Walks in, wonders where everyone is, notices a half-full bottle of Turkey laying in the floor......oh well, what the hell?

Picks up the bottle and begins to drink deeply. :cool:

When I was growing up, Coloradans disliked the Texans. There used to be a saying: "If Texans were meant to ski, They would have made bull**** white." But back then, the only Texans who visited Colorado were the rich families of oil barons on vacation. These sorts of people may have a predilection toward being jerks, no matter which state they are from. But that has all changed now in Colorado, since Texan vacationers come from a more broad spectrum of the population. Besides, now the Coloradans hate the Californians.

My Dad, BTW, was born in the Texas panhandle. I've had the opportunity to work in Texas, and have always enjoyed it. I have a theory about why Texans may be stigmatized: the state is so big, with such a diversity of universities and economic opportunities, that people born there have little reason to leave. Thus they form a tighter microcosm with little reliance on the outside world. Texas pride swells as a result, and they are more likely to be misunderstood by outsiders.

Good day y'all! (as we seem to have a Texan bent today) :D Texas is the only place where I have seen people pull their cars half off the road to let you pass. That stuff never happens here in Chicago.

I thought of everyone last night as I watched a Dynomutt cartoon. (Blue Falcon & the dog wonder) What a crime fighting duo! ;)

@Nael I couldn't agree more with what you said about Texas. :cool: As stated in other posts a while back, I hate heat. I prefer somewhere nice and cold where ye can cuddle up with the one you love. But, dispite that, I still wish I was in Texas. That's one thing about Texas tempatures. They may not be the absolute highest in the country(105°F by noon in Coolidge, Arizona yesterday), but the sudden change from hot to cold breaks up the monotony of having 100-110°F every day like in Arizona.

Another thing that I've noticed: "Snowbirds." People who come down from the north to southern states during the winter. All the southern states call them either "winter visitors" or the derogatory term "snowbirds," except for Texas. In Texas, we call'em "Winter Texans." We're the only state that shows'em any true hospitality. ;) :D

Song listened to while typing this post: God Bless Texas ;)

Good day all! What's up? :D

On the subject of Texas, I have quoted a Texan singer in Jenna's thread..my kind of chill music and the only type that I am able to sing along to :D ;) (the montone northern UK accent does trip in occasionally tho! ;) )

*Ysh taps Bloodstalker on the shoulder*

You're starting early ;) I am swigging from a coffee cup at the moment :D

Anybody out there remember the banana splits

One banana, two bananas, three bananas, four ;)

Can you name them al? :D

There is a channel on Sky called Boomerang which is reviving all the old classics like:

Banana Splits
Pink Panther
Hong Kong Fooey
Wacky Races
Top Cat
Dangermouse ( :D :D :D )

The funny thing is my kids are convinced that these cartoons are of their generation - they are stunned when I am able to tell them what is going to happen next :D

Boomerang was the channel I was watching yesterday. I just got direct tv, and am amazed at the amount of channels.

The banana splits was my favorite show as a kid. I might be having a brain freeze on the names, Fleagle, Bingo, Snort? Oh yeah, and the last (and most famous) Mcbane! :D :D

Wasnt Danger Island part of the show?

I'm good, went out and bought some music cd's and a game called Riddle of the Sphinx. :D

Mighty Mouse
McHale's Navy
Puff n Stuff
The Avengers
Fat Albert and the Cosby kids
Laugh in (when the parents were not home)
Twilight Zone (Talking Tina) That one still scares me. :eek:

@ McBane

Danger Island was indeed a part of the show. Fleagle would be the only name I'd remember of the banana splits although they were a dog, monkey, elephant, and ???

Danger Mouse, is that still on??? I haven't seen that show in fifteen years.

@DP - I haven't heard of Riddle of the Sphinx - what type of game is it?

@Ned - yes, on Boomerang 8:30 pm Fridays :D

BTW great sig ;) Perhaps I should add 'BOO!!' to mine :D

@Ysh,

thanks about the sig. You were the one I was hoping would noticed since you brought me out of that Jameson stupor yesterday.

Not sure what 'boomerang' network is although I'd love to see the show again. "A one eyed super secret agent mouse and his mole sidekick taking orders from a giant frog to try to stop ?SPECTRE?. It's been so long, how right am I here.

Close enough :)

A one eyed super secret agent mouse and his mole sidekick (Penfold) taking orders from (always thought he was a dog with a handlebar moustache) trying to put a stop the activities of Baron Greenback (the hunchback toad with a furry caterpillar friend) :D :D

@Ysh,

Starting early? Did I ever say I stopped? :D

Besides, my Grandaddy would come back from the grave and whoop me if I let good whiskey go to waste.
