I know that, of course. Duriel and Andariel, who we killed in D2. That leaves Azmodan and Belial, who we've yet to see and may not ever see.
But then Lilith gets added in, all the evils start having sex and children, there's Lucion, etc.
I guess I shouldn't complain, since after all, we need something evil to fight in DIII, whether it's just been made up or is actually a pre-existing demon that was mentioned in one of the games. I would prefer the latter though.
well my opinion is that tyreil (the archangel excuse if i spelled his name incorrectly) will become that next vessel for diablo like the hero did from the first one. or the hero form the second one become the new vessel and find fragments of the world stone. It could work out that the lesser evil (it may be possible that blizzard mention's him a little in the second game; let me do some more research and I'll get back to the forums) works out to resurrect diablo from some portal using the Horadric cube (do not forget the secret cow level) but his could be year's after when the second game takes place and the world has gone to hell becuase of the world stone being destroyed.
remember just my opinions not for sure yet.

I doubt that considering Blizzard has already declared that the only returning character from diablo 2 will be Cain.

Tyreals exact words were that he has to destroy the worldstone before the powers of hell take root.
However, it would be the only way to ensure mankinds survival. But that act would have consequences even he could not foresee.
So my guess would be that the angels would turn evil because of this and all evil would turn bad, so that you'd eventually become an agent of hell, fighting the forces of heaven or something the like and Tyreal being one of the act bosses and eventually god would be the ultimate boss or something.
But that wouldn't work, since if that were the case, a lot of christian people would feel offended cause you have to kill god at the end of the game, it would surely be banned out of the US at least.
wait guys just remember going back to fighting diablo. remember that diablo's soul stone is still shining once he died, i think diablo has been hiding in his soul stone waiting for somthing to release him from it

If you're talking about diablo 2, that's just a graphical outline of Diablo that every creature in that game has. It's a video card issue, not a storyline issue.

Actually I could see fighting the heavens instead of the hells now as a believable storyline!
It would be a great perspective story of good and evil and balance and such.
Like the heavens have stopped the hells and now they can do whatever they want with the world. They consider humans to be capable of evil and want to eliminate them to make the world pure good. Of course, humans wouldn't take this too well.
Also, the 3 Primevils were exiled from hell, right? Who did the exiling? Stronger evils?
But then again, a diablo game without diablo would be kinda weird...
