plot idea

Here is just an idea:
In kotor 1 when Revan was there u were a child, maybe 10 or so years old.
You lived on 1 of the planets where Revan came by and the exile later.
This is sth like Fable, that was a good start in the game.
Then one of the old companions or some other Jedi or maybe even the exile could see ur potential and decide to train you. For the beginning at least for later on they disappear or die and u have to finish ur training. For that u try to find anything left from the Jedi. At the same time u search for Revan and the exile as 2 last living Jedi. Some of the action should be in the known space but later u should travel to the Outer Rim to face the True Sith.
For the end i suggest that either the three heroes be Sith Lords who come to conquer the Republic together or that they form a new Jedi Council and train new Jedi to keep the piece in the galaxy.
So what do u think?

My Stupid Idea

I've had enough of this sh*t about every main star wars character being special in some way. He should start out as some average dude. Here's my idea:

The main character is a smuggler or pirate or something. He finds an abandoned-looking ship on the outer rim. He enters it looking for loot and finds a corpse lying on the floor in the cockpit. As he approaches it, he has a vision. In it, the corpse speaks to him. It reveals that it is Revan. It then says that he was ambushed by a group while in the unknown regions and was at the point of death when he used the force to keep himself alive. His body is slowly wasting away and he needs an ancient sith ritual to restore him. The only way to learn of the ritual is to search for information in the unknown region. About a third of the way into the game, it is discovered and Revan is revived. Revan then reveals that the exile was the one who had fought him. He wants to go after the exile, but he knows he's not powerful enough alone. He takes you to the Jedit Temple on Dantooine to train you so that you can help him stop the exile from taking over the galaxy. After a few small missions, Revan decides you are ready. You chase the exile across numerous worlds, finally ending in an encounter on Korriban. The player gets locked out of the room (like obi wan on episode 1). When the doors open again, revan and the exile are both dead and a new uber sith who followed the exile from the unknown regions and has decided to take control of the steadily growing sith empire. He offers foir you to join him. if you deny, the player narrowly escapes and the rest of the game is spent trying to thwart his plans and ends in a confrontation for the fate of the galaxy. If you do join the sith, you have to help him execute his plans, but in the end you still have to fight him because he does not trust you.

I know it's a pretty stupid idea, but with some thought, it could work.

One thing i don't want in KOTOR III would have to be Korriban, it was a rip-off of a planet in KOTOR II and shouldn't be in the next one unless you're actually going to do something there

To follow on from KOTOR 2 - i mean it uses the character you have got at the end and you start at the same level as you where - in which you have to find Reven and discover what was happening.

What i also want:

I would want to take out a party of either 4 or 5 characters and the levels should be much larger and harder to accompany this. Also the Cargo Hold on the Ebon Hawk should have all your supplies, which before you go out, you have to decided what to take out - limit the amount anyone character can carry at one time.

I also want the ability to put helmets and hoods on when equiping the armour to the characters, making it more 'realistic' - and the ability to remove the jedi cloak when about to duel.

Better character interaction - that mean allowing the characters moving around on the Ebon Hawk while in hyperspace, which hyperspace should be played out and not just what happens between the load allowing more time to getting to know your character and explore the ship aswell as training them all.

Ability to control which ever one your character you like on board the Ebon Hawk, not just your main one. Aswell as ability to access the gun turret within the ship during non-combat moments (chance to upgrade or train with in - making the turret harder to use), ability to get on top of the Ebon Hawk when in a dock and ability to use all item's - such as the medical bed around the ship and being able to fly the Ebon Hawk.

Access to all ships computers all over the Ebon Hawk is a must aswell as chance to upgrade the ship. More ability in levels to explore every part and make the levels alot larger - perhaps the whole planet. Custom build your lightsaber hilt.

i think thats it for now i may add more later.
limit the amount anyone character can carry at one time.
sound good, and then your strength determines how much weigt you can carry.

what i also want: i want the gameplay to be FAAAAAAAAAAAAR more complicated. I want the battle arena to be like one at the romanians, you can fight like 1 to 1, 2 to 2, 1 to 3, 1 to like 10 weak creatures. and why not make it like a massive rpg, an MMORPG, but not online like the elder scrolls IV: oblivion.

