Currently, I'm trying to access my characters to prevent Blizzard deleting them, but it's proving to be a tricky process, with a laptop that has less disk space than my old Acorn (or so it seems) and an internet connection that is dodgy to say the least, completely forgetting that my play disc got broken and diablo 2 doesn't recognise my copied backup. Yay.

Just let them die, the fun is building and developing the chars, when u get a better connection which is within economy you can just start anew, or ask a friend that has D2 to play some with ur chars, that'll keep 'em alive for 60 more days ;)

I have a hard time picking a favourite, but I think Sorceress tops the list, shortly followed by the Assassin. The Sorceress really turns into a monster at level 70 if you build her right... my current project causes plenty of havoc, but is a bit weak when monsters are cold imune and keep a distance or both cold and lightning imune. The later I have to leave to my trusty henchman, a Holy freeze paladin.

The Assassin on the other hand gives a distinctly different kind of play, and turned out to be the best reason to get the LOD expansion. Both Martial arts and Trap assassins are fun to play, the later in some ways as passive as a Necro - just trick the enemy into your traps, stand back and watch the mayhem, while the former is even more reckless in close quarters than a Barb.
The direct use of force is such a poor solution to any problem, it is generally employed only by small children and large nations David Friedman
