A couple of interesting topics open for debate....

1. Considering the fact that we live in an imperfect world, What do you think of capitalism? Is it the best system that is posible?

2. To what extent does an individual have the right to defend him or herself?

I am asking this due to the following situation.. Imagine the this: Someone pulls a knife on you. Dutch law says that you are not allowed to use a firearm to defend yourself in this case.... You are not allowed to use a strike weapon or a knife to defend yourself when you are attacked by three unarmed thugs...

@Flagg: That is a bit extreme, maybe your lawmakers have seen too many Sat. morning Kung Fu movies...trying to turn every conflict into an exciting, evenly matched event. Maybe that's not such a bad idea, mandatory kung fu fighting for every altercation.

My country is sadly at the other extreme. In Montana, you are legally allowed to lob grenades at other drivers if you don't like the color of their car...

1.It's most likely the best we have now....still it could do with improvements.

2.To the fullest extent.

(2)A side note.....With the guns in the US and the easy access to them...these laws that people try to pass, will in the end make it were everybody (besides the crimnals) is afraid to even go out. Passing laws banning guns will not help. If I was a crimnal....why would I worry about breaking this law. I think it would make a crimnals more brave. He would know that John Doe...Mr.Upstanding Citzen doesn't have a gun and that he can break in to his house at anytime and will not run the chance of having his head blowed off.

I have heard...do away with all guns....yea right...just like doing away with all illegal drugs...that's working

I believe guns get the same treatment as AD&D.

I own AD&D...so this means I'm evil??
I own a gun...so this means I'm going to kill someone??

Ad 1) Need I answer this one :D :D :D

Ad 2) I would always defend myself in the manner I see fit - I don't care what laws state (I'm not useally one that breaks laws) I'll always, if I feel treathen, defend myself in a manner that makes sure the person attacking me stops attacking me.
(I actually think that Danish law is much similar to Dutch law on this matter)
