Well - there is a difference between needing 10 people to form a guild and 10 people in the guild after it is created.
If somebody can only front 5 people, for example, then ask 5 strangers to spend some time getting the guild formed, and then they can leave afterwards.
Possible bribing low levels is always a good way to get them to help if one can spare some cash/stuff.
Btw - haven't gotten WoW beta, can possible borrow from one of the people at work if he dosen't like it
But currently - I*m WoWFree.

The idea about useing the Sylvanis story arch seems pretty neet. I'll have to look at that part of the story sometime soon when I*m not as tired as I am now...

Righto. So this basically it? 4 or 5 players? Shall we start with the background and story or there is basically no interest?

Looks like it. But i bet we will get more people once people actually buy the game. Aegis may join you and stuff. Plus there are alot of members taht read and dont post. If we start this off you never know we might get more people.
With NWN there was alot of hype and Gamebanshee is most definitely a bioware gaming forum. We basically need to do some advertising and stuff.
I can draft a rough story line by say Monday next week. It will be tragic and dark, from what i can gather by the story line we wnat to follow.

Well- I've preordered WoW EU-version, now I need to find out which class to play and read up on it....
I'm somewhat drawn to either the Warlock or the Rogue/Hunter, but I do have an affinity for playing tanks in such games, thus possible a warrior would suit me better....
Oh well - that is my age old problem with games. Selecting a character and sticking with it. (Especially in MMORPGS... In DAoC I've deleted 2 level capped characters to start new "main chars"
)
Only thing that is certain - is that I'll 99.5% sure play Human. (Although - annoyingly enough - Humans can't be hunters)

I've also just pre-ordered the EU version and will be playing EU beta on the 26 of november. I'va also just started a guild with all my class mates that play WoW and will hence not solely belong to BotB, but if I understand it correctly I can join in different guilds with different chars so I'll still have chars in BotB, just not all of them.

@ xandax
Well after playing the beta, I've found a group always need a warrior when dungeon crawling. I've played in two groups. The first had 2 warriors(me as one) and 2 shaman for healing. That group didn't do as well as the next group that had just one warrior(me), a hunter, a warlock, and only one shaman for healing. I mean the second group did a lot better and were even lower levels then the first group. The pets from warlocks and hunters were tanking just as well as a warrior could and warlocks and hunters can heal and revive their own pets, so you don't have to worry about them dieing in a group (thus made it easier for our healer). Warlocks and hunters can also sit back and deal extra damage with spells and archery. All a warrior is meant to do is manage threat and aggression. He has lots of abilities for this. It's basically what sets him apart from a paladin too. Paladins have auras and healing spells, but they don't manage threat like a warrior. If any of that helps with your deciding between your three classes.

Well - dosen't really help no
One of the only criterias I have for choosing class(es) to play are that they appeal to me. This has been my main guide through DAoC for instance.
I don't choose due to "overpoweredness" or group-status etc - because if you play with decent respectable people they will play with you regardless of your class.
I know from prior MMORPGs that I like to solo the game as well (heck have level most of my characters in daoc painfully slow, but solo
) as grouping with fun people. Thus I'm inclined to choose the Hunter or the Warlock, but I also know that I can solo pretty much any class. (albeit slowly for some
) But Hunters can't be human, which is a huuuuge minus for me.
Arrrgg - to many considerations, I hate not being able to select a class and sticking with it

You'll find people to group with you no matter what class you are. Even if there's nobody around but an abnormally high number of priests. In fact I'm sure there are guilds of people who are only priests can join and they all get together and dungeon crawl, because it doesn't matter which class you have. I was just saying how warriors aren't the only classes that tank, that the pets from other classes tank also(specifically the two classes you mentioned being intrested in). Warriors only place in tanking is to manage threat and aggression amoung monsters. It's what sets them apart and makes them unique, apposed to the other things that make the other classes tankers unique.

