Juuuuuuuuuuuummpin' inn....

On-Topic: Velvet Freak (honest tag - I'm filling the closet w/ velvet)
Sex: Male (can't be bothered with innuendo @ the moment)
Age: In My Prime
Likes: Guitars and challenging ideas
Dislikes: Complacency, cruelty, and opportunism
Alignment: CG - with NG tendencies
Current Crisis: don't have 'em anymore (getting smarter with age)

Off-Topic:

It's fascinating to see the number of people here with psych-study backgrounds. I never had the patience to study Freud - I poked into Jung a bit, but I grew up reading Robert Pirsig (Zen & the Art) at 16, Carlos Casteneda, and recently Stan Grof & Joseph Campbell. It gives me heart to see this stuff getting tossed around on a BG-interest board, that maybe I'm not just roped into a mindless addiction

OK, so I played that one for drama. :D

I'll hold you to that! :D

Oh and Wave, Feel free to take either me or my surgically enhanced silisone sista on your couch anytime. But be prepared for some unusual discoveries.

Do I hear you correctly? You are offering the company of both you and your sister on the couch? Hmm. Image I really don't see any downside to this offer... as long as the 'unusual discovery' is nothing like finding you have a giant phallus hidden under your skirt... I'm game :D

No giant phalluses hidden anywhere I'm afraid Wave. But feel free to analyse. :D

Oooh, how vicarious... watching vixen and fable dance...

Shouldn't you two be PM'ing each other already?

@Waverly: what's wrong with velvet? It was good enough for Jeff Buckley! (my hero)

Not that you asked, but I've been lurking long enough.

Sex: Male, Happily married (you know, if you go long enough, you just kinda forget about it...)

Age: 39 (My internal vision of myself has me at about 28)

State: The desert.

Appearance: Average height, a bit stouter than usual (broad shoulders), a bit heavier than I need to be, (but its going down!), brown hair, beard (for you Anomen lovers out there), comfortable.

Occupation: Archaeologist - Think in terms of that guy from Stargate ... um, no that's not it. Envision Indiana Jones .. no, not that either. How 'bout one of the guys on Star Trek wearing a red shirt. Yeah, that's gonna be me... (a long time ago I used to be in technical theatre, but we won't go into that.)

Likes: CRPG, lurking, mountains/altitude, my family, currently reading Bernard Cornwell for some odd reason.

Dislikes: snoring, certain current politicians, bad drivers, bad movies/television.

Alignment: I vacillate between LN and CG.

Crisis: During my last month of lurking on this forum and in BG2, my productivity at work has sunk dramatically. No help for me. Fortunately, my bosses haven't caught on.

Thanks to all of you for some very entertaining and thought-provoking literature!

@Jennabard - I COMPLETELY understand your desire to leave Arizona. I've never been to Japan (my wife was born there, is that close enough?), but I often pine for my sweet Colorado home. I am a seasonal Southern Arizona hater - when the tempurature is over 100 (i.e. today) I complain bitterly. However, there are times, like camping alone in the winter desert, the stars so bright and close you can just touch them... It's hard to beat. Still, I am mystified that everyone wants to retire here. I'm even more mystified that there was such a large prehistoric population. Go figure. What are you planning on studying?

@T'lainya: Thanks for the welcome. Tucson is a great place to be, of all the southern AZ cities. Best food, best archaeology, best spring training. (Okay, I'm an admitted Rockies fan) BTW, where is "T'lainya" derived?

@Weasel: Can you describe the monkey? What species?

@ Gwalchmai, I used my middle nam as a basis :D I just added and changed a few letters :) I have to admit I was griping about the heat too..it's too hot for this time of year. I much prefer Tucson to the Phoenix area, I don't much like the valley of the eternal traffic jam. How ;ong have you been here in AZ?

@T'lainya: Cool. I used a Baby Names book...

This time, I've been here for six years, but I was also here in 1988 digging on a site in the middle of summer during a record 117 heat wave. Its weird, when you're out in the heat all day, it doesn't feel so hot. But when you walk out of the air-conditioning and get slammed in the face by the AZ heat, you feel like you were just teleported to the surface of Mars (or maybe to the inside fo Vixen's backpack, according to Gruntboy  ).