Err... MMORPG - that wounld be Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game? Oblivion is not multiplayer or online.

I see what you mean - the worlds did seem more restrictive in KotORs 1 and 2...

You need a new character - there are no new Forece powers beyond level 22 IIRC...

How about a chance of hurting yourself, when you use a lightsaber (especially the double-bladed)? I mean, those thing are helluva hard to use even with proper training, so when you fight, there is always a chance you'll cut yourself (or your head off). This penalty would be reduced by speciality feats for using lightsabers.

-more cities on planets
-bigger cities
-more activity going on around you(people fighting or children playing or w/e)
- smarter ai
-more debth to story
-lots of suspensful plot changing suprises
-more sith lords
-more jedi(not just a couple masters you bump into) there should be numerous
-more about the iridorians it think they are called. (the guy in the yellow suit on mannaan)w/e i want to see more of them
-more back ground information on different cultures(sand people in kotor 1)
- more about the ancient sith
-many different enemies(different factions who appose you)
-more variety of lightsabre types
-more jedi/sith clothing...maybe clokes with hoods you can put up for sith lords..not all should have hoods though. they could have some of the robes from kotor 1 also. they may be more appropriate for jedi/sith that rely on there combat skills
-more masks.. i wanted to get a mask like nihilius in kotor 2. the sith mask looks like a ninja mask. it is lame.
-boots, belts, pants, overall armer, gloves, implants and guantlets all able to be equiped seperatley.
-more party members to a party(3,4 maybe even 5) if that makes it seem to easy then throw in more enemies. it just makes it difficult to gain influence with your charectors with the limited 2.
-more party members all together. i would like to have like 10 or 12 maybe. kreia said expect an army to come. after she said that i got like 2 more people. that is not an army.
-bigger more powerfull plasters(more powerfull then zabrakk cannons even)
-more jedi/sith holocrons(it would be kool to find tulak hords lightsabre holocron.)
- more insane powers like force crush at the end of a game. if im a sith lord i want to be godly
-less corny animations..common it just looks rediculous when people are trying to look scared.
-combination of action and mysterious enemies. in kotor 1 it was all brute force and in 2 it was all about stealth combat. if we could get both it would be great.
- if atton is not in it then we need to get another charecter to come lighten up the mood every now and then.
-visit more planets
-bigger missions.i dont want to be going to a planet just to look for on dude
-less puzzles! i just want to keep the story going. it is the only reason i play rpgs. i just copy the answers from the strategy guide anyways. so i gues i wont care much about that but i still think they should cool out with them.
-make the charecters more prone to my influence. bao is still lecturing me even though he looks like a blue skinned darth maul.
-more side quests in every level
- more feats
-more feats learned from other party members(ex:handmaidens echani dueling and attons pazzaak in his head)
-play after game is beaten(make the game ten times better)
-more mini games for credits other then pazaak and swoop racing. i dont really care for either..some do but there should be more variety
-big ending cinema
-no more lagging in large number combat..hopefully xbox 360 will take care of that all together.
-more long interesting stories like jolee bino's
-let me kill a hutt...PLEASE
-more opportunities to fight for experience.. like in final fantasy where you get the ability to to level your guy up in order to prepare yourself for what comes.
-kill anyone you want as long as it does not effect the story
-good mentor figure with lots of information
-have a kotor 3...please im naked without it!lol