Well, a few days ago I was bored and felt like playing WOW but because it has not been released yet I could do nothing else but pre-order it. I see the European release will be on 14-1-2005, so I will still have to wait. I haven’t got any MMORPG experience, but joining a decent guild seems like a good idea. Is there something like a guild charter already? The only thing I gathered was that you have to be alliance? That’s it? No other limitations? That sort of goes against the guild idea, doesn’t it? A guild is an organisation of people with the same profession. Well, it doesn’t matter to me, it is obvious that it is easier to cooperate if not everybody in the guild is a dwarven paladin with mining as profession, for example. On the other hand, it might prove an extra challenge and it would probably make an impression on the other guilds. Especially when all the Blades descent the mountains at nightfall with their axes slung over their shoulders and humming a merry melody…
I don’t know what I want to play. Since I’m a Taurus I really want to be a Tauren. On the other hand, I’d rather be small and quick than bulky and strong. It’s difficult! Also, I’d like to play something that not everybody else is playing.
Well, I certainly would like to consider joining the Blades of the Banshee, I’m sure it will be a nice group. How far away are you from 10 players on the European Server?
Oh, one other thing: I think you also need to be in the same realm as a guild. So will the BotB be a PvE, PvP or roleplaying guild?

Ok from what i can see we will be a PvP Guild/Clan. The original BotB for NWN was mainly a good aligned clan thus alliance. It included all classes and we had wings within our clan. The nature wing, the divine wing etc. So basically you could be a druid and be a BotB member.
We want to follow a similar path for WoW. Basically an Alliance PvP clan for all classes. If you check the Botb head count thread you will see that we have 3 players for the US and 3 for the EU. If you include me and yourself we have 3 for the US and 5 for the EU. So I personally think we are a long ways off.
Right now we have a headcount to see if people want to play as part of BotB. If they do then we can start off with the history etc right away. But first it would be nice to have the minimum figure of 10 people for one continent.
Personally we can start off as PvP but that doesnt mean we can not have people in the RP server. The BotB was basically a place for people to play together and have fun. It in still many regards is that. Many of the original members of BotB had been on the website for some time and posted in SYM so we kinda knew each other.
If you would like to join that would be great. We personally could do with the membership. As soon as we have 10 people we can start with all the bio-data, history and classes etc.

All right, you can count me in. I will probably decide what I want to play as at the very last moment but I don't mind not being Tauren very much. I read that they are too big for many dungeons anyway
The European chapter of the guild is half full now, but there is still time to gather extra members before WOW starts in Europe. I think recruiting will be easy if there is a short description of the guild. A mission statement, so to speak. And any rules that might exists (Do we help damsels in distress? Do we engage in needless violence? Are we kind to animals? In which pub do we meet each friday? Is there a periodic fee? etc.). With that ready, if there are not enough members by january, we could also recruit on other forums, within GB and outside.
Of course, when the guild is in action it should attract many people because of all the brave deeds that will be done.
Do the blades already have an emblem or coat of arms? I read you can have a guild emblem on your outfit. Nice eh?

Well actually we worked on all that stuff when BotB was supposed to be based on Argyle. We have alot of gifs and jpegs. Some mighty cool stuff. I will upload them tomorrow. Off the bed for me tonight. Will answer the rest of your questions tomorrow.
Random thug (RT) is checking if any of his friends in the US would like to play WoW and be part of BotB. So we will see how many people we have in the end.

A guild in the historical sences is how you say - a trades guild of blacksmiths for instance.
However a guild in MMOGs are however more like Clans, societies. So thus you can and will accept different "professions".
Most guilds simply share a common goal - whether it is to be "top dog" in the MMOG (in terms of PvP or what not) down to simply having fun as casual players in a relaxed and mature setting.
My goal with playing with BoTB is certainly the latter - with emphasizing mature.

Now this looks interesting
The european final beta is on its way (starts in december), and those who preorder the game is guaranteed an account in the beta
Joining a guild from GB would be cool, I'm not the most active member on this website, but I plan on getting the most out of my money when I buy the game, so I'll probably be very active.
