level 8 it is then
these are her stats from BG
Name: Riona
str:19
dex:18
con:18
int:5
wis:14
cha:18
Her strength is 19 because she's got a girdle of hill giant strength
otherwise its 18
Due to other equipment she's got equiped she has these attributes:
protection from fire 60%
prot from electricity 100%
prot from acid 20%
prot from magic 20%
prot from poison 100%
and haste from her boots of speed
i actually have two pairs of those if anyone wants it[/QUOTE]
In my opinion, she's way overpowered. We're writing a roleplaying story, not playing a BG game. I will be the first to admit that when playing BG, I will also max my stats except for one, but this is just ridiculous.
She has STR and CON of 18, which implies that she is really big and strong, but she has an INT of 5, which makes her as dull as a sea stone. Also, with all the immunities, she is really going to unbalance the story. I think you need to tone her down to RP specifications, and give her more balanced stats.
For instance, if you make her 5'7", 130 lbs (or somewhere along those lines), she'll have maybe 15 STR and CON at best (though her DEX can be 18 at virtually any size). She could be big for all I know, but if she is not, I strongly suggest that you rebalance her in accordance with her physical attributes.
Noncorporeal attributes (INT, WIS, CHA), are entirely up to the imagination, and are much more flexible than physical attributes. I still recommend that you rebalance these as well. INT should be 9 at least, if you want her to be as smart as Rocky (Stallone). You'll probably want her to be smarter than that. WIS is pretty good for a Paladin and CHA for a paladin should be high.
Anyway, if the rest of the group decides the current stats are fine, I cannot oppose them, but I think that your paladin, as she is, is severely unbalanced and overpowered.
There is also the possibility that you thought this was a BG multiplayer game (as I did with my first RP story), in which case you can forget all I just said and make your own decision.
In conclusion, this is a Roleplaying story, so it is a good idea to roleplay, and not bring in a munchkin.

The Paladin is generally a strong class, and comes with bonuses, like saving throw bonuses, and immunity to disease and that sort of stuff, so a paladin of level X is generally going to be more powerful than any other class of level X (rules change around level 10-13). She can still be powerful, but through divine might, not through insane munchkin stats and munchkin gear.