my story line

before the mandalorian wars A pregnant female(you choose the race) is on board her ship. she is a powerful warrior of the force. she has never been trained by either sith or jedi. how she learned the ways of the force are unknown. she is incredibly ill because her pregnancy is going wrong. she has a force bond with her baby(you) inside her whom. her ship is then pulled in by a sith warship. she is taken into their custody. they sense the strong connection to the force that the child has and they wish to have the young force sensitive child under their power and influence. they assist the pregnancy and take the mother into another shuttle and take off. the child some how senses what is taking places and attacks. the child uses an unknown technique that kills all the sith on board the ship. the ship crashes on courasant. the authorities immediately board the ship in search of survivors. they find hundreds of dead sith and the one surviving child. the jedi realize that the child is extremely strong in the force. they decide it is young enough to train. it goes through a cinema like the one in kotor 1. it shows the young suspect training. you are now a young adult padawan. you are given a master and are cleared to begin missions. your master and you fight through a few missions. i one of the missions you are attacked by sith assassins. you fight your way through them. then a spirit of a dark lord of the sith appears before you and kills your master in seconds then disappears in a cloud of smoke. the planet is then attacked by a sith warship similar to the one malak had in kotor 1. you find a rusty freighter(the ebon hawk). then you hear a voice as someone runs up to you. he says “come on we haven't got much time“. you take off. you engage part of the sith fleet again. you barley shake them off but your ship is damaged. you land on a small colony like planet for parts. you come across an older man who says that courasant has been mysteriously evacuated. you realize that there is nobody to teach you in the ways of the force now. the old man tells you that he could teach you the ways of the force. through out the game he teaches you new powers and tells you a lot of stories. you find another party member and the parts and leave. in order to avoid the sith fleet you stop on a near bye planet. it is a black market like planet. it is ruled by a greedy king. the planet is filled with mercs, gambling and bounty hunters. it would not be uncommon to see echani, mandalorians, sith soldiers, iradorians and even some dark jedi. the dark jedi do not have any alliances to anyone. they are pretty much just force users who use the force for cruel fun and gaining money. the king hold very few rules or laws for the mercs. they swear loyalty to him and in return he grants them these freedoms. there is a great deal of corruption and cruelty in this planet. it is a good place to gain some dark/ light point and credits. as you fight through the obstacles on this planet you get the kings attention. he sends some assassins after you to kill you/test you. eventually you appear before him. right away you can sense he has the power of a dark jedi master. he tells you that him and his thousands of mercs have great power in his over arrogant opinion. he is going to begin invasions of other planets to increse his military power and economic surplus. he offers you an alliance. if you accept you will help him in taking over a planet. if you decline you are arrested and put on board his shuttle. if you are arrested then you will escape and fight through his armies. if you join him then you will fight along side him and his forces of mercs and dark jedi. after the battle your mentor pulls you aside. he tells you of the threat of the true sith. they are hungry and wish to kill you, the jedi, fake sith and take the galaxy over for themselves. he tells you that they are so great in numbers that they appear invincible. there are many factions of the sith and not just the ones masquerading around in warships with machines. he says there are some that just drain all life and some that are gods with lightsabres. after they are through with there conquest to take over the galaxy they will probably even turn on themselves. there will be little left of the galaxy. he tells you that reven and the exile have ventured into the unknown region to find some keys to stopping this threat. in order to stop them from taking the galaxy over with their power unchecked you will have to follow reven and the exile's tracks. you will also need armies and allies of thousands. if you helped the king take over the planet then his armies will join you. if you killed him for evil you can take his army over for yourself. if you killed him to save the planet you can get the support of the planets armies. now you have to voyage out to other planets and try to gain more armies, party members and weapons. on every planet you visit you will be in search of allies against the true sith. along the way you find out more about the true sith and there origins. you find out about all the dark lords of the sith on korriban. you discover how they have the ability to return to power even after there death. the dark side is stronger then ever waging war with machines, assassins, dark jedi, and many sith lords. even some of the spirits of the dark lords of the sith are returning because they can sense the opportunity for the extinction of all jedi. you decide the outcome of the battle at the end of all things. after the true sith are defeated you can go into exile, join the counsle as a jedi master and contiue to help others or become the strongest sithlord to ever be seen in the galaxy. either way you should be able to contiue playing after the game is beaten. that would make it awsome.

Pretty solid story. Although, I don't think Jedi would so willingly decide to train such a powerful creature, as it would be extremely dangerous, considering what that child had lived through (death of his mother, captivity by the sith), and it would have highly unstable character in my opinion.

I didnt get a chance to read through what else has been posted by others, so im sorry if i repeat what any1 else has said!!

