** finishes SLURRing away the hottub and refills it with whipcream, sprinkles and chocolate syrup ** Hi, Viv. I'm here too
@HLD: same here, man - can I get you a drink?

What, am I the invisible poster, unworthy of a virtual shot glass filled with my choice of imaginary alcoholic content?
@HLD, I suspect you're entering the Holiday Syndrome. Hardly anybody does anything today, and steels themselves instead for visits by relatives. Of course, you have IWD2, so you have a task.

@Fable: I thought you were going to show us what tricks you could do with a hottub filled with whipcream, sprinkles and chocolate syrup
- but who am I to deny you the pleasure of a drink first? ** pours Fable a pint of E.S.S. **

Satisfied
Thanks. This is the third dreary day we've had in New Jersey in a row. The state is dry as a proverbial bone, with water emergency rules in force, and we're supposed to be in the middle of a 5-day-run of rain, but not a drop has fallen in this area. Clouds we have, lots of grey, gravid clouds. But they pass overhead with the same blithe unconcern exhibited by rich Nuovo-Republicans ignoring a tent city.

Well, you have gone to the "invisible" mode, so we can never tell if you're really around or just poping in for a post/spam-and-run . . .

You're right that before a 3-day weekend or major holiday things are usually dull, but this is the first week of classes and today is the last day of drop/add and to pay fees before the registrar automatically drops people from classes, so many of the offices on campus are (in theory) fully-staffed today and the main administrative building is overrun with kids trying to fill up their schedule, settle up with the bursar and find out when their financial aid award is going to arrive.
We've also got one manager off on maternity leave and another person off for a personal emergency, so even the pace of regular work is slowing down.
I'd try and sneak in some IWD2 here at work, but my workstation machine is too old and slow.

It's difficult sometimes to stay here even when I'm still running GB; but for now, I've turned off invisible mode.

I strongly recommend it. It's important to keep our minds occupied with challenges at work, else they'll degrade into paperweights. You owe it yourself and your coworkers to play!

@Fable: Glad I could quench your thirst

- not much of a summer this year... ** pours Mr Sleep a non-alcoholic drink from the non-supply and pours himself a glass of J.D. **

I wonder if I can use this wording to my advantage in my next annual performance review . . .

Of course, feel free to do so. You may quote me, if you wish. I will stand valiantly by your side as you fight to keep your job, and accompany you to your choice of bars as soon as you lose it.

** takes out Flammie TM notebook, notes down the last part to Fable's statement and SLURRs some more Jack Daniels ** Cheers! Unfortunately, I have to take my leave again for today as I still have to rely on public transport to get me home. Normally, I should be driving the new car to work on Monday
- have a good weekend, all! Dusty will take care of your orders

Awe, some people around
*hug*
Let's see, like HLD I'm bored out of my mind
I'm looking up renaissance costumes and trying to find the most attractive ones, but so far I'm not sure...
But, hey, it's better than working.
Fable: *hug* I am READING those debates, but not able to contribute. I'm very frustrated and confused about the current situation. My fiancee told me that I'm crazy because I'm worried about Bush invading Iraq. To him it is a simple case of a mad man 'in the future probably getting nuclear weapons' to 'in the future' use against us and we should strike first. I just think there are so many other nations that also are led by mad men who HAVE nuclear weapons... I just wonder if we are doing things for the right reasons... And I dont' think I'm insane about this
To find an example of other countries we also should be worried about, I started babbling about the killing of those students protesting for Democracy in China and couldn't remember the names so of course I must not know what I'm talking about.
Anyway, sorry for that rant
Mr. Sleep and Gwally and Eerh *hug*
