Wise words from my advisor....
"We won't have a future unless we improve police numbers and rebuild the military," says General Miranda Spirit. "Oh, it's all well and good to have your fancy education and your nice cars, until some tinpot dictatorship decides to invade. And don't pretend like there aren't any of them in SYM. Our number one priority has to be security."
You damn warmongers

Oh my!
Looks like we've abolished income tax. Yet another victory for the glorious people of the Dominion.
Issue update
The Issue
The Department of Defense has put its case for a substantial increase in funding for the coming financial year.
The Debate
"There are turbulent times we live in," says Defense Chief Hack Jefferson. "Turbulent and dangerous. And the only sensible response to that, of course, is to build a lot more weapons. Unless we get the funding we need, I can't promise that we'll be able to defend Tamerlane's sovereign borders from rogue nations and foreign powers. Or those leaky boatloads of refugees, for that matter."
This is the position your government is preparing to adopt.
"NO MORE BOMBS," chant the protestors outside Parliament House, in a repetitious and increasingly annoying appeal. Spokesperson Al Mistletoe, speaking through a feedback-afflicted microphone, says, "Tamerlane needs fewer weapons, not more! Make the world a safer place! Disarm now!"
[Accept]
The Government Position
The government has indicated its intention to follow the recommendations of Option 1.
Can't trust this bunch of nations on SYM. Especially the Empire of Lord Stalker.

The Empire of Tropicalis
"Nature conservation today will grant life tomorrow"
UN Category: Father Knows Best State
Civil Rights: Some
Economy: Strong
Political Freedoms: Outlawed
The Empire of Tropicalis is a small,
environmentally stunning nation, renowned for its strong anti-business politics. Its compassionate, hard-working, cynical population of 18 million are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.
The enormous, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Religion & Spirituality, and the Environment. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 27%. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Gambling.
The police force is on a recruitment drive,
tourists from around the world come to visit the country's famous rainforests, the macaw is a
protected species, and Harry Potter books are banned. Crime is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Tropicalis's national animal is the macaw, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the parrotali.

Go Nature!

Perhaps Tropicalis would like to consider an alliance with the Dominion of Fablicious,
an environmentally stunning nation famed for
its many lush forests. Together, we could form a green coalition that shall return to the Earth to what it once was:
A huge outdoor paradise with not a human in sight.
Well, it merits consideration, anyway.

True. Kayland has not stayed true to environmental ways. Maybe it is time for Tropicalis to move its alliance to more environmental-conscious nations.
But I dont have a problem with humans.

Only wasteful ones.
Perhaps I will take this new alliance into serious thought.
@Voo I respect your decision, but had you kept battery or solar cars, then I would have been more behind that.

You don't wanna do that bub. That would make us angry. You wouldn't like Kaylandians when we're angry...
P.S. Kayland has increased military spending again.

The Issue
Some people say Gwaltopia's policy on free speech has gone too far.
Gwaltopia has chosen to continue to support free speech, but only to the extent that the speech does not impinge on other’s rights.
The Issue
Workers across the nation have gone out on indefinite strike over what they claim are substandard wages in the Book Publishing industry.
Gwaltopia supports a 20% pay hike for book publishers.

The Issue
In response to a slow news week, certain highbrow newspapers have stirred up the debate over voluntary vs compulsory voting.
The Debate
"Compulsory voting makes about as much as sense as having the death penalty for attempted suicide," says civil rights activist Anne-Marie Licorish. "You can't force people to be free! You can only give them the choice. Besides, if all those derelicts who can't be bothered to get off their ass once every few years voted, who would they elect? I shudder to think."
"I's not contradictory at all," argues political commentator Chastity Trax. "The fact is, if not everyone votes, the outcome isn't truly representative. Some groups--like elderly gun nuts--vote more often than others. That's why always we always end up with such terrible politicians."
"This raises an interesting issue," says Anne-Marie Chicago, your brother. "And that is: why do we need elections, anyway? Seems to me it would be much simpler if you just decided what was right, and did it. Wouldn't that save everyone a lot of time?"
The Government Position
The circle of elders has indicated its intention to follow the recommendations of Option 1.

You know, threatening allies is not a nice thing to do.
We have practically no army, we pose no threat to your nation. I have spent more money in pencil shavings then I have in military funding.

There is no point in waging war versus the people of Tropicalis...it would be like the United States declaring war on Djibouti or Bahrein.
So, Fablicians....where do I sign?

Finally after playing second fiddle to the Empire of Nippy and Lord Stalkers for so long. I finally reach the top, even if it's something as strange and obscure as basket weaving.
Hmmm, the basket weavers sure picked a great time to go on strike.

Okey dokey.
This is a proud day for Tropicalians. We have been disconnected from the ties of a nation that projected pro-environmentalism and moved into a nation that any environmentally aware person would be proud to be associated with.
A joint party? I think we've got laws about drugs...we arent a liberal paradise....
What shall our razz consist of?
Maybe we should just throw bio-degradable fruit shavings at Kayland, then over night, we sabotage their trash collecting system and force them to create compost piles in every backyard.