I think maybe they should try something a little different for this game, lets face it KOTOR was orginal where as KOTOR II was just plain boring and pretty pointless as a sequel!

Maybe a fable/starwars cross over is in order
-Grow up from childhood
-Battle scars/facial hair/tattoos
-Assorted clothing/jackets/robes/cloaks etc. (not just full-body suits)

-Chose your own affiliation (instead of just starting off affiliated with the jedi maybe start off with the sith)
-Playeable NPC characters and/or their storylines
-Make enemies/chose your allies e.g 6 out of a choice of 10
-Darkside/Lightside influence has more than just an effect on the appearance and a small part on their dialogue, but rather how they react to allies/NPC's/environments and more dialogue with the main character also maybe making enemies/grudges would help make your allies that tad bit useful (for those who like to just kill for the hell of it, you'd understand!!)
-Multiple endings 2 for each and a neutral ending>?
alos maybe an extended game, like fable of course lol?

<LIGHTBULB!!> The main character is acually the child of Bastilla and Revan and he's/she's plagued with the absence of his/her father and what starts out as an innocent young man's/women's journey to find out about his/her father turns into a quest that will test his/her true alliance, will he/she follow in his/her fathers footsteps, or shape his/her own destiny?

At the start of the game there should be a space battle on the outer rim where the Ebon Hawk is seen and after a big explosion, dissapears, is it destroyed?who knows

<LIGHTSIDE BEGINING>
The next transition scene should cut to Taris where Carth has organised that Bastilla to go into hiding for fear of her life, it should start with a short, hooded figure leaving a cave, hut and revealing a childs face, being Bastilla/Revans child force sensitivity is garenteed armed with a training sabre and a pistol the child makes its way to an Ithorian based merchant store to pick up something for his/her mother and after a short practice on the local species you make it back inside for supper, and Bastilla explains that now you are old enough and the Jedi Order is slowly rebuilding itself, she tells you that you have been exepted at the new Academy. Hence begining your adventure

<DARKSIDE BEGINING>
This scene should start on Korriban where Bastilla has gone into hiding from the Jedi/the Republic and waiting for the return of her master/father of her "CHILD". It begins with an ancient tomb/bunker in the Valley Of The Sith Lords, somewhere near the excavation site, opening. A small, hooded figure should appear revealing a childs face. Once again being strong in the force and armed with a training sabre, and a pistol the child makes his/her way to Dreshdae which has been occupied by the Hutts to pick up something for Bastilla. After the quest is done and after some practise with some low-life bounty hunters, the child returns home to his mother, who tells him/her that now that the Jedi Order has began to re-construct itself and some thing along the lines off "Now that our enemies have shown themselves we must make haste to destroy those how opose our master" (revan), she orders you to catch a frieghter to the New Academy and begin your destiny

Obviously the choice is yours where you end up but this is just to clear up Revans situation(which KOTOR II really messed up lol) Tell me what you think i got more lol

I actually think this is a very good start at an idea. I think that it could use some cleaning up. For example, I think an interesting idea would be to make you Carth and Bastilla's child. Think about it, this way you don't have to worry about who Revan is and what gender they are. If we make it several years later, 20 or so, then it would make sense.

I don't understand why a child is being sent on missions that Bastilla herself refuses to go on. It just seems against her character in both ways.

Next, starting unaligned does make sense. Especially being the child of Bastilla she could train her child in the ways of the force. She has had experience in both. She would train the child as she goes. She'll start to shape the future for her child. Then during your latest training mission on some planet she is killed. You have to find your way off the planet and back home to Carth. When you do so. Carth explains that he doesn't have anywhere near the training needed to continue to teach you. He says you should go to, given your alignment, the Sith or Jedi and ask to be trained. They will accept you as an apprentice, this still doesn't mean you can go and become the other but intitially you become what dear old daddy sees in you. He has also seen both sides and although he doesn't like the Sith side he recognizes that the Sith do seem to pocess more power. Although he doesn't tell you he knows you have to become stronger in order to have to stop the TS. The TS are a force that have already killed Revan and Exile, or at least to his knowledge.

