Oh my, the things that happen when you're busily playing Fallout night and day.

I should have known my brash action would lead to an equally brash counter. Waverly, not only were you magically bound, but Void was "standing" right there ready to seize your mind if you dared to attack. At least that was my plan if you tried anything. Since events are already way beyond that, I guess I'll have to practice my flexibility.

First, to redo my characters' roll in this matter. Your guys' story was great, but there's something you guys couldn't have forseen... Assume anything that isn't changed/mentioned here remains the same. I'm telling this from Magus, Aerie, and Void's point of view, so most of the other characters' activities will be omitted. Believe it or not, I've toyed with the following idea for a while now, and the events here just pieced together perfectly to finally reveal my secret...
Once again Magus feels the dessicating cloud close on his body. His mind flashes to another time and place, and he relives the battle with Ubik. He remembers the horrible sense of helplessness as his skin shriveled and cracked... Suddenly, an incredible rage suffuses him. A barrier of pure, swirling magical energy springs up around him, absorbing the three spells. His eyes and body glow a startling bright blue.
Amidst the frenzy of battle, Void senses his master's energy. For once, the imperturable being is frightened. He had had his fears, but never did he expect the extent to which they had been realized now.
Meanwhile Aerie fights for her life against the dragonling and the two invisible stalkers. Caught unprepared, and still unused to battle, she can't bring her spells to bear against them. Fallout engages the two invisible stalkers, but can't manage to get at the dragonling. She is only teleported a short distance away by the teleport field, and seconds later her casting of a sanctuary spell is interrupted by the ripping claws of the dragonling. She screams in agony as her abdomen is layed open, and collapses to the ground...
The teleport field fizzles into the great pulsing ball of energy surrounding Magus. He spins on the poisoned Waverly, who has not given up and is casting another spell. Suddenly, Waverly's voice cracks with a croak, and his eyes bulge grotesquely. He slowly turns his head to Magus, and stares death itself in the face. Trip-Wire, who had been rushing in for the kill, halts and stands transfixed, horrified. Rail manages to pull his eyes away from the ghastly sight, and sees the glowing form of Magus. Void watches all with a horrid fascination.
Then Aerie's scream breaks the trance. Somehow the agonized voice of his love penetrates the magical energy consuming Magus's mind. He whirls around, and Waverly, released from the awful pressure, slumps unconscious to the ground in traumatic shock. Magus spots the dragonling standing over her, and it immediately turns to stone. Then he appears next to Aerie. Through the haze of pain, Aerie senses his gaze, and looks up to see his bright glowing form. She smiles, then she falls limp and her eyes glaze over in death. As Magus stares at her, loss overwhelms the fury inside him. The wild energies surrounding him seize to swirl, and time itself seems to stop. After an instant that lasts forever, he kneels and places his hands on her chest. The wild energy surrounding him streams through his arms into her body, and life pulses through her veins once more. Aerie opens her eyes in time to see Magus collapse to the ground. He is barely breathing, and his skin is a sickly pale white. Aerie rushes over to him, but her healing spells are useless. Magus lies on the verge of death...
Sidenote: Sorry I changed so much. It's my fault I waited so long to check back. I know it's confusing, so in summary, here's what happened:
Waverly cast Abi-Dhalzim's Horrid Wilting 3x. Aerie was attacked by two invisible stalkers and a dragonling. Fallout rushed over to help Aerie. Trip-Wire cast domination on Waverly, which didn't work. Rail interuppted Waverly's second time-stop with a slash with a poisoned knife. The Abi-Dhalzim's Horrid Wilting made something snap in Magus, and he went berzerk (sort of). Void stood in horrid fascination. Waverly's contingencies then went off, including a teleport field that teleported Rail away, and moved Aerie only slightly. Trip-Wire and Rail rushed at Waverly, then halted when Magus started mysteriously killing Waverly. Then Aerie was slashed in the abdomen by the dragonling. Magus heard Aerie's scream, and left Waverly unconscious. He turned the dragonling to stone, and teleported over to Aerie. She died, and he revived her by giving her his energy. She awoke, and he fell down on the verge of death.
@Waverly: Your familiar isn't gone for good. It can be revived later.
@Rail: I'm sorry I took out your encounter with Void there. I tried to fit everybody's original actions in as much as I could, but in my version Void is supposed to be totally stunned. So he wouldn't have been able to stop you if you rushed Waverly...etc., etc. BTW, Waverly is still poisoned. Since Magus is unconscious, and Aerie's busy with him, you'll probably be the one to have to deal with it. Also, Void is just now coming back to his senses.
And finally...is this okay with everyone? I realize this is exceptionally high-handed. If anyone objects, by all means tell me. I'm hoping I didn't overstep any bounds, but if I did then it needs to be corrected. I apologize again for not checking back soon enough. Time for bed now...
