Sad. We have all the photos we can cope with, we have heard the same reports for a couple of days, we need answers and action - not hindrance...

When discussion people handling the situation in a disrespectful way, I found this at another board, posted by an American guy.

A moron ex-friend mocked Clinton during the beginning of the Oklahoma Bombing incident. (I don't remember what exactly was said, but it was pretty stupid and offensive.)

And now, at work, I'm hearing comments like "There goes the neigborhood!" or "Look they're going out of business! They're having a fire sale ! Fire! Geddit?" or "Hey! Does this mean no work tomorrow?!". I nearly punched an employee (I refrained. Are you proud?) who said "Eh, all th' people in those buildings were rich fat-cats who got what they deserve."

DAMN ! It's stormy last nite on Ground Zero. I wonder how long those unfounded survivors can hang on Let's pray for them, people !

THE FBI today released the names used by the 18 men it believes were the terrorists who hijacked the four planes used in Tuesday's kamikaze flights.

The suspected hijackers aboard American Airlines Flight 11, which hit the north tower of the World Trade Centre, were Walid Al Shehri, Wail Alsheri aka Waleed Alsheri, Mohammad Atta, Aabdul Alomari and Satam Sugami, CNN reported.

Aboard United Airlines Flight 175, which hit the south tower of the World Trade Centre, the suspected hijackers were Marawn Alshehhi, Fayez Ahmed, Mohald Alshehri, Hamza Al Ghamdi and Ahmed Al Ghamdi.

Those believed to be the hijackers aboard American Airlines Flight 77, which hit the Pentagon, were Khalid Almihdhar, Majed Moqued, Nawaf Al Hazmi and Salem Al Hazmi.

The suspected hijackers aboard United Airlines Flight 93, which crashed in rural Pennsylvania, were Ahmed Al Haznawi, Ahmed Alnami, Ziad Jarrah and Saeed Alghamdi.

Federal authorities warned the spellings of the names may vary from other documents.

Atta is regarded as the man to whom all the other terrorists are linked.

He rented a car found at Logan airport and had a United Arab Emirates passport, but the country's government says it believes it was a false passport and the FBI suspect he may North Africa.

His last homes were in Florida and the German city of Hamburg and he is known to have undergone flight training at two schools in Florida, one of which had a jet simulator.

Walid Al Shehri and Wail Alsheri, also known as Waleed Alsheri, are brothers, thought to be from Saudi Arabia and members of a clan which fought in Afghanistan during the 1980s.

They are believed to have intensive flight training in Florida and by being from Saudi Arabia and possibly having fought in the Afghan War would have a double link to Osama bin laden, who was born in the Gulf state but led troops in Afghanistan.

Terrorism expert Peter Bergen told CNN that many of the names were associated with Saudi tribes in the south of the country which had close links to Yemen.

Bin Laden's father was Yemeni and his followers were suspected to have carried out the attack on the USS Cole in the country which left dozens of sailors dead.

Mr Bergen said: "You are seeing that probably half the people on the list are Saudi and one-third are Yemeni.

"Bin Laden veterans returning to Saudi from Afghanistan have been talking about some big action in the next couple of weeks, my sources have told me.

"It was originally though it was going to be in Saudi, but clearly this was it." "

The mutterings of war grow; on Tuesday the lives of innocent civilians were blotted out. Will innocent lives also pay for those atrocities already committed?

I don't know what the solution is. Clearly those who perpetrated these heinous acts must be brought to Justice. I just very much hope that retribution is limited to those directly responsible..........

I intend no disrespect to anyone here. I have never supported terrorism, and I can't even begin to imagine the mentality that would endorse something so awfull. I'm simply very fearful of what could happen ..........

@DW -- I'm afraid too. Terrified. But we've been attacked. If I'm attacked I'm going to defend myself. If my nation is attacked it should also defend itself.

@Georgi -- It's not about "an eye for an eye". That's not what self-defense is all about. It's about negating the attack and making sure it doesn't happen again. Was WWII "an eye for an eye"? No, it was about stopping Hitler.