That is all I have right now. Any questions? I hope they don't bring back the Ebon Hawk but if they do then they had better make some changes. I don't want the three party system again but if they do that they should make it more seemless. I think they should keep it in traditional KOTOR structure. If they do a starwars:fable then they should not do it in the KOTOR series. Let KOTOR be as it has been.

More options

Ability to kill anyone, like above their heads there's "talk, attack, etc," similar to the options when you're in battle.
Larger Maps, with more maps per planet. KOTOR2 kinda made the maps just big enough to do what it needed to do.
Coruscant. I want to have a big map like Coruscant. It would be nice to just wander if you wanted to, plus the bigger map would actually make completing tasks a challenge, not just keep running from point A to B, back to A, now to C, and on and on and on...
Let us edit our Jedi. Make it like games like WWE games, where you can edit the build, facial hair, head hair, height, etc.
More species, lightsaber options, etc for your jedi. Simple human with a metal pipe that is somehow a lightsaber got old after KOTOR1.
Make the storyline better. Again, having your character just "lose his/her memory" or parts of it got old fast.
Have Light/Dark side options hold weight besides just a different ending.
Influence was good, but talking to someone and having it just say "Nevermind" is repetative. Have more things come up with time.
Day/Night would be cool.
Allow the option to remove the robe, like the Jedi did before a duel.
For double-bladed lightsabers, allow the option to use only one side, like the "switch weapons" button, have one to put one side away.
The ability to ride vehicles would be cool, too.
Romance would be good, if it went somewhere. KOTOR1 was cool w/ Bastila, but at the end, all you got was the ability to turn her in the end w/ your relationship.
Seeing the Jedi Counsel of Coruscant and being able to receive counsuling from them would be cool, like talking to the Jedi Counsel in KOTOR1.
I think it would be cool to see the entire Jedi Acadamy, such as the library, and receive help from a librarian, like Obi-wan in Episode 2.
I hope the game doesn't limit your help, like being able to ask questions from anyone about any objective you may have, even if most of the answers are "Umm...I'm sorry, but I don't know what you're talking about."
Space battles would be cool, too.
I would love to be able to JUMP.
I would not mind having an orange lightsaber, not like a red with an orange inside, but an actual orange lightsaber. (or is it just my comp settings?)
FIX THE GLITCHES!!!
Shorter loading times.
Make the "bad guy" customizable?
Make the "bad guy" not wierd. (KOTOR1-no jaw, KOTOR2-cut up, and no face)
I liked being able to convert my party to become Jedi, keep that.
(I'm afraid that if all of these things happen, it'll become a hack-and-slash, and while I would like that, it would probably result in many hooked fans to not buy KOTOR3)

I know I forgot some things, but you all probably know what I forgot, and you'll voice your opinions, or already have.

I also wouldn't mind a game (not nessassarily KOTOR3) to be played like the KOTOR franchise, but the journey of Anakin Skywalker. Like, you can change the fate of the galaxy. You could not marry Padme, or not kill Duuku, or kill Palpatine when you find out he's a Sith, or not interfere with Mace when he's gonna kill Palpatine, or let him hill Palpatine and kill Mace afterwards (say something like "I just saved you for last"). I think it'd be cool.

Think about it though, making the child Bastila's and Carth's would be pretty messed up, as Carth has made it clear that his alliance is with the Republic, i just read what you said about picking Revans gender, that skipped my mind lol *stupidhead* maybe a fresh start is in order, maybe you are the reincarnation of Revan or the Exile and the ultimate mission of the game is restore order to the galaxy, dark/light whateva (ill have to ponder on some ideas)

<First> maybe they could start on Dxun? your mothers trained you in the ways of the force, while you are talking to her she has a premenition that she's been found and there are some assasins after her, she sends you off on your mission and when you return to the hut you find no trace of your mother, but have a premenition of what has transpired and she orders you to make contact with the new Mandolarian leader, get transport to the Jedi Academy/Sith Academy (your choice)
I also think that maybe you could go to both, pick one firstly then go to the other one later on and learn and master different abilities? also it would be pretty sweet if you could be chosen to sit at the council instead of just reaching Padawan level

