pace.
BTW, what I'm suggesting is actually fairly similar to how Roleplaying in Athkatla worked (and how it sounds like the Dark Flame threads work). It has its advantages, but it has its disadvantages as well. After Roleplaying, we did Athkatla II, which was kind of inbetween Roleplaying and what we did in VoTH. Basically Athkatla II was the above, plus a little central guidance from a DM. Like I said, it was basically a balance between freeform and "focused" roleplaying. Incidentally, Roleplaying and Athkatla II are the two roleplays (out of about 5 I've participated in) that we've managed to finish.

hey guys, sorry i havent been around, but i checked for answers in this thread sor some time and when one came i kninda just forgot about it again *SORRY!*
im fairly open to do whatever you guys think is best, but i warn you i would still have a hard time figuring out what the other chars would do, but it's no trouble at all, i would just have to sit down with a thermo and start reasing the thread some a start, i think i have a fiarly good grasp on some of the chars, but others are in totalt darkness to me, im so sorry you got stuck with me, of all the ppl from the party i must be the most confused

but i really want to see this to the end, and so if we decide that it would be best to write it as a chapter each so to say, then i would just have to get my act together and do it (i am sure i can) and since the other rpg i played went down in a simular way (we are 3 left, and one's computer broke down and the other had a friend die) then this rpg kinda died.
i would be sad to see this one die too, it sucks really bad when you worked hard for smething and just see it go down.
(Az that last woman standing on the barricade *erhm and the only*)

@Az: I'm having a little trouble understanding your message there.

Here's what I got:
1) You're against letting the story die.
2) You suggest that we write the rest of the story independently, each from our characters' point of view? Or do you mean we split the ending into 3 (chronological) parts, each of us writing a part?
I can empathize with your reluctance to let the story go, but write the rest of the story independently? That sounds...well, a lot like work.

Plus Rob doesn't seem interested anymore in bailing water out of the sinking boat that our story has become.

However, if that's your idea, I might be interested in helping. Maybe we can just kill Rob's character and go from there.

ahhahahah - well i was very tired when i wrote that post - i should not even be alowed near my computer when i am that tired.
i said that i would be sad to see it die and i feel kinda responsable because it just died when i joined. if it was something i did i am very sorry guys
but i also said that i would do whatever you guys think best, and if it is letting this rpg die, then we do that, its no fun when even the GM have lost interest. if that is indeed what he did, but that is what i understand from your post
