How do they swim? We spend most of our time breathing, so it becomes automated. Sometimes we walk. That is not automated. They spend all of their time swimming, and sometimes they breathe.
I thought that (= having no automatic breathing) could be the reason for them not being able to sleep.
no, they do sleep but they can't "shutdown" their brains for a long time since they wouldn't make it.. it's like freddy krueger was haunting all the dolphins :p

i think that's something you have to ask from the dolphins :p hmm.. they don't necessarily swim all the time. they might be just floating around, breathing when no humans are around to see them :o

Yeah, and they probably just act like complete morons when they're observated and STILL end high up the list of most intelligent animals.

Now, what if animals have access to that supernatural stuff I mentioned earlier? I believe I heard some animals can sense moods (like dogs)?

It's fun man. Grab a bowl full of ice cubes, a pretty girl and explore the wonders of the human nervous system. It does wonders for your appreciation of science. ;)

Ah yes, recreational science. The biology experiment you described is much safer then my formerly wonton chemistry ones.

Yes, well the look on my psychiatrists face years ago when she mentioned testing me on space relations and my return comment was priceless. The double take she made between me and the picture of her husband even moreso. *sighs* Good times. :o

yes, well my teachers never liked it when trying to learn about clouds, we needed warm water, a bottle, tin foil, an ice cube, an a match. the teacher wouldnt let me have anymore matches becuase i was playing with them. so i busted out a lighter and finished my experiments. he wasnt thrilled with that.
i was sent to a councaler(sp?) for a sanity test. i passed with flying colors. if only they new the truth...

"Sane" is subjective. 500 years ago everyone on this board would have been burt at the stake. :p

Oh so very true. "Sane" by the standards of most doctors is dreadfully boring and irritating to me. Those people tend to avoid me, I toy with them for my general amusement. Where's the fun in anything if you aren't somewhat off your rocker anyways?
