The annoying thing is that I tend to have my volume all the way up. Have a decent sound card and amazing speakers. Plus I'm becoming quite the expert with the equalizer on Winamp. So not surprisingly, I'll turn the computer on, Window sound disabled
and pop ICQ on and it would scare the utter crap out of me.
I'm getting used to the weird MSN one now, but late at night that does scare me too.
EDIT- You can turn it off.

LMAO, Normally I listen to music while I'm using the computer so my speakers are off...

c-dance. It's a trance and dance music station with EXCELENT quality. So my speakers are on, loud as hell!

I manage to avoid unsolicited porn by having a little-known email provider, so far I've only ever had one junk email, and I've been using the same account for just on 2 years.

@Eerhardt-Don't look at me, I haven't signed you up for porn so far, though some of my old high school friends got some weird fetish porn from time to time.

There's a (relatively) big " + " sign at the top left of the "Trillian" window. Klick on it .....and follow the instructions.

- I manage a complex system of applying filters and blocking adress ranges to keep most of it out now

Sadly the inflatable animal fetish page is down at the moment, I just tried to find it again.
Funny story behind how I found it, a friend was bored in French and surfing the net when the nosy computer teacher burst into the room and asked who'd been looking up the inflatable animal fetish page.
My friend got hassled for that by all the teachers for the next week.
