I work in the travel industry. Any time an aircraft goes down, it tears at my heart, as "there, but for the grace of God, go I".

This goes way beyond that. I am shocked and grief stricken at the events that have taken place over the past day or so. That a plane full of innocent people could be used as a weapon...

The people that did this did not "give up their lives for their cause". The gave their lives to kill as many innocent people as they could. There is a big difference.

I am angered. Outraged. I don't know how to feel, but I don't think there is any correct way to deal with this. My thoughts and my prayers are with all those who lost loved ones and friends. We will all feel the effects of this. We will all be only one or two steps away from losing someone close in this tragedy.

Thank you all who have offered condolences. I would like to add my voice to join with theirs in in a worldwide cry of support and sympathy. God bless us all in this time of mourning.

I haven't heard whether or not anyone was in that building, but I did hear that they weren't expecting that one to fall and that they are evacuating World Trade building 5 because they think it is going to fall soon.

Just heard on the radio that the Taliban have confirmed that Osama bin Laden is being held under house arrest...

5 firefighters have been found alive in a 4x4 vehicle buried under the rubble...

I have just been browsing AOL (UK). There are over 18,000 messages from UK members of condolence and unity....

The general feeling is absolute horror and the promise to stand by the US...

I just wanted to say how tragic and awful these terrorist attacks are. I don't really think that there are any suitable words to describe the atrocities that have happened.

I was in New York two weeks ago, and I went to the World Trade Centre. I have found it really difficult to deal with the fact that these huge magnificent towers have been subject to terrorist attacks of this magnitude and the loss of human life makes me feel physically sick.

I hope that all the GB members are safe and that everybodys' friends and family are also safe.

Possibly, i think it is a shrewd move, they may jsut be saying it for political reasons.

The black box of the plane crashing in Pennsylvania has now been found.

no miracle Those firefighters rescued were recent casualties...not detracting at all - but not party to the tower originally collapsing.

Worse still, people have been arrested for posing as survivors and rescue workers...