In my personal opinion i think that all Star Wars movies have come out in trilogies so making it not part of the KOTOR trilogy just wouldn't fit, instead it could be somewhat as the proper sequel to KOTOR and we'll just say that KOTOR II never existed? lol

What I want in KOTOR 3

One simple way of putting this first one. Everything in KOTOR and KOTOR 2 but BETTER as well as more things like this. All the characters and maps and more! Really good scenes like at the end of KOTOR. Please LESS LOADING TIME as someone already mentioned it is driving me crazy! Any KOTOR game that loads quickly is my dream! More mini-games such as maybe fighting sith fighters in a spaceship, bigger swoop races-an entire tournament! There os another thing I would really like. It served me well in empire at war, it served me well in BF 2 and in some of the other 27 star wars games I have-(Drum roll please)FIGHTING IN SPACE! Yes please can we fight in space! The only time that we got to control anyone in space was the ebon hawk turrets for about 2 mins and in a spacesuit on leviathan for about 20 secs and about 2 more. KOTOR+fighting in space=heaven! Also have ALL quests split into light n dark. Be allowed more people in your party (Maybe 5) for those really difficult battles. More customizeable character. Customizeable lightsaber. Customizable weapons and armour at a workbench. Come on upgrades hardly make em look any different if not at all! All of the 47 star wars worlds. OK about 47. Look on empire at war+about 5 others not on EAW. One of these 2 stories. 1. You become a knight then a master and train Bastila, Juhani, Jolee and some other Jedi and get 1 subplot for each character. 2. Bastila becomes a Knight and trains you. Also I would like it to take quicker to bash things open!

What I want in the next KOTOR

In terms of technical, here's my opinion:
1) Better graphics- use either the Eclipse Engine (Jade Empire) or the new Dragon Age engine.
2) Better character animations, particularly cutscenes- use motion capture during cutscenes as an example.
3) If the CG cutscenes involving people looks just like the in-game graphics, might as well render them real-time. Easier and cheaper to the developer.
4) Resolve the frame rate issues in KOTOR series
5) Less or no bugs at all
6) The gun turret portions should be improved considerably like giving the manned turrets a faster firing rate and automatic fire so that these portions will feel more satisfying than having a semi-automatic turret in these gun turret portions.
7) Ditch the randomize item system. Drives me nuts because I don't like to constantly keep reloading a save game just to get an item I want. Just fix the said item there and don't change it to something else.

As for the others, the plot and story had better not be filled with holes because KOTOR 2 was really full of holes (thanks to Lucasarts for rushing the development of the game) and I hope that they did not repeat this in the next sequel. Considering how Star Wars Republic Commando turned out to be a success partly to longer development time and added refinements such as giving each clone member of the squad different personalities, I should think that Lucasarts will learn from this the next time they want to release another game and be more patient in the development of a game.

As for gameplay, it should be retained since the gameplay in KOTOR 2 feels more solid than its predecessor. The influence system could use a little bit of refinement though, such as aside from gaining favours from team members, you can also try to persuade them to either light or dark side.

Another thing to add

Sorry for the double post but I forgot to mention something crucial that bugs me when playing the KOTOR series. One of the things that bug me is the fact that the main character does not have a voice actor(s). May need 2 since the main character can either be a male or female. Secondly, the main character does not have any personality at all. Sure the first KOTOR had the detailed background of the main character but with no personality at all, It kinda feel weird.

And what really bugs me the most is that when there is a conversation choice, there is no voice overs at all. I know that games like the Longest Journey and Escape from Monkey Island have voice overs in the conversation choices but at least the developers of the KOTOR series should put some effort in voicing the conversation options just to make the conversation feel more realistic rather than someone talking to a wall.

I would like to see the drastic changes to both the sith and the jedi order that kreia talks about.

Im also pretty sure that Bao-Dur, T3-M4 and HK-47 will return because the destiny of all the other characters are revealed by darth traya/kreia at Malachor V, all except Bao-Dur and the droids she just says that their path are unknown to her
