All education inevitably leads to the creation of Cylons, which is bad. We should all live like noble savages.

The world was much more organized and moral when only the nobility could afford the scant eduction there was.

That was fine if you were a noble and not a serf. For my part I kind of like having central heat that does not come from the center of a live pig in winter. Not to mention something other than dirt for a floor.

Education should be for everyone, no matter what is their status, economic levels, etc. but, still if it's free, sometimes people can't value it as important. So, in my opinion, it's not free, but must be cheap. Cheap doesn't mean not valuable. so everyone can get it.
Sorry for my poor english. hope you're understand.

That's why you gotta make sure you sign up for one of the "noble" spots when the new world order comes rolling around.

I don't like those odds. Something like 95% of folks were drawers of water and hewers of wood. Oh well to fencing class I go

Dibs on being a high-up Priest. Free education, funky clothes, no heavy lifting, when you get older you're the educator so you get to call the curriculum, and all the children you can eat.
Also, we're doing away with that priestly celibacy thing and going back to the earlier traditions of temple harlots.

IMO education should be a right, not a privilege...
Why should only the wealthy be able to secure post-secondary education without the burden of crippling debt?
Er.. but onto the less serious side of things...
Ode, if you're looking to establish a cult, shouldn't you at least have a few vestal virgins for appearance sake?

No way. You need to sacrifice the virgins. You keep a few vestals around and all of a sudden it will look like your pantheon supports celibacy, and before you know it you'll have some cocky *ahem* young upstart who's claiming he's all Holier Than Ode because he hasn't done the dirty yet. A good virgin sacrifice at regular intervals will help cement your power and instill the real fear of the gods in the hearts of the plebeians. You'll need to throw them in volcanoes. It's classy, it's traditional, and you don't have a disgusting corpse to get rid of. Lucky for you, I just happen to be a volcano salesman*.
*Volcano salesmen were the "shadow nobility" of the ancient world. Possessing the required volcanoes for the important virgin sacrifices, kings and priests were often at their beck and call. They worked behind the scenes to shape the empire with their unbridled influence and often lived in homes made of solid gold and ivory.

endboss is right, celibacy can give people some strange ideas, like gays making priests into pedophiles, or dry wafers and wine magically turning into 2000-year-old zombie Jew flesh so people can eat it - everyone knows a good red deserves better.
If I'm in charge of religion we're gonna make it a popular one dammit: sacred sex with holy hookers it is.

*Chokes on coffee* Speaking of which, will cannibalism be part of the new worldwide cult? I've got to work out the best spices for it to ensure the new trade monopoly.

If music be the food of love...
Of course, another advantage to virgin sacrifice is we can finally be rid of Susan Boyle.

Oi!
Have you been peeking at my plans to solve 3rd world hunger and first-world child obesity simultaneously?
I mean, all those fat kids who won't exercise in the first world, all those hungry kids who can run fast in the third - fly the fatties to famine-afflicted areas, give the starving orphans a knife and fork (and build a giant barbecue pit), tell 'em if they can catch the tubby tykes they can eat their fill and tell the rotund rapscallions to start running. The third world gets a super-sized free feed and/or our oversized offspring discover a love of long-distance running and get in shape - either way, problem(s) solved!

Ummm... you are aware that it is the duty of the high priest to "check" and make sure the soon-to-be sacrificed are actually virgins, right?

Hey Volcano Boy, I don't tell you how to do your job!
On a not-unrelated note, we should probably ease off the spam hey.

That's probably for the best.
Personally, I'm for every person having access to free education. The best defense against intolerance and suffering in our world is proper secular education.
